Disaster or Success Its a Fine Line .......

[00:00:07]>> And good morning from the tape districts. Oh, yes, we've had a lovely little run this morning. This has been my biggest run yet. Lots of ups, lots of downs. Definitely the most. We've got some paperwork done because yes, we do need to do paperwork quite often on these projects because we've got so many of them on the go. You got to do the paperwork thing to keep the other thing going to make so you can do the digging thing. You know that cuz I've talked about that so many times. And I've got a little bit of paperwork done this morning. So I'm very happy with that.

[00:00:32]But now I do have a little gap, a little bit of time available to me because we're waiting for that nine ton dumpers to come tomorrow and then we're going to start moving that mucky again cuz the three ton as much as I love that little three ton dump because it's amazing when we're moving the big bits like that, we could just do with a bigger bucket. So we got a bigger bucket coming on the way. But now cuz this has given me a little opportunity, I never actually got a chance to put like a little overflow into the tape district for a couple of reasons. one, we didn't think I didn't even expect it to hold water. I didn't expect it to be here this long because it was just like a bit of a holding thing while we were doing work down there. But it's still here and it is starting to green up and it's starting to look quite cool. And even on a super hot day, like we've had a prolonged period of dryness, we've still got water here and there's still water running into it from the spring, which is mind-blowing. And the amount of wildlife that we see just here taking a drink from it and hanging out a bit when it's quiet is amazing. So, I think it's really good. But what I'm going to try and do now is just get a little because at the minute it's just spilling over and making its own way out, which is kind of cool, but I think we could do a little bit better than that. So, I'm going to make a little bit of an overflow that comes through here and drops down there and then goes off into the drainage trenches like that and then it can be diverted to wherever we are cuz at the minute it's starting to spill out again and we're getting all ready and stuff like that. So, that is going to be my plan for today. So, I think we're going to go and get That's a terrible little leap, won't it? But look at all the greenery and everything that's growing around everything. Is it lovely?

And also, it'd be really nice to have some sort of little shelter cuz like today it's great, no wind at all, but sometimes it's a bit breezy and you just want to sit up here and chill. But I think it'd be really cool with like some sort of bush sheltery type structure just tucked in there be well good. Look at the water in there, man. Wow. That is so clear.

[00:02:37]See what sort of pipy type stuff we've got. We'll fetch the couple of hand shovels up. Just try and get something in there which just allows the water to escape and then hopefully get down inside that drainage ditch over there. Make it look a bit nice. got a load of rocks and stuff like that. Maybe we'll fetch them up as well. Who knows? We might get very creative. One quickly, I don't think I really mentioned this yesterday when I was cl when we were talking about why we were digging out here. So, this digging out that we're doing here is nothing's to do with the levels issue that we've got on site. This digging out here was always going to happen. So, these pads are in at 450 below finished floor level. Finished floor level of this building is here. That's where we say at. So that's where the floor is going to be inside our building. So to allow us to have the finished floor level there and the correct slab makeup, we're digging it down to that 450 between 450 and 400 deep finished floor level. And that allows us to then fetch in a load of clean aggregate, stone it up, whack it down, and then we can put the concrete slab on top of that and the concrete slab. We're just waiting on the final spec from the engineers, but that will be varying thickness depending what bays it's got to be in. So yeah, this digging out here always meant to happen, always was going to happen. The digging that way, that's new. That's what we need to do. That's our landscaping to make this building fit, to make this lovely 30 m long flat building fit into this sloping site.

Oh, we've got enough juice for what we need to do, but we will need to juice up tomorrow. Oh, and we have the nice little bug on. So hopefully this will allow us to get that bit of a neater trench that we're just going to sort of pull out to put the drain into the uh into our little uh T district pond up there. E water holding facility, storm water, spring water, whatever you want to call it. But we're going to just put that there and then just see about getting something to sit in it. Maybe a few rocks around just to make it look a bit nice. Who knows really? Eh, but for now we need to make the long journey up to the tape district.

[00:05:39]Now, look at this. We finally made it up here in the 13 tunnel. We got the narrow bucket on. So the idea is I've got the digger sat along the drainage trench that Joe dug down there that goes off that way. So thought if I sit level with that and then just pull a little section through there and hopefully I'll dig it down the bank and then out that way and might even get a bit of a pipe in there caught and work it in and stuff like that. But for now I'm just going to get that little shoot through there and hopefully don't want to go too crazy cuz it'll drop the water level quite a bit in there. But yeah, just pull it through. And then it just gives it a nice defined overflow point, which is what it's needed for a long, long time.

[00:06:19]But we never got around to doing it because there's so many other things to do. But the 110 has given a little window of opportunity. So, we may as well seize that opportunity and see what we can do. E. So, I'm going to dig this out and hopefully we don't like burst the dam and the whole thing explodes and it'll get washed down the river. Uh-oh.

Imagine if that flew flows like that all the time. Woo! Ooh, well, we definitely have an overflow now. So, look, that's dug in nicely just whoosh down there straight into the drainage ditches. And it's like we've opened the floodgates. It is amazing to quantify that. If you look at the edge, I think we've dropped the water level doing that by about thinking at the water mark on the edge.

[00:08:43]We've dropped the water level by about 50 mil putting that in there. And the amount of water across that area that came out for like just that much was insane. Look at it's all the way down there now. Wild when you work out quantities over a big area like that, isn't it?

[00:09:01]Absolutely mindboggling. But yeah, so that's in there now. I think that'll be a lot better for the overall cause of it because hopefully it can start going down there now rather than just seeping through the bank. I don't know whether it's going to work like that, but we might find a little I suppose ideally you'd want a bit of a pipe in there, but don't really want to drop it down.

[00:09:40]So, I was just wondering what to do cuz this is like really hard clay and it's super solid. Not very easy for anything to grow. But there's a couple of piles of decent soil down at the bottom. I'm just wondering if I take the 13 toner back now. We come up with the dump, use that, put the grader back on that, load some of the soil into the three ton dumper and just track that up there. And then I could tip it on here and then just probably just rake it out. And I'm pretty certain it'd make this all nice and could flatten all these these big craters. Just get some soil over here and that might be able to make it a lot more vertile or growable or whatever you call the soil stuff. But I'm kind of thinking that I could like dress all this in quite nicely along it with a bit of soil. What do we think? H I think it'd be nice, wouldn't it? Cuz then if you got all this seeded and grass and you've got all these big ankle breakers, you know, the big holes from when I was just doing it cuz it was right sloppy, wasn't it? So, I might do that. I think what we're going to do is Yeah, we'll fetch the I go back down now cuz S dropped me some lunch off. I'm going to go and get my lunch. Oh, I feel I feel a plan for me for the afternoon. Yeah, going to go back, get my lunch, put some hand tools in the dumper, and we'll use 13 Suns, fill the dumper with the good soil, fetch it up here. And I just have to knock it about by hand. So, but it looks better already, doesn't it, than that? Then the B clay. It's like, oh, probably should have tipped one bit closer to this. So, I need a little bit more anyway. But I need to find a decent metal rake. So, just going to give Andy a quick call cuz he had one in his hand yesterday. So, I don't know if he's local and if he's got it. If not, I'm gonna have to go and get one. Right. I think we're gonna have another trip down, get another load of soil, and I need to go and find a decent rake from somewhere to get this rakes off level, and then we can get a bit more soil onto there, and then rake this through. And this is good. Oh, it just look better already.

Maybe get this sort of stirring about a bit. Who knows what would happen then? But we'll have to have a little look see cuz like even like the seas and that you know you could be like a grand into that straight away, couldn't you? you know, when you start looking. I think I did look at fountains a bit ago and they were like sort 500 quid.

Cuz if I couldn't do it while it was empty, I probably can't do it while it's got all that in there, can I? But as usual, didn't do any of that, did I?

But hopefully when we do get a bit of moisture, I can get some some some sort of seeds on here and grasses, whatever seeds, and then hopefully it'll take nice and smoothly. But for now, I'm going to run that back down cuz that's the last time that we're using that tonight. Whiz that down there, pick the vitarus up. Come up here, knock all this about.

So, wait to hear back from him and then hopefully make a decision later this week about which ones we're going to go with. But, oh, exciting and terrifying at the same time. But for now, going to give this a quick knockabout and then uh and then see if the boys are still the JB or whether I missed them.

[00:39:29]So, it's filled in all the big ankle breaker holes and just good layer of soil all over everything on the top.

[00:39:36]Now, you can see where the clay is over there still. We got quite a bit of soil.

[00:39:40]So, hopefully we can um might get a bit more grass and stuff growing on this, you know, now there's something there for it. And this will all become lovely and sort of green and whatever around here. Now, that's about as technical as my gardening or landscaping terms go. Green or whatever.

[00:39:58]But yeah, that's running nicely. That's going down there. So, happy days really.

[00:40:02]What an extra little day this has turned out to be because like I say, initially I thought I'd still be moving muk, but with ashbook sending the bigger dumper out, it seemed sense to put that on hold. And uh this is what the day brought forward for us to do so. I'm quite happy with that. Very happy in fact.

[00:40:18]But we're getting on to time saying oh it's 20 to 8. So, at 20 to 8, I believe it's time for me to see about maybe I cheek a little cider, have some tea, and then I've got an edit to do, aren't I?
