[00:00:00]hi there students moist moist and adjective um you could have the verb moistened to moisten and our moisturizer for your hands yeah to make things nut your hands nice and moist I guess as well moistly um an adverb and then you've got moisture a related word as well okay if something is moist it's damp yeah it's got a little bit of liquid it's not dry yum so um if you want to clean the computer screen use a moist cloth not wet not soaking wet just moist yeah um and that will help you to clean the screen or the cake that you made is a one it's a wonderful moist cake it's not dry inside or for example if you roast a chicken or you roast meat um if you cook it too long or you cook it at too high a temperature it's dry and this is much nicer if it's moist I guess if you are if you feel emotional your eyes could moisten yeah you begin to cry wet with tears full of tears so um I was so emotional about the the news that uh my eyes began to moisten yeah um he uh I could see his eyes were moist uh uh at the at the news I guess um you somewhere could have a moist climate it's quite humid it rains quite a lot um maybe it's damp yeah so it's it's moist um an envelope you need to lick it you need to moisten the flap and then stick it down okay so this is the idea of moist moist says it's slightly wet slightly damp yeah um uh moistened with a sponge yeah moist air is coming in from the sea yeah um okay uh this cake is beautifully moist he's got moist eyes so this is all talking about water slightly wet but um notice moist is a positive word yeah if something is moist generally it's quite good so yeah uh a moist cake mmm sounds delicious I think if you say damp it's saying there's too much water and it's wet and cold okay so um to moisten um before you iron this if you moisten it a little it will have a much better effect yeah it it works much better if it's uh slightly moist if it's got just a little bit of water on so slightly wet yeah um uh it was a rather the there was moist warm moist air yeah or you get fog when moist air comes over a cold surface okay so moist slightly damp slightly wet yeah a suggestive of moisture yeah there were drops of moisture on the surface the Dew in the morning is when the moisture comes out of the air and settles on the leaves and the grass and the plants on the ground yeah that moisture could then freeze and become Frost if it's very cold yeah um you use a moisturizing cream for your skin if it's too dry okay so moist nice easy word um formality I think I'm going to give this a five informality I think you can use it anywhere um let's see as to origin well it comes from old French um must uh meaning moist but I think that itself comes from uh it's related to the word uh moldy or musty yeah um which comes from mucidus uh in Latin moldy or mustum yeah um okay so moist yeah slightly damp with a with a little bit of water normally moist is is quite a nice positive word so enough if you enjoyed the video give it a rating subscribe to my channel and I will see you soon bye for now moist
