Alan Dershowitz argues that anti-Semitism has become the world's most urgent civil rights issue, stating that the only reason it has not produced another Holocaust is Israel's military defense capabilities, and he has left the Democratic Party due to its embrace of neo-Nazis and anti-Semitic elements.

Alan Dershowitz: “Anti-Semitism is now the world’s most urgent civil rights issue” - ynet GlobalAñadido:
Anti-Semitism is a sickness, it's a disease.
And it's their disease, not our disease.
What we have to do is be prepared to defend ourselves against those who would harm us physically. And I think that has to be the first priority and Israel is on the vanguard of protecting us. The only reason that the growing anti-Semitism has not and will not produce another Shoah is the IDF and the Israeli ability to defend not only its own citizens, but Jews around the world from increasing and rampant anti-Semitism.
>> Alan, you were a long-time Democrat, but recently you said that you no longer identified with the party.
What was the breaking point?
Well, I was a Democrat since I was 14 years old. I campaigned for Democrats in every single presidential election since John Kennedy in 1960. The Democrats have pushed me out of their party. The Democrats are now nominating Nazis, nominating people who have Totenkopf, swastikas on their bodies. The Democrats are nominating people who campaign with Hasan who is an overt Nazi.
Um Democrats like Liz Warren and and Senator Murphy of Connecticut are supporting Nazis. And people forget that several thousand Jews, not tens of thousands, not hundreds of thousands, but several thousand Jews supported Hitler in the 1932 German election. They said, "Look, Hitler will be good for the economy, he'll be good for employment. Yeah, so he doesn't like the Jews, big deal."
That's what's happening today. People like Senator Warren and Senator Murphy are supporting Nazis because these Nazis claim that they're good for democratic economic values. And I can't have any association with a party that embraces these neo-Nazis. Now, the Republicans have a problem, too. The Republicans have Tucker Carlson, and they have a few other people like that, but the Republicans have done a better job in marginalizing their neo-Nazis, whereas the Democrats have embraced them. And until the Democrats return to the roots of the Democratic Party that I knew them in the 1960s, '70s, '80s, '90s, I can't be associated with the Democratic Party, and I will try to see the Democrats defeated in the midterm elections. I don't want to see Democrats control the Senate, control the House, or control the presidency as long as the Democratic Party is controlled by the hard-left, anti-Semitic, anti-Israel radicals that today are controlling the Democratic Party. So, I'm proud to have left that party. I wish it didn't have to happen, but I'm going to stick with my principles, not with my party.
