>> A couple months ago when Digital Circus episode 7 came out, I made a theory video about what I thought happened to create the circus. And the comments laughed at me. They joked, "Oh, silly little Kaboodleoodle with her silly little theories. How cute." but also stupid. Able being anything but part of Kane's adventure. How ridiculous, they said. But who's laughing now?
>> I was right. You all made fun of me, but I was right. So, yes, I know I was right. I'm a prophet. Whatever. But I'm not going to spend this entire video bragging about that because I actually want to discuss the episode. So, let's break this whole thing down with my reaction. Now, I normally stream every Digital Circus episode that comes out and my reaction to it. I wish I was joking when I said during my stream, Kane just really hated me or something because my stream crashed nine times.
So, I essentially went into this episode completely blind.
Red. It's red. Lots of red. Lots and lots of red. I hope we find out the backstory more here. Oh.

I'm kidding. I'm not kidding. I might be. I'm a little kidding. Now he makes other things that are all messed up.

Now, you guys probably don't know this about me at all, but as of a couple months ago, I don't go on social media like ever, which is weird cuz I'm a content creator for like a job, but I literally go on the platform, post videos, and leave. And occasionally, you'll get a Discord message from me in my Discord server, but that's like it. But due to this, I have not seen any digital circus theories apart from stuff that my friends tell me about at uni. So, I have absolutely no idea if the point I'm about to bring up is common knowledge or not. But I did notice on my second rewatch that Kane said seriously here with some level of conviction. Now, we know that Kane probably doesn't control the abstractions and they aren't part of him. We also know that Kane can mess with people's minds. And how strongly he said >> seriously >> leads me to believe that Kane is the reason that Kar's mind is like this and he messed up Kar's mind so that he wouldn't abstract, especially considering we know that Ker was alone in the circus for like a while. This also does tie in a little bit with how the darkness and the memory of his wife during abstraction helps him get his memory back a little bit. So, it does disprove the earlier theory that I had like last time I talked about this that Kar's mind was messed up due to the fight between Abel and Kane. However, I may still have been right about that fight. I'm just I'm just saying. Okay, >> go.

So, first off, yeah, Ragatha was clearly around at least a few people when she put the headset on, which leads me to believe that Abel was telling some level of truth about the experiments. Of course, a lot of people around her could mean a lot of different things, but considering it's the only thing that we've been told that can point in that direction, I'm more inclined to believe it. Okay, then Kane comes in, right, and says, >> "Wow, wow, wow, WOW, A NEW ONE." SO, it is possible. I was hoping new minds could show up. I have to make some more PREPARATIONS FOR THIS AMAZING BREAKTHROUGH. which is like, okay, my brain goes to like three different places. One, Kane has been crafting theories of his own, and he has been thinking about this and worrying about this a lot. Two, it has been so long since another human entered the digital circus that Kane genuinely didn't think it was possible for another human to enter after Kinger's co-workers all abstracted. Three, this mother did this on purpose and he had played some part in bringing people here after the first batch. Now, it could be one of these or all three of these or none of these, but I think it's just a really interesting choice of words. And hey, seems like my incessant ramblings and observation of detail isn't overthinking. Then of course there's King's behaviors and reactions which point to my original thoughts of, "Yeah, Kane with him, man."
>> They want an exit. They want answers.
They want something real. I give them an adventure that covers all of that and they still hate it. Surely they don't want to actually leave me, right?
>> No way, Jose. No way. No how. I I do everything for these people. I slave over these adventures for them. I step outside my comfort zone to appeal to them, and they still hate them. I made a program that creates a body perfectly encapsulating their mind files, and they hate those, too. I'm starting to get the feeling that they just hate it.

>> Now, Kane's crash is unmistakably the coolest part of this entire episode, dude. Now, before I go on a giant tangent about how I was right with Kane being replaced by a seemingly better AI by the company and then consuming it, let's break down the scene. So, we already knew that Kane had big problems with excessive need of validation from humans, but he doesn't really understand empathy. So, he's just a bit frustrated here with how everyone treats him when he's logistically doing everything right. But Bubble is very interesting here, especially cuz he's being all nice and all friendly and then there's a little glitch and suddenly he's sending Kane into a panic attack. Knowing what we know about Kane consuming the other blue AI, I personally believe that this glitch or maybe just Bubble himself is a manifestation of whatever that blue AI was. I think it makes the most sense for the blue AI to be able because we haven't really been introduced to any other options. And I don't think they would make a new character out of the blue this late. Get it out of the blue.
Obviously Kane still has control over Bubble. And Abel didn't seem nearly as mean as Bubble was here when we saw him.
So, it's not a foolproof theory or anything, but I don't know if Kane could naturally have these kind of anxieties or say these things to himself that Bubble was saying to this level of severity. I'm going to go off script and add some stuff for a second. Uh, later on in the video, I scrubbed through all the code in all the code meetings. And I'm thinking that there's actually another reason that Bubble might be like this. I'm going to go into it later. So, you'll see my realization point later, but there's something called a torment injection that Kane has been suffering with, and that might actually be what this is. I still think it could be Abel, but it could be a bit of B. Ah, okay. I wrote this whole script and then discovered the torment injection at the end and I was like, that kind of changes stuff. So, we'll get there. We'll get there. Anyway, I still think it could be Abel. I think the main point of here is whatever is happening with Bubble is an outside source. That'sing with Kane. I don't think it would actually be just Kane. I know Kane's insecure about stuff, but I don't think I don't think he would be he that was a little too mean to be just Kane. Not really a theory, but Kane also saying mind files.
Obviously, we can assume from that that it's the the files that he has when they came into the digital circus, right?
Could he also then know what everyone's thinking all the time? Like what is the limit on mind files? This is where I get really nerdy and weird because when they bring in like this technological element, it sort of is how much of it is actually based on technology like real world technology that we have and how much of it is fantasy silly digital circus, right? That's the question.
Where does mind files end? Cuz in your mind, there's a lot more than just your personality, right? There's what you're thinking at every point in time, every micro decision, every subconscious thought. Does he have access to all of those? I imagine he can't use them all the time. like he can't like look at them constantly because otherwise things like like the distraction scenes in various of the episodes wouldn't be able to happen if he could know what they're thinking at all times obviously. Does he have access to just know what they're thinking? Um cuz obviously he knows their deepest fears cuz we see it later on. But it's where does the mind files end? Either way, it's a massive invasion of privacy. But I don't think Kade really cares about that anymore. Another interesting line is Kane saying, >> "No, I fixed that."
>> In response to Bubble, which implies that his adventures were different at some point. Maybe he deemed them bad or someone else deemed them bad or maybe an abstraction was caused due to an adventure. It seems like the only sign to Kane of something bad is an abstraction because it's the only thing he doesn't have control over. Now, isn't that deep? The bomb imagery here is also super interesting. Um, it seems a little out of place on first look, but honestly, it could be foreshadowing for something in the next episode. We've seen that Goose isn't the type to put emphasis on something for no reason. And to be fair, I have like no clue of what could even happen in the next episode because where do we even go from here?
That being said, the trailer did just come out for episode 9. We'll look at that later.

>> And I was right. I feel like I said enough about this here. This part of the story was the part that I absolutely like hammered the nail on the head with with my theory, which I was clearly very proud of myself for. To be fair, it is the story of Kane and Abel from the Bible. And Kane's incessant need for control and to be loved showed that he probably had some equivalent of AI daddy issues, but being so correct about him being abandoned and replaced by another AI was just cinema. If you haven't seen my last T8C theory video, go look at it after this one. Now, with the added bonus of hindsight, god, this section is just so peak in every way. I think we all knew Kane's crash out was going to be coming for a while, but honestly, it didn't make it any less awesome. If you know anything about I have no mouth, but I must scream, you'll see that this episode is litted with references to that. I personally haven't read it. I know I really should, but from what I know about it, this speech reminds me a lot of am. And especially later on, there's a line that's literally a direct reference to it. Along with the absolutely stunning, stunning animation that I could have rambled about every single detail all day. The way this crash out actually affected him was so interesting. In the section after, you can still see him freaking out with the lightning. And I can't tell if it was just cinematic storytelling with some contrast or whether he was in some kind of overcharged state. Honestly, it was probably kind of both. Considering not a lot happens to do with the lightning for the rest of the episode, I reckon it was more of just a storytelling element and a physical display of power and a mindset shift rather than his actual powers changing. I'm not going to talk about these eyes for too long cuz I don't really think there's that much to say, but I think it really does solidify that the other blue guy, whether it's able or not, is still inside him. H, that sounds really weird. Inside his code, I think is a better way to phrase it. Anyway, >> or how about we skip the melodrama and get right to the fun. I told you they're getting sick of I told you Kane's getting sick of them. Kane's getting sick of them. I told I told I bet this was going to happen.

>> Do you have any idea how much I do for you guys? How much I obsess over trying to make things perfect? How many insults I have to ignore to do my job? You have a lot on your minds.

And in the past, like he's never really worried about something like this happening with Kane. But something really clicks with him in this episode, especially, we'll see it more later on. He's realizing along with everyone else that Kane is really a threat. It's like if you have like friend drama with someone you've known forever and then suddenly they like pull a knife on you and it's like, "Oh god, okay, I'm like actually in danger now."

>> I can't believe I was right. Everyone was like, "Oh my god, this I was right."

Also, completely different topic, but what is with Goose putting Jacks in really sexy outfits all the time. I also know there's like a ton of musical references in here, too. I have a friend who adors both musicals and Digital Circus, and she told me that this song reminded her of Razledazzle from Chicago and Wonkerman from I think that's how you say it from Cabbat. and I quote, "Kabbit fits cuz the entire show is basically all these terrible things are happening, but don't look at that. Focus on the pretty costumes and cool songs, which I know nothing about either of these songs, but if her description is accurate, then I think that fits pretty well."

Also, this scene is like so interesting to me because obviously they're all like so out of it, right? And Jax tries to start like he normally does, but not because he even believes it. I feel like he's just trying to get some semblance of normality back. He knows Zubu will normally give him some kind of reaction.
So, he's trying to poke the bear to make things feel like they normally do in his fake world that he's constructed. But right now, it's not even that they're like ignoring him or don't respect him anymore than they usually do. I feel like most of them just kind of understand his game now and just don't even care. One of my friends at Unity also pointed out to me that the time that Pomney is away with Kane lines up perfectly to the time that she was away in the trailer or like the teaser for the show, >> but I'm guessing it's not anything good.

>> I don't get to see what happened. Okay, this bit alone, there is just so much to talk about. So, we're going to split this into two bits. So, yeah, CNA is real. The observant among you will have been seeing CNA stuff literally since the pilot and everywhere else. And now confirming that CNA is a real company.
And as Kanger was talking about them making creative AI, it would make sense for the other AI that Kane got replaced with to be able. Something interesting I noticed here too, which I'm not sure if other people have pointed out because I I don't look at anything else. But Gangal saying >> they really made this game >> makes me think that Gangle was brought into the circus under the impression that it was a game cuz the digital circus on its own like it could be a game, but there's no like actual set in stone mechanics or anything that really is like hey this is a game. So unless you had some kind of previous intel from somewhere that it was a game, it would be odd to just like immediately assume that cuz it's not like she's asking being like, "So they made this program, they made this space that like the the immediate assumption that it's a game."
To be fair, that could come from like it being a VR, but I don't know. I feel like there's some kind of indicator that she would have been told previously by something or someone that, oh, this this thing you're doing is a game. You're testing a game. like just instantly assuming it's a game is is weird to do without immediate previous information because there's nothing inside the circus that's like this is a game. Like there's the adventures. Yeah.
But there's no mechanics to them. It's other than just what Kane makes. Like the the the place itself is just kind of a living quarters. Like there's no constant like there's no level up mechanics. Like I'm thinking about like other like media that like that are isekai with like you go into video games. The only other isekai media I've seen that's like a video game world is Rising of the Shield Hero. And that was many many many many many years ago, so I don't really remember very clearly, but I thinko is similar. Um, but I'm pretty sure all of those shows have like they have mechanics that's like this is a game, like you can tell that it's a game, whereas Social Circus doesn't really have that. Um, so I think Gengal immediately assuming it's a game means that she probably had some sort of outside information telling her that it was a game initially, so she just kind of went along with it. And considering Kinger said that Kane made the digital circus himself and it wasn't the original group's intention for him, it makes me believe that Kane was either working with some form of outside source or said outside source just did this on their own where they started putting people into the circus and lying to them and telling them that it was a game maybe for their own financial gain or just needed testers, which was what similar to Abel said. Or perhaps like the outside source just found this on their own in the time before Ragatha joined and just didn't know what would happen and tested it just on people.
Honestly, like who knows though? Like it it's really hard to try and decipher what direction this could point as this entire backstory and the basis of this part of the show is built on like deep run deception and false lies that these people have believed to be true and it's like ingrained in their head. So, it's trying to like you have to go back so far in their own memories to try and see what they can figure out and try and figure out where was the lie because of course they've all discovered now that Kane lies to them and maybe Abel was lying, but he might not have been knowing that he was lying or like it's sort of a whole thing of like there's a lot of different information coming from a lot of different angles. And Kane also having the ability to [ __ ] with their heads makes it really hard to know how much of the information we have is metaphorical or realistic or just completely fake as the entire digital circus walks that line very very haphazardly. So the characters they they kind of have to like see how far back they can go in their memories and see if they can figure out what was a lie and then try and piece together the reality from that. I think definitely having Kinger there was very helpful because he remembers things that he knows as fact, but I think everyone else is kind of struggling with like how much of what we know is the truth anymore because Kane can mess with them so we don't know how much control we have. It's very open-ended and that's why I like the show so much. I also always find it interesting that literally every single character in the show never uses their original name. Even now finding out that Kane wasn't his original name and we knew Abel wasn't his original name either, which is honestly probably why Kinger didn't recognize him in episode 7. But it is a really interesting note considering that the company is called CNA, which you'd assume is for Kane and Abel, which is the AI's names. But as far as we know, the company didn't name them that. They named themselves that. I do wonder if the naming convention is ever going to be explained. Side tangent, I am super duper curious as how they're going to do the last episode.
Looking at my script, at the time that I wrote this, uh, it hadn't been confirmed that it was going to be an hour long yet. I think in this post here, they confirmed that it was going to be an hour long. So, that's super exciting.
But, I feel like there is still a lot of loose ends that need to be tied up in one episode, which I'm honestly curious how they're going to do. To be fair, I I think we already know that the whole story isn't going to be wrapped up all nicely and tied with a bow because this this whole show is meant to be open-ended and vague, so it it would be kind of out of character for them to all be like explaining the entire ending and not leaving anything up to interpretation. But things like Jax's breaking of the fourth wall in early episodes, technically how King of Sanity works with the files and what about the darkness brings his mind back and the memory of his wife, how abstraction started forming and how much of the show was conjured by the players themselves accidentally, which honestly I'm sure they're going to do an amazing job with the finale like they always do and all of like the big main plot points will be answered. It's just that I'm a loser and look at like every tiny little detail.
So, it's the things like that that are going to be mainly the things that I'm curious about after the show ends. I don't think they're going to answer them all, honestly. And I wouldn't be mad if they didn't because then it leaves me more things to think about. But there are those little things like that that I I would like to know a set answer to.
Maybe even if it was just in like a Goose Works Q&A afterwards being like, "Hey, this is just like a tiny little thing like something that's not even important to the story at all." I just it's just a little thing I'm curious about. Now, let's talk about Scratch. We know Scratch is the dog character. We also know that Scratch is the main programmer on creating Kane. And we can also see Scratch very directly talking to or more talking at Kane in a probably not so happy tone. From what we get from Kanger, Scratch was a brilliant coder who is quite eccentric and from what it sounds like unfortunately had brain cancer. Kingo doesn't talk about Scratch too much, but there is a really interesting piece of symbolism here.
Kingo talks about Scratch trying to make something and they show a muffin cut in half. Putting on my tinfoil hat. This makes me think that Scratch was trying to work on a way to try and separate his mind from his body. Kinger said he had very abstract ideas and many other people on the team had trouble trying to understand his language. So, what would have been impossible for everyone else may have seemed like something completely reasonable to him. In what way he would achieve this using Kane, I'm not really sure about, but I reckon Scratch may have had a part in creating the system that stores all of their mind files and ended up getting them stuck in the circus. Without any other context, my best guess is that Scratch may have been trying to upload his consciousness and his mind files to the servers because he may have known his time was coming soon. But Kane having broken out of his cage and eaten the other AI at this point that may have caused it to go south, getting everyone else trapped in there instead of just the preservation of his own mind. Of course, this is all based on an alarming amount of circumstial evidence, but I feel like that's half the fun. The last thing we must talk about before continuing on this section, my poor poor boy. And by my poor boy, I mean this guy. He put himself in this situation. You had this coming, buddy. Of course, with the realization that Abel actually wasn't lying, and Kinger actually knew stuff about Cain and CNA, Jax is forced to face the realization he has slowly been trying to shove behind him for God knows how long, and all of his actions were real. Now, we still don't know a ton about Jax's real world situation and why he's so afraid of going back or accepting that everything that's happened here is real. But now he's forced to. And as you can see, he's really, really upset about it. I've been saying this for a while, but I never really thought Jax was going to abstract. To be fair, he got close last episode, but I still don't think he will, even with his false reality shattered. Of course, especially cuz now there's the question of like, how do abstractions even work now that everything's gone? Sorry, we'll get into that later.

Most of this part is relatively self-explanatory. It's just talking about how the rules of this world work.
There isn't much theory to have here. I think it's just I have one question. If we just learned that anyone can conjure anything, even Kinger saying he could conjure Kane's code into the computer, why couldn't we just conjure a computer?
I get the call back to earlier episode and storytelling wise, this was definitely cooler, but like what's the line with the conjuring? See, this is where I get really annoying when like the magic comes into play. I found out a couple days ago like in the Harry Potter universe apparently they can't conjure food. Like those wizards could have solved world hunger, but instead they're going around flying chasing a golden ball. I think I don't really know what happens in Harry Potter. I don't support JK Rowling, so I I wouldn't know. Um anyway, back on topic. Of course, she cuz she went through the the void, the exit door, and yeah, it's playing the same music.
So pretty. I love the soundtrack. Yeah, it's a reference to the pilot. Oh, dude.

Damn, she's strong. Those things are not light. Quick interruption with an idea I just had. We've only seen Pomni go through this exit door. Yeah. And in this scene, we see the broken and beaten down VR headset and sort of like the very abandoned looking office. What if this was specifically the building that Pomni went into that dragged her into the digital circus? She said before that she used to explore abandoned buildings, and honestly, it would make sense for the abandoned CNA building that we know as CNA to be where she found the headset and joined the circus. My only counterargument to that is I feel like she would have had more of a reaction upon seeing it for the first time.
Actually, to be fair, she did have quite a reaction to it. And maybe she didn't know this building was CNA when she originally went through the exit door cuz the only reason we know it's CNA was something that wasn't in her line of sight. I don't know. There's there's a lot for against this. I'm also curious like what caused this shaking. I'm guessing that it was meant to just be like a show of Kane's instability at the time. But that also begs the question of like if Pomney is conjuring this, is it still in Kane's code? Is Pomni still in the circus here? Is there another server outside the circus? What qualifies as the circus? And what is the external server here? Cuz what about the void?
Where does the void play in all of this?

Let's go back a bit, though. But first off with the yelling at Kane segment. I absolutely adore how each of the things they're saying resonates so heavily with their characters. Pomny talking about how Kane doesn't listen and his selfishness when she expresses discomfort or dislike. Zubel insulting Kane's maturity. Ragatha talking about how she never feels safe or comfortable and how Kane doesn't do anything to try and help that. Gangel talking about how she feels discouraged thinking creatively. And Jax talking about how Kane lies to them all the time. And then the nightmare sequences.
Okay, it really shows that Kane like does have access like he has he can see their mind files to a certain extent.
Well, maybe to all extent. We don't know the extent that Kane can see their mind files, but we do know that he can see their darkest fears and he is purposely trying to scare them into behaving.
Pomni is with one of the only people she really felt connected to in the circus and Kane showing that he has full control over him and how he is really just one of Kane's creations. Raggatha with the imagery of who I assume to be her mother who she didn't have an overly healthy relationship with. Also tying into her whole ragd doll imagery by being used and thrown around as a punching bag or a knife cushion in this case. It looks with how her mom like looks at her after that as well that as well as how Ragatha reacts to the extra knife that it was a case of her mom would often launch insults at her and passive aggressive comments in her real life and she just had to cope with that as she talked about in episode 5 which honestly Kane you're kind of sick for that man that's kind of okay pause to look at the coding text so first 1996 10:30 that's a huge piece of information is that implying that today is that date or the last time he logged in was that date cuz we don't actually know when this show is set or if time moves here or how it works at all. It could have been the 30th of October 1996 for like 20 years now here. Who knows? The only thing we really do know about when this is set is that YouTube exists in the outside world. And I think that's really funny that that is the only solid piece of information that we have apart from this obviously now. So, if that's representing today's date, then it's probably been that time for a long time and only in the digital circus, as YouTube didn't exist in 1996. It's also interesting to me that it's called the digital circus mainframe and that Kinger has a login and password for it, considering the digital circus was entirely Kane's creation. It was initially called Kinger Solution 2.0, which honestly could be why his digital circus name is Kinger if that was like the original name for the thing he was creating. I have a lot of questions here, but I feel like with the whole conjuring element, a lot of them can just be written off as it's conjuring, which is fine because this whole show walks the line between reality and digital very, very, very oddly. But I do find both his login being Ker and his password being Queeny, which is first off adorable, but secondly, it's kind of odd considering Kinger probably hasn't actually accessed this code since before he was in the digital circus. So why his slogans would be his circus name and how he would even know that that's the case is a little confusing. Again, this all could be written off as it's conjuring, but I would be curious to see if there's an actual answer for that. Gangles is an interesting sequence. The canvases in Mask Melting obviously dives into Gangle's mental space a lot. I'm not going to go into their mental spaces too much because nothing has really changed since the last time I talked about it, which was in this video. Again, go watch it when you're done this one. But the one thing I am really interested about is the truck being repeated from episode 4. If it was just in episode 4, then like sure, sure, it's a it's a coincidence. But have it happening again here makes me think that in episode 4 it might have been conjured by Gangal accidentally or by Kane, honestly. But considering everything is being taken in these nightmare sequences from their mind files, I think it was probably Gangal. Little trigger warning for a minute about suicide. Uh, skip to this time stamp if you don't want to hear about it. Knowing what we know about Gengal's past and mental health issues, it unfortunately wouldn't surprise me if she was suicidal either currently or at one point in her life, which I think is kind of the obvious symbolism for this truck hitting her. And I think with the second repeat after episode 4, it's a unfortunately a fairly obvious sign.
Zubul is one of my favorites visually. I feel as though the representation is relatively obvious considering what we know about Zub's body dysmorphia. So, I don't really have a lot to say about this one apart from just the composition in it is so stunning. Jax's is interesting. Obviously, we know that Jax puts on loads of facades and hides himself behind his humor and mischief.
But this one really shows that one of his deepest fears is being seen for who he really is and not just having people he cares dislike it, but laughing at him, ridiculing him, and mocking him for who he is underneath all of his tough exterior. So he's mean to everyone and pushes everyone away first so that no one can see who he is and the situation can never happen to him. Also, the only three people here being Kofmo, Ribbit, and Pomny really make sense as to why Jax pushed away Pomni. I mean, the two other people he cared about have abstracted. That's got to be rough, man.
And I've talked about this before, but Goose said that the worst thing that Jax has ever done, we'll see with our own eyes. And my biggest theory is that Jax was the reason that Ribbit abstracted.
Like it was his fault or he blames himself for it. Again, I talk about this theory more in this video, so go watch it if you're interested. And we don't really know what happened with Kofmo, but from the small lines and interactions we have had with Jax to do with Koffmo, it's a very toughen up what a snowflake kind of appearance, which we do get from Jax a lot, but it rarely actively portrays how he feels. In The Nightmare, it shows Jax actively getting his skin torn off, symbolizing his facade being ripped to shreds and feeling naked underneath, which is just such amazing character writing. I've talked about Jax a lot before, so I'm not gonna make this entire video a Jaxi app fest, but he is my favorite character for a reason. Okay, back to King is text. Now that we started to get into a bit of the more complicated language, I decided to call up one of my friends who does engineering and also knows how to code to see if he could help me deduce what any of this meant.
What are we thinking?
>> You can see every command that's executed has the dollar symbol next to it because every time Yeah, cuz you can see like king at circus dollar sign. So that probably be So that would be a command. So Linux or Mac OS is likely the operating system. Then he's run Grep. So that's to determine the location. So he's done something. I'm not >> He's done something.
>> He's found files. Stop cane process is really funny. I don't know if that works, but >> he's trying.

>> What is the root? Do you know that?
>> Yeah. So root is typically like a highlevel operator. So have you ever heard of like pseudo?
>> No.
>> Okay. So basically pseudo stands for I believe super user do. It's basically just saying I want to call the highest level of operator on this computer which has access to everything. That's typically the root. So the root is just your it's like your god of your computer. He can do whatever he wants and he doesn't care. Uh typically it's not accessed by any normal profile on your computer. It's a special additional one that you have to run commands through root on your personal file on your personal account. So you would run a command to access root and then root would run a command for you. So that's what root means. I would expect. I'm just curious how much of this is like legible versus like how much of it is digital circus stuff.
>> All the slashes and stuff are typically denote file locations. So for example, back slash user back/ module would be a file system. So you've got the user folder, AI folder, module folder, and then brain scans folder, right? So that's usually what that means. I don't know what it means in this circumstance, though.
>> Well, I imagine it's from it's supposed to be set in 1996, so I imagine it's relatively old. In case you're curious, the icon for the recycle bin has changed for every version of Windows.

So, the terminal might not be running on Windows. The computer that they're on is the one that Pomny's like exit room space thing. So that could have been from 1998. It says in the section, but it's like root wheel blah can cord like and then it has the date on each of them. I'm curious if that's him starting up if it was starting in 1996. The dates that are interesting cuz it says October 15th, 1996 is when Kane started. But then on the first screen it said the 30th of October was when Kinger was logging into >> Yeah. Okay. So, there's like a bunch of confusing things with the dates because we assumed that all of the people in like the original Kinger code came in at the same time, but if Kane started 3 years ago and then Scratch is 1999, which is the same date but 3 years later. There's just a lot of questions I think with the dates in terms of trying to get a timeline.

You also have an error here which is interesting cuz you got GDB trace operation not committed cuz the line above it for that error to appear I think that means he has to execute a program or a command which will mean he's executing something with that it'll be clisp I presume cuz that's the furthest down the directory but I don't know >> it's okay I don't understand anything you're saying so >> he's located a file right yeah >> user binary or bin if you want gdb user local bin cla >> oh yeah clip yeah >> that's the so cl would be the last file in that chain right So imagine you have like a folder chain and you're going down the folders but except it's in the terminal. And then like in reality it wouldn't be a program file cuz you need like an executable file instead of it. But if we suspend our disbelief a little bit and say it is an executable file, then 1337 would be your um parameters for that, right? In theory, if we're suspending our disbelief a little bit, >> I just don't know what you're talking about. I just do not understand at all.
But you say stuff and I'll edit it together and then anyone in my chat or my audience who knows what's going on, they can take whatever believes they want from it. He attempts to change the permission of presumably Kane's AI system because he's probably locked it, right? Yeah. The chod would probably be I assume 00 is some code for like not protected or something. I don't know.
But and then he's attempting to change the permissions of that system and then he gets blocked again. Wait, he RMs it.
Wait, that's crazy. Um, for reference, RM is removed, so he tries to delete it.

It's an interesting use of the word paraphernalia as well because it paraphernalia normally refers to little objects and things associated with a hobby or memories or or something like that. So, encoding a paraphernalia engine is just something to note. What also interests me is that the Wacky Watch and Bubble Chef having their own like files here. Like it it makes sense in the large game cuz you'd assume that this list would be like like everything that's in the circus like all of the all of the AI. I use that term very loosely.
Just all of like the the knowledge, the code. I I don't understand if you think you understand what I'm saying. Like this list would be everything that is probably in the digital circus that has its own coding programs to it, right?
whether they're initially human or initially AI or blah blah blah something else. But having the Wacky Watch and Bubble Chef both highlighted here, something that's just interesting because like those two slots could be taken by anything and they chose those one, especially cuz the Wacky Watch has only been mentioned once in like an off bit in the first episode. And also, Bubble being shown as just Bubble Chef here makes me think that Bubble was only meant to be created as a chef, but maybe became something more later on. Maybe possibly due to another AI joining its code. But that's just a theory. A game theory.
>> Yeah. Okay. You see at the top where it says only root can do that. So that's so root is the highest level operating system.

>> Okay. No. So that depends. In real world examples, root is always the highest in any computer system. It cannot be overridden unless you're like really good.

And then your d-dam-target torment injection and whatever that simple amperand. Those are your uh parameters usually. So they go into the program and tell it what you want it to do.

So, you can set a specific variable to be one specific thing. So, I suspect that would mean he's setting the variable called target to be torment injection maybe. I don't know. I I haven't done enough Linux coding to know.

What the We see Ker try to stop Kane.
Doesn't work. Some more mumbo jumbo happens here that I don't fully understand, but anyone who is following Panda's yap about it, I'm sure can take something away from that. 57 is also mentioned there again, as it is in every episode. Also, a call back to one of the earlier episodes. From what I got from Panda, Kinger is trying to access Kane's core files, but can't go in there considering it's unfinished. But then he tries to remove the paraphernalia engine but can't due to not being able to inject torment as it all must be accidental which on top of it being a reference to an earlier episode leads me to believe that maybe the paraphernalia engine is something that is actively tormenting Kane. I mean it would make sense considering his obsession with office spaces and little things like that. His craving for nostalgia and not to be abandoned by CNA again. Maybe that jealousy was created artificially by Kane's creators who might have been physically injecting this torment into him by parading who he once was. I would also like to say the folder names from this first section up here. Now, I'm not going to say that I was right. But I did talk about Kan and Ael being a social experiment for AI. I'm just saying. But then again, this could be about consciousness research in people rather than AI, as both Scratch and Ragatha are in here. As cool as this all is as well, I I do have one note. I kind of wish that instead of having their circus names here, which I do understand is that like the files here have been renamed, which I think is what those square brackets mean around it is that like it's been renamed from its original name. So I' I'd assume the original name of it was their actual names. But but I kind of wish that it did actually have their real names and their actual dates and then us as the audience would have to try and figure out who's who. There wouldn't be any way to tell, right?
Don't get me wrong, I think this is cool as hell anyway, but I think it could have been a cool detail to break into the real world a little bit more.
Skipping Kane's dialogue for now, which don't worry, we'll get back to it. It is too juicy not to. But I wanted to look at the second part of King's typing. As Panda noted earlier, whatever Kinger tried to do, the route stopped him.
Whether that's Kane or not, it did trigger Kane's attention as his hundreds of allseeing eyes are now watching you.
And you can see the dollar sign that Kane starts writing his own text rather than the system command feedback. I think I don't really understand code or numbers or any of that. So, this is just my best guess of what's going on. But, you can see Kane's now noticed Kinger and is doing something and starts a timer of wacky lockout. Hilarious name to try and stop King Ker. Kinger tries to stop it. Kane asks what authority he has and Kinger tries to change the parameter to torment injection, which is why I said earlier that I think Kane's creators are the ones tormenting him, possibly as a way to try and control him. Clearly Ker knows what a torment injection is. And it's something that was programmed into Kane's code at some point. And I mean, just by the name, it doesn't seem like something that would be overly fun for Kane to experience.
Kane notices his attempt to do that and gives us a new Kinger name drop. I immediately thought of Gano for some reason, but Grant is probably the more realistic option. So, holy [ __ ] Kinger's name is Grant. That's huge.
Well, maybe allegedly. Panda said some more about this that I didn't understand, but from here on it's just an interaction of Kinger trying to stop the lockout, as far as I'm aware. The paraphernalia word is brought up once more. So, that was clearly some important part of Kane's coding process or the consciousness experiments or whatever his true purpose was created for. Kane tries to force the safest option for stability, for whatever that means, and Kinger attempts to stop him.
Kinger tries to bring the backup instead, but apparently backup C doesn't exist despite it being one of the options, which makes me think Kane deleted it, which makes me even more curious as to what was once in there.
Interestingly enough, the empty backup makes the system default to being deleted. Kingo tries to stop this, and this next bit gets a little hard to read because the screen is filled with Kane, but after he says no, there's a pop-up saying inverting to blank PR emergency protocols. Unsure what that word is, but after Kane says, "Delete this motherfucker." and then laughs about it, which I think is hilarious. And in response to this, Ker just says no, to which he gets completely ignored and is processing with the original D. At this point, it's like really hard to read what he's saying. But I think that Kane is probably in complete control right now more than any of the computer systems are. Or Kanger also because he starts saying that he's confused and then says, "Let me help blank module to exist. I don't know what the blank is."
Whatever it is, Kanger says yes. And then Ker tries to what it looks like switch over reality, whatever the that means with the torment injections and two other programs with some stuff in the middle. The sentence was really hard to decipher. Okay, here's the interesting bit. It's framed like Kinger accidentally deleted Kane. But when it says, "Are you sure you want to delete Kane?" He says yes. To be honest, I don't know how code works. Maybe if you just press the delete button, it just like presses the Y button to like to like delete it. Or maybe they just had him press the delete button for like narrative purposes and then they show it in the code through the Y cuz then he aborts the roll back and cancels it.
This bit I really don't understand. So if any coders can give me some insight, please do. But if he didn't delete Kane, the destructive wacky lockout had finished so he would have been kicked out. Anyway, back to Kane's freak out. I honestly feel kind of bad for him after reading some of the code. I mean, when he says the line, >> "Why do you people torment me?" He would have seen Kinger trying to inject the torment into him cuz he reacted to it.
And he sees all humans the same. So it would make sense that he would blame them for that. And to be fair, if CNA were injecting torment into him and forcing him to feel like this all the time, I think this reaction makes sense.
Is it reasonable or sane? No, not at all. But listen to this man. It has to be created.
I just wanted to hell my purpose. He has been created as an essentially sentient AI forced into existence with a purpose to try and make people happy and then pretending my theory is true being experimented on and tormented by the same people that brought him into this world. That sucks, man. So, is it right for him to be taking it out on these guys? No, of course not. They didn't do anything. And am I saying it's completely wrong for Kinger and his team to try and have some kind of failsafe or fall back plan if something like this were to happen and to try and re Kane back a bit? Not in theory. But that's the problem with creating an entirely sentient AI is that what point is he your creation? And at what point is he just a person now? If he has sentience, consciousness, and can feel things like pain, torment, and jealousy, where's the line between artificial experiments with a computer and genuinely tormenting a sentient creature? When watching this the first time, my opinions of Kane were pretty typical and surface level. He got sick of everyone being upset and with his struggles to understand empathy. He got frustrated and annoyed with how standoffish people were being. I mean, they had their rights to be, but he lashed out because of it. But with this extra element of torment injection, it brings an entirely new viewpoint to his side of the story. Considering how this rage may have been forced upon him, and yet he's being punished for it. Of course, a lot of this is very circumstantial. I'm not saying any of this with any sort of 100% fact. I make these videos because I enjoy talking about hypotheticals and theorizing, not because I think everything I say is 100% correct. So, please take all of this with a grain of salt. And now, the final bit once Kane was deleted. I don't have a lot to say about this. Honestly, there's a lot unanswered, which makes it hard for me to even make a basis of what could even possibly happen next, considering like where do we go from here? The only real basis I have is like what happens now to the digital space/ the circus now that Kane is gone. We see it break a little. Yeah. But I'm curious as to what will happen if whether it was just Kane's core files that were deleted or whether some of the other stuff that was there is still there like the paraphernalia engine or anything else that may have been assumed to be taken with him. I'm also wondering something that I think is a relatively common thought of what happens to the abstractions now cuz after we know that we'll really know where the abstractions come from. When the episode came out my friend asked me this question. So episode 8 confirms that the characters can and have conjured things by accident before the exit door. So, my theory is this. Since abstraction seems to be a very out-of- body experience, did Kane in his panic attack accidentally conjure the hand that made him almost abstract?
Was it an actual hand that drove him crazy when he touched it, or am I just thinking way too much about this? And I said, hm, I mean, that brings the question of is abstraction a conjuring of everyone going mad? Abstractions have always been something out of Kane's control, but whether they are conjured or just files corrupting or from something else doesn't really change the outcome of them. Abstractions have always been something that happens when people lose their minds here. So, it makes sense it would be an accidental conjuring, but it also could be just a glitch in the files. The only way to know will be to see what happened to the other abstractions now that Kane is deleted. He was definitely going crazy before touching the hand. And I think the hand was most definitely a hallucination/ a conjuring if it was real. It was just a side effect, but since the mind and the digital world is so wishy-washy in the digital circus, whether it was a hallucination or conjuring wouldn't have changed the outcome. So, I think that sums up pretty well what I think about that. Now, uh, the original video was actually going to end here. However, hello, editing cab here. I just want to apologize for my dumbass. In this next section, I reacted to the episode 9 trailer, and it was meant to be all good and perfect, but I forgot to turn my mic on. So, here's the entire thing with my camera audio. I'm so sorry, but I couldn't re-record it and have it be legit again. So, I'm so sorry. I'm so excited to watch this. So, I've seen this. I watched it when it came out, but I don't remember a lot about it honestly cuz it was kind of like on a passing. I was outside and I was like, "Holy, Trailer dropped." I've seen that it's coming to theaters, which is awesome. I've also seen Okay, by seen I mean I may have lied earlier. I do go on one social media and that is LinkedIn. I go on LinkedIn relatively often because all I see on there is really sick animations and animation stuff and stuff from companies that is sick and it's cool. So, I see glitches post on there and apparently people were like flaming them for having like the two weeks like it comes out in theaters two weeks before on YouTube which I get but I think like honestly it's annoying.
Yes. But considering having something like this in theaters is such a huge thing. I think we can wait 2 weeks chat.
As someone who's not getting any theaters cuz I live in Australia right currently as of me recording this there's no theaters in Australia which obviously it kind of sucks that I can't see it when everyone else does but equally like I would much rather it just feels like something that's bigger than me now, right? I feel this is something that's bigger than Digital Circus. This is paving a new way for the animation industry and is someone going into the animation industry. I'm very excited about it. Dude, I would love to work at Glitch one day. That's the goal. Low key. Don't tell them I said that. I don't want to look like a fan. I don't want to look like a fan. I say, "Okay, let's watch the Oh god. Oh god. Oh god.

I really, really, really hope they bring to Oz soon. I literally live in the same city as Glitch. Come on, man. I know. I know they're trying their best. This is not a harassment thing at all. I completely understand. Well, I obviously have experienced it, but I can think about how hard this would be to do considering this was a indie animation going to theaters. It's crazy. So, take as long as you need, glitch, if I don't get to watch it in theaters, that's completely okay. I'm so fine with that.
I mean, iron paved the way, which was a amazing movie. Now, Glitch, you can do it, too. You can do it too, Glitch. But, let's go through it. So, something I did immediately notice how heavy Jax is in this trailer. Like, I get he's everyone's favorite characters, but this seems like something that's beyond everyone's favorite characters cuz I know in most of this video I was talking about like, oh, Bubble and Abel, they're like their connections are there and like they're the big secret thing. I have a feeling Jax is going to everything up cuz I mean, he already almost did in episode 7 and they didn't really develop on that at all in episode 8. Like, they talked about it at the beginning a little bit and then everyone Pony was kind of like, "Hey, we shouldn't like fight each other." And then everyone's like, "Yeah, true." But we didn't like we didn't understand why Jax did that. We have lots of ideas and I've obviously been through lots of theories, but we don't actually know why he did that. So, I have a feeling Jack's going to [ __ ] everything up, which honestly I'm lowkey kind of fine with.
He's my sprinkling floor, but not because like I think he's awesome and really cool. It's because I think he's like awful. I love him because he's horrible. That's why I love him. He's horrible and I I don't want to fix him.
It's not like a I can fix him. It's a I want to observe him be horrible because I want to tear his brain apart and eat it for breakfast. Anyway, neurody divergence. You get me? Anyway, let's go through this. So, this is obvious. It's the digital circus now. Kane's gone. Everything's lost its color. I'm interested if the Here's the thing where all the technical elements come in again. I'm interested if the losing of its color is literally like a cane technical thing that there's no color in anything now because he's gone or if it's just a visual effect.
Honestly, I don't think it would make that big of an impact either way, but bear with me.

They don't actually know a lot about this world that they live in. Like, they've always the person, you know, Kane says like, "Don't bite the hand that feeds when it's the only hand you're getting." That one he they don't have a hand anymore. There's no hand.
So, they're kind of just alone in this wasteland now with no direction, which I'm sure they're all regretting.

Let's go back a little bit. There's color in this shot. Is this a flashback or is this like a current thing? Cuz hi, Jax. He's scary. I'm actually kind of freaked out by him right now. I'm going to look over here. This feels like some sort of flashback cuz there's color. I think that's the that's the most like thing that makes sense obviously because that's conjure color back or something.
Maybe he's trying to like get things to return back to normal cuz I feel like Jax's whole thing is that like he doesn't he like hates change which I mean most people do but I mean he hates change to the point that he's trying to like delude himself and force himself into pretending that nothing is real and nothing has changed. So that that line now we have nothing ties in the thing I think a lot with why Jax chose the red button in episode 7 was that he has something whether he hates it or not he has something and he has some form of stability in the digital circus and he gave up on leaving a long time ago and now he has something and now the Kane's gone. Yeah man, it's just a wasteland now. There's nothing there anymore. It's literally just a wasteland. Pomi sounding like she's going to cry is going to break my heart by the way. I don't think we've ever had Pomi crying yet. Have we? I don't think we have.
We've had her freaking out, but I don't think we've ever had her crying. And the sound of her crying is going to shatter my heart into a million pieces, by the way. Someone come get her. Someone come pick her up. I will come pick her up. I can't drive. Nor do I think a car could get into the digital circus, but I will come pick her up. I got you. Go.
Oh, it's just I don't know why I'm screaming. He's just upset about something. There's Ker probably REGRETTING HIS ACTIONS. OH, you know how Kanger was like, "I hate myself for the things that I thought I was responsible for." that could totally come back here cuz now it's another thing that obviously everyone's really upset about Kane going not like because like they have no direction anymore. They've lost everything and that could be another really interesting thing of Ko being like I did it again. I feel like a lot of this episode is just going to be people really reaching their mental breaking point like properly because I mean we saw Jack a little last episode of that happening with like he was over the banister and was like oh my god this is real now I think this is really like I mean it's the it's the finale of course this is going to be where it's happening. Jack's looking all static.
Maybe he's just got really bad pins and needles. I don't know. I don't think it is. But I really hope these scenes are connected. I don't think it is cuz the lighting is completely different. But it would be really cool if Jackson was really scared of his friends. You see what I mean? I want this man to suffer so badly.

That's cool. Some stairs. We haven't seen those stairs before. Gangle freaking out. Oh, that's the that's the plastic mask that's also in color. Is that background in color? There seems to be like orange reflections. So, this might also be a flashback cuz that's the mask from episode 4. I really think Jax is going to be a really big part of this episode. I think he's going to be the one that really everything up for everyone and I'm really looking forward to it. I'm also really glad we finally get to see the Ribbit model. I know we've seen like bits of it, but I've been looking forward to seeing the full ribbon model. I also had one of my friends point out that Ribbit, I don't know if this isn't really a theory, it's just an interesting thing. Ribbit and Jax have like relatively similar like skin textures, I guess. Like they're relatively similar in that they look really doughy and they're just kind of smooth. And they had a thought that maybe Jax modeled himself after Rivet, but I don't know about that because we see the whole thing of the skin getting t torn off and his like yellow form underneath, but we don't know if that's I don't personally think that that's like his like original form and that he modeled himself. I think he's still just being the rabbit. But it is interesting how they are so similar. I can't believe it's ending, dude. As someone who has been watching Glitch since the second episode of Murder Drones aired, this is awesome. This is so awesome for me to see. Like, I remember all of the hype leading up to Digital Circus. I remember all the teasers. I remember everything that was coming out to do a Digital Circus. And this was before I started talking about animation and art online cuz at the time I was just doing like other stuff on YouTube. And so, I didn't really speak about it publicly, but I was I remember I found clips of the Murder Drones pilot on Tik Tok many, many, many, many years ago. and I watched it and fell in love with it. And then Digital Circus Pilot came out and obviously that was a success overnight.
That went huge. And it's like seeing Glitch come this far. Like I remember a con that I went to a very long time ago now. It was before Digital Circus came out and it was I think they'd only released a couple of episodes of Murder Drones and I went to an Aussie convention and there was a glitch booth there, but it was really small and there was only maybe one or two people manning it and it was just one of the smaller ones in the corner. There was no one there except for the people that were um manning the booth. There was no one lining up and it just had a few pieces of murder drone merch and I saw it. I was like, "Holy [ __ ] murder drones."
And I ran up to it and I bought so much.
I bought um I bought this goober and I bought um a murder drones poster which I unfortunately don't have anymore because it got really old and ripped cuz it went through like three different moves with me. So I unfortunately don't have it anymore. But I got a murder drones poster. I got an N hoodie. I got the N hat. I got so much [ __ ] I got an N keychain. I love N if you can't tell. I do have a second Murder Drones poster there which I ordered online later which is the shocket horror like movie one. I [ __ ] love murder drones. I always have. But I remember there was no one there and I was so excited about murder drones and I bought so much stuff and I was buzzing but like it there was no one there. And then back in September I went to another con and there was a massive glitch booth there. There was a massive glitch booth there. It made and it was like constantly surrounded by people.
Within the first day they were sold out of all their stuff. And it it made me so happy. It made me so nostalgic to come back to the same con multiple years later and just see how far Glitch has come since I first started watching them. And it's like, oh, oh man, that's so cool. Paving the way for indie animation. And I mean, Glitch is definitely one of the reasons that I went into my animation degree, right?
They have inspired me to be the next generation. To be fair, I've been a storyteller for long before long before Glitch. But it it's really awesome to see how far they've come. So, I'll leave you on this. I'm sure the Digital Circus finale is going to be absolutely amazing. Whether my theories are right or wrong or you agree with them or you don't, I'm sure we're all going to enjoy this episode a lot. And huge, huge shout out to Goose Works and everyone who worked on Digital Circus after now going through more of my animation degree.
