First, the good news. The universe is not speeding up. Every clock on Earth is ticking at the exact same rate it always has. The speed up is happening entirely inside your head. Because your brain doesn't measure time with a clock, it measures it with memories. Ask yourself how long a year was and your brain doesn't count the days. It counts how much it remembers. More memories, longer year. Fewer memories, shorter year. And as a kid, you were a memory-making machine. Everything was the first time.
First bike, first day of school, first time you tasted something sour and made the face. Your brain was recording all of it in high definition. Now, back to that man from 1877.
