Why has Armenia's civil society been silent?

[00:00:00]There's very few {quote} NGOs if it's they're non-government uh organizations in Armenia because I think after 2018 they've become part of the government.

[00:00:09]With rare exceptions, there are exceptions. For the most part they're governmental organizations. And they will never say anything. Uh Here you have I mean we have, you know, uh women's rights or women's resources center or women resource centers here and there and uh you've had the leader of the country manhandle a woman physically uh and denigrate mothers of dead soldiers and they don't say a word.

[00:00:35]Uh because for them uh the re-election of this government is more important than uh their essentially that they're what what should be their mandate or their principles.
