[00:00:00]hi there students in this video I'm going to talk about the group of words that go with Barbarian so a barbarian is somebody who is uncultured somebody who you consider um violent and are less socially Advanced so the city of Constantinople was attacked by hordes of Barbarians Conan the Barbarian this is somebody who is not civilized um this is somebody from a violent and socially uh backward uh Society you can also call um somebody a barbarian who has no interest in art or in culture um for example if you take a a WI a 20y old whiskey or 25y old whiskey and put cocacola in it to drink it that's well that's the act of a barbarian and I think you you could call jokingly somebody who does something rather uncivilized a barbarian or you take a really nice uh bordeau wine and you uh mix it with lemonade that that's Pro probably an act of a barbarian as well um okay so let's see Barbarian we have barbaric which is an adjective barbarically um barbarous barbarously barar barbarism a barbarity okay so something that is uh barbaric is something that is done by a by our Barbarian um this is something that is extremely cruel and unpleasant um some people think that killing animals like bull fighting for pleasure is barbaric or that [Music] um fox hunting is a barbaric sport then we could have um barbarus which is a bit more formal than bar barbaric but it's also an adjective bar barbarous extremely cruel um failing to reach um acceptable social standards so his actions were uh barbarous the murder was a barbarous act how can they forgive me for such bar barbarous Behavior I think here barbarous like a like a barbarian um okay this is barbaric this is something that is unacceptable um carried out by a uh a barbarian um he was barbarically rude um the police were accused of Behaving uh as barbarically as um the criminals they had arrested um it that some people think that it is barbarically cruel to uh keep keep animals in factory farms um so the this I these ideas these are either things that are extremely cruel and unpleasant um there were horrible acts of barbarism carried out during uh the war there were many barbarities committed a barbarity cruel cruel acts this the dictator uh committed many barbaric acts he um acted barbarously in a way that failed to reach accept acable social standards um so the um the the the the protesters were treated barbarously by the um police of uh the dictator um the th this clearly is a barber murder the person was murdered barbarously um the Invaders barbarously vandalized uh the church and burned the uh Hanging Gardens of Babylon so barbarous Barbarian um an act of barbarism is an an act of uh of Cruelty um let's see barbaric if something's barbaric it's extreme it's extremely cruel it's extremely um unpleasant um th th this is something that is is barbaric it's very brutal very very nasty um barbarism the um the civilization fell and Society went back to barbarism um um I think a barbarism as well can be an a an error in language like a mispronunciation within within a single word okay so um barbarism this this all of this comes from um the the the an uncivilized person from Latin barbarus a foreigner or a Savage barbaros in ancient Greek foreign or strange so something that's barbarous it's uncivilized it's merciless it's rude and violent and cruel and Savage yeah it sounds like uh um s something that that is is barbarous is um very unfair um so yeah barbarism the the state of barbarism formality I think all of these I'm going to give a five in formality I think you could use them anywhere so barbaric barbarically barbarism barbarous barbarously barbarity Barbarian
