>> One passing motorist shot this video right after the crash just after 2:30 this morning. You can see people being evacuated off the bus. one police officer there on scene almost immediately.
>> I wonder if they their brakes went out or something.
>> It missed us and it could have been us because we had just hit that lane and you know I'm like we just we just dodged, you know, dodged a bullet, but man, when I hear people that actually I was hoping that nobody actually died.
Stafford County fire officials say five people were killed, 37 injured in the crash. Four people in one SUV died at the scene. A couple in their mid-40s, a 13-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy. A passenger in that car, which caught fire, was critically injured and flown to a hospital in Fairfax County. So, we've got an approximately 25-year-old male that was found uh as a passenger rear seat in an SUV that had heavy damage and three fatalities in the same vehicle. Our thanks to Bob Barard there. In other news, President Trump says he no longer has any interest in renovating the Kennedy Center. this after a federal judge blocked him from shutting down the venue and struck down the decision to add his name. The judge called the board's vote on the two-year closure for major renovations illinformed. He also said only Congress has the authority to change the Kennedy Center's name, so Trump's name must come down. The president attacked the judge on social media. And another hit for Trump, a different federal judge in Alexandria temporarily blocked his anti-weaponization fund. The $ 1.7 billion dollar settlement came from Trump's lawsuit against the IRS. It's been criticized as a slush fund for the president's allies with no public oversight. The block stops the government from moving forward. A hearing is scheduled for June 12th. The Trump administration in Iran painting different pictures tonight over the current ceasefire. President Trump held a two-hour meeting at the White House today in the site the situation room.
However, it's not clear if any decisions were made. Iranian state media claims the draft agreement does not prevent Iran from collecting tolls in the street of Hermoose unfreezes about 12 billion dollars in Iranian assets and contains no nuclear related clauses.
>> We're trying to do the best we can with the leverage that we have to be able to limit them as much as possible.
>> Gas prices continue to dip but remain on average higher than they were the same time last year. AAA reports Americans are paying about $4.30 and 30 cents per gallon. Let's turn our attention to this gorgeous weather on this gorgeous Friday. A live look now from our Fox 5 Sky Cam. Caitlin Roth joining us now.
And Caitlyn, we're ending the week pretty nicely.
>> I know. You know, I feel like today is one of the nicest days we've had all year.
>> Oh my god. That's That's pretty big.
>> I know. I know. It's really like a big declaration to say like this is one of the best that we've had or will have all year, but it kind of just >> Oh, this sets the bar, but we're only going up, right?
>> No, we are. It's so >> and hotter and more humid and all those things.
>> We will do [laughter] all of that.
Depends on how you feel about all of that. But yeah, today beautiful Kenneth.
This weekend looks really nice, too. So hopefully I make up for >> Oh, so this should be Memorial Day weekend. Really? It should. Well, some years it is in the end of May. Like it came early this year.
>> It did. It did. So, we should always be aware when it's early.
>> And I think that because of the Earth axis, the rotating that messed it up for us. Like, this is supposed to be the nice holiday weekend.
>> The weather begins. I know. You're so right. If only we could get that Earth to tilt accordingly and line up with the way that we know the weather should be for the end of May, which yes, last week so dismal. This week, absolutely making up for it. Tomorrow, a little bit cooler even than today. So, as everybody's anxious to get to the pools, which opened last weekend, but you couldn't go to them, or maybe head to the beach, just keep in mind it's not overly hot just quite yet, we'll have very comfortable weather this weekend. It stays nice into next week, and then by next weekend, it looks like it'll really start to warm up. We hit 80° today, uh, totally normal for this point in May.
We're now averaging highs [clears throat] at 80. So, it is typical. And when you have low humidity and sunshine and a nice breeze, 80° feels amazing. So temperatures right now ranging from the mid to upper 70s to the low 80s. Due points are only in the 40s and the low 50s. So we remain very dry.
It is going to stay that way through the weekend. We will not see any high humidity until maybe next Friday at the earliest. And even then, it doesn't look so bad. The worst of the humidity will be well out to the west. So, high pressure overhead and we've got clear skies tonight, falling back to that low temperature of 61°. The cool front comes through dry, just a little bit of cloudiness tomorrow. Otherwise, uh we'll have sunshine and temperatures in the low 70s. And then by Sunday, a little bit warmer, uh splitting hairs here, but 72 on Saturday, 76 on Sunday. Just a passing shower possible Monday and Tuesday. Otherwise, we're dry, we're comfortable, sunshine to end the week, and by next Friday, temperatures in the mid 80s. Kenneth, back to you, >> Kaitlin. Thank you. DC police activating more juvenile curfew zones for the weekend. The latest impact, Chinatown, Benning Park, and Navyyard. It's in addition to the US Street Corridor zone announced yesterday.
