[00:00:06]An Indian tourist has alleged that he was met with racist treatment after what he described as a small confusion over a bill.

The traveler called Sumo says he was asked about his nationality and the situation escalated after he said he was from India. Sumo who shared a clip of the incident on Instagram claims the woman began hurling abuse making generalized remarks.

[00:00:39]To resolve the matter, he said he called the Thailand tourist police who arrived and handled the situation. Well, in his clip the traveler revealed he hails from Kashmir and that he had faced racist behavior elsewhere. He also urged people to call out racism wherever they witness it expressing shock at experiencing such alleged treatment during his trip. Well, similar incidents have been reported in the past. Notably, in January this year a group of Indian tourists had alleged racial discrimination at a popular floating beach club in Thailand's Phuket claiming they were denied entry despite holding confirmed reservations.

The other members of the group were reportedly also denied entry under unusual pretext. Well, the beach club reportedly issued an apology after the matter became known. Well, such episodes continue to spark a broader conversation online about racism, stereotypes, and how tourists from different countries are perceived.
