Virtue and Vice in the Christian Life

[00:00:00]Virtues and vices are habits, meaning they are practices that you do over and over again or or don't do over and over again until they become part of your character, right? So, you think of the most patient person you know, you don't think of a person who is like remarkably patient one time, you think of somebody who patience characterizes how they move through the world, right? It describes their way of reacting to situations from big to little that are difficult. They are a patient person. It's part of their character. So, that's virtues and vices.

[00:00:31]Virtues are the the habits that move us toward the love of God, towards being more like Jesus in how we interact with our own hearts, our neighbor, our enemies. And vices are the habits that impede us in that calling of love towards God, our neighbors, ourselves, our enemies. And so, they are part of a piece together. They do have their own wholeness because they can't work against each other.
