2x2 LS Tutorial: Part 1 - Introduction + All 54 LS1 Algorithms

[00:00:02]Hello and welcome to my LS tutorial. LS is a method on 2x two where you will solve three pieces out of the four in a layer, sometimes referred to as a V, and then solve the rest of the cube with one algorithm. These algorithms are often recognized by ignoring the yellow piece and recognizing it as a CLL or TCL. For example, these two cases look the same when ignoring the yellow piece. I would suggest not learning LS until you've completed all of EG, LG, and TLLL as lots of ALS in LS where you use cancellations into other algorithms. So, it's important that you learn those first. I'm also not going to go in depth on how to predict AUF for every single case as some people have different preferences for AUF and should be able to figure out how to predict it on their own. All of these algorithms can be found in the best 2x2 AL sheet which I'll link in the description along with a trainer that you can use to practice the ALS.

[00:00:56]All right, we're on to the actual ALS now. So, this is the first case. It just looks like a solved top layer other than this yellow piece. And it's not a great case. So, how I'm going to solve it starting like this. F2 R2 U prime RP prime F R prime F2 R U prime R prime Now this case just looks like a Y perm here and it's a very easy AL. I'm going to put the corner here and just do three sledgehammers and that's it. These next two cases both look like a Jerm and have this bar. And so how we differentiate between them is I like to have this piece in a specific position like the back and then we have this bar on the front. But for this case, when the yellow piece is here, the bar is on the right. So for this case, it's quite a nice alg. We're going to start with R U prime. And then just an anti-nick class.

[00:01:50]So sledge R U R prime and then U R prime. Now this case is simply the inverse of the last one. And we're going to start with the corner here this time and then do R U prime and then a regular N class. So R U prime RP prime hedge and then U R prime. So, similar to the last two, these cases both look like JPEMs, but this time with no bars. So, here I like to see this opposite bar of pieces on the front. And for this case, the opposite bar of pieces are on the right.

[00:02:22]So, this is a very easy AL. We're just going to put the corner here and do R2 U R2 U prime R2. And this one is also very easy. We're just going to do it from this side. So, it's R2 U prime R2 U R2.

[00:02:39]So for the soon cases, we can very easily just look at these three stickers. So here, this is the same as a pure soon. Now for this case, we're going to rotate over here, put the corner here, and do an RP prime, U2, R, and U prime, and regrip here to insert with F R2 FP prime. So this next case is the same as a diagon. And for this case, we're just going to put the corner here, do an R U RP prime to set up a TCL, then U2 and hedge R prime. So this case looks the same as this soon CLL. And again, we're going to do an insert to TCL. So we put the corner here, do an R U prime, RP prime, and then cancel into a double sledgehammer. So this case looks the same as a N class. And what we're going to do for this case is put the corner here, do a hedge, U prime, and then hedge. So very easy. So this case looks the same as this soon CLL. And this is the inverse of the last case. So we're going to put the corner here and do a hedge U and then another [snorts] hedge.

[00:03:38]So this case looks the same as this soon CLL. And this one's another pretty nice owl. We're going to put the corner here and do a hedge. And then we're going to do R U R prime. U2 solve the corner with RU R prime.

[00:03:52]So the anti-oon cases are also very easy to recognize using these three stickers as it just looks like a regular anti-oon. So if this case, this is pure anti-oon. We're going to do the alcram here similar to pure soon. And we're going to start with an f r2 fprime and then insert the corner in the back with rprime U2. So this case looks the same as a diag anti-oon. And we're going to start by doing an R U prime R prime and then canceling into a sledge and then inserting the corner with U2 R U prime R prime. So this case looks the same as this CLL. And for this one, it's very nice alg. We're just going to do an R U prime R prime into this TCL and then U2 R U prime R prime cancel into a sledge.

[00:04:34]So this case looks the same as an anti- necklace. And we're going to solve it with very easy. Put the corner here. Do a sledge U and another sledge. So here, this case looks the same as this anti-une CLL. And the inverse of the last case, we're going to put here, do a sledge, urime, and then another sledge.

[00:04:54]So this is the last anti-sune case. It looks like this CLL. And this is a very nice two gen, which is going to start with two sexy moves and then solve the last corner. R U2 upright.

[00:05:05]So these are the UA cases. These can be recognized just like a UCL. It is a little weird, but if you need to, you can imagine this piece in going into this slot and then use it to recognize it. So, as you can see, this piece would be here. And this is what the CLL would look like. So, for this case, what we're going to do is a long sledge start. So, R2, Fprime, and then just solve the layer with R U prime, R prime, U R prime. So, this case looks the same as pure U case. And this is a pretty nice owl. Going to put the corner here and then do a sledge and then R U prime RP prime U2 R U prime R prime. So this case looks the same as this UL. And it's a very easy alg. We're just going to put the corner here and do an R U prime RP prime and then two inverse sexies. And that's it. So this case looks like this. UL. And it's a bit of a weird AL. So what we're going to do is we're going to do FP prime R2 FP prime and then R2 F R2. So this case looks the same as this UL. And it's another slightly weird AL. So we're going to start here with an F2. And then here we have this LS3 which probably haven't leared yet, but it's pretty easy. We're just going to do RP prime U RP prime FP prime R2. So this is the last UA case. It looks the same as this CLL. And it's another kind of weird alg.

[00:06:34]We're going to put the corner here and do FP prime R U2 RP prime F to solve this corner. And then just solve the last one with U2 and R prime F R.

[00:06:46]So these are the UB cases. It's very similar to the last set, but instead this corner goes into here instead of here. So we're also just recognizing as a UCL. You can see it looks the same as this case. And what we're going to do is the inverse of the first UA case. So we're going to put the corner here and do R U prime R. And we have U R prime and then like a long hedge. So F R prime FP prime R2. Now this case looks the same as this pure UL. And it's pretty nice al. We're just going to do R U prime R prime and then U prime R U R prime and then a sledge. So this case looks the same as this UCL and it's a very nice easy one. I'm going to do it from here. Insert this corner with R prime FR and then two lefty inverse sexies. This is the next case. It looks same as this UL. And we're going to do the AL from here. And it's a bit of a weird one, but F R U prime R prime then F2 R U R. So this is the next case. It looks like this. UL and it's not a great one. We're going to start over here with a long sledge. So R2 FRP prime and then we finish with U R U2 R prime U2 R prime. This is the next case. It looks like this. UL. And this one's a nice two gen one. So we're going to put the corner here and do R U prime. And then it's actually a soon and then ending with an R2.

[00:08:18]So I'll show you one more time. So, it's R U prime R U R prime U R U2 R2.

[00:08:28]Now, we're on to the LA cases. So, these ones look like an LCL. You can just look at these three stickers. So, this one, it's a bit of a weird AL, but it's pretty nice. We're going to start here with R2, FP prime, R U prime, and R, U, R2, F2. So this case looks the same as this hedge inverse sexy CLL and it's a very nice ALG. We're just going to do sexy here into this TCL which is just hedge and then RU R prime. So this is the next case. This looks like this CLL and it's another pretty nice one. Going to put the corner here and do R U prime R prime then U2 and solve this with R U2 R prime and then a sledge. So this case looks the same as this pure LL. And again it's a very easy one. We're just going to put the corner here. Do R U prime RP prime sledge and then R U prime R prime. This is the next case which looks like this. LCL. And unfortunately, this case isn't great. It's from here.

[00:09:29]You do R2 FP prime R U prime F U RP prime F. So, this is the last LA case.

[00:09:37]It looks like this CLL. And unfortunately, it's not the best AL, but still all right. So, we're going to do an R prime FP prime R then U2 FP prime R U2 RP prime F.

[00:09:51]So, now we're on to the LB cases, which are a little weird because while they still do look like an LCL, as you can see, most people don't know how to recognize it from this angle. So, I'm going to explain it using these three stickers to recognize. So, for this case, these two are the same and this one is opposite. And what we're going to do is come over here and do an RP prime UR into this TCLL. We do U prime RP prime Hedge U2R.

[00:10:19]For this case, the two top stickers are opposite and the one on the front is adjacent to both of them. So what we're going to do is set up to another LS with R U RP prime. And this is just a six m goes F R Fprime R U R2. Now for this case, these two on top are adjacent. And the one on the front here is opposite to this one. So this is very simple. It's just a five mover. Going to put the corner here and do FP prime RP prime F2R F. For this case, you can see that these two stickers are the same and this one is adjacent to the other two. Or you can kind of just see that it's purely twisted. Either works. But uh this case very easy. We're just going to insert into a TCL with RU R prime. And then we have hedge ru prime. Now for this case, the two on top are the same and the one here is adjacent to the two on top. So what we're going to do is just an r urime r prime which sets up this anti-soon ls. So this one is just a sledge u sledge. And for this last case, the two on top are the same. And the one on the front is opposite to both of them. So we're going to put the corner here. do R U RP prime FP prime and then R U prime R prime F2.

[00:11:36]So these are the TA cases and we're just going to recognize them as a TL. So here we have just sexy sledge and for this case what we're going to do is from here we're going to do R U prime R prime into this TLLL then sledge and then invest sexy. So for this case, it looks like a lefty sexy sledge, which some people might only know the recognition from this side where these two stickers match. But on this side, it's basically the same thing, but these two are opposite, which you kind of need to know. But anyway, the AL for this case, we're going to start from here and do R prime U2. And then it's just an anti-nick class. So sledge sexy and then R. So this case looks same as Diag T.

[00:12:16]And this is a pretty nice case. We're going to do it from here and do an RP prime FR into this TCL which is just RP prime FR and then canceling into a lefty sledge. So this case looks the same as pure T. And we're going to do it from this angle here. It's a bit of a weird AL but it's pretty nice. So we start with a long sledge and then we just solve this corner with R U prime RP prime U prime R. So this case looks the same as this T CL and it's a pretty weird but cool AL. So we're going to do it from here. Start with an R U prime RP prime then F2 R U RP prime FP prime. So this is the last TA case. It looks like this CLL. And it's a very nice and easy one. We're just going to put this corner here and do R U2 RP prime U2 R U2 R prime.

[00:13:09]So now we're on to the TB cases. Again, we're just going to recognize them as a TL. And for this case, just like the one TA case, you need to know that these two stickers are opposite when you have this CLL, as most people would just recognize it based off these two being the same.

[00:13:24]But anyway, the AL for this case starts from here. You're going to do R2 U prime RP prime hedge and then UR R prime. Now, this case just looks like a lefty sexy sledge. And for the LS, what we're going to do is you two insert the corn with a sexy and then do two hedges. So this is the next case. It looks like this T case and it's another very nice AL. I'm going to insert to TCL from here with R U prime R prime and then do U R U prime R prime cancel into a sledge. So this case looks like the pure TL. It's another pretty nice al. We're going to put the corner here and do a hedge and then R U prime RP prime U and so with R U R prime. So this next case looks like this TL. It's a bit of a weird owl. What we're going to do is from here R2 FP prime R2F R2F.

[00:14:20]Now this is the last TB case and it's the mirror of the last TA case. So very easy. From here, we're just going to do R prime F2R U2 RPM F2R.
