[00:00:10]So, I'm out on a little birthday trip with the Mrs. She's going to be behind the camera for most of this. And we are currently in northeast Iowa in what is known as the Drifless region. Uh, I'll probably have to look it up cuz I'm not going to be able to tell you, but it's like I think the gist of it is this is an area. Damn, look at that. like cave under there.

[00:00:31]>> This is an area that uh you might be able to see out the windows that during like the last ice age, it missed this area. So the the uh glaciers or like during during the ice age, the glaciers missed this area. So it didn't like just rip all the rock off and flatten all the land out like it did to a lot of the United States. So it's this is gorgeous country. I love it up here.

[00:00:56]Uh, but anyways, we will be here for like what, four nights and we've got an Airbnb that the wife picked out. It looks like an old barn or something. So, we're only about 20 minutes away from there. We've been on the road for about 7 hours today. Uh, but yeah, I'm excited for this weekend. We're just going to wander around and enjoy the sights and enjoy the Airbnb. So, stay tuned.

Uh, if you look at this, and I I'll see if I can toss it into the video maybe, but if you look at this place, like on Google Maps from 2012, it is literally the old barn sitting here. So, they put new siding and whatever on there and uh cleaned it up. Like, that's the original base.

[00:03:25]Super nice. At least it looks super nice from the outside. And then you're in this valley here. And that's all like that goes way up. There's big rocks and whatnot. We might have to wander in there and not get eaten by a grizzly bear because we're probably in bear countryish, I would assume.

[00:06:21]Yeah. The the basement level is like a completely separate space. It's not accessible from the inside up there, which is kind of cool. If you were going to come here with a few different people, you could actually basically have two separate apartment kind of things.

[00:06:50]And then yeah, like the the original brick walls that I'm sure this was all coried locally here. There might be a book up something or something upstairs that says it. But then you got two looks like maybe a full and a queen. They might both be queens down here. Washer dryer, which is nice. And another bathroom, which that's kind of actually, you know, very rustic, but very neat. It fits right in. kind of think they could have maybe found some some of those rocks.

[00:10:50]>> But, uh, we're going to go check that out and see what it's all about and check out some river views. So, and see what the driftless area is since I don't know exactly what it is, but I think it's got something to do with the ice age and glaciers and whatnot, but we'll see.

[00:11:14]>> This would be a really fun area on motorcycles if you're into that stuff.

[00:38:07]We just went through Prairie Duchen on the other side and that's where we crossed at. The Blue Brick Inn is for sale.

[00:38:28]>> Yeah. Yeah. Now we're just on the other side of the river. It's gorgeous. Like I have to come back here with my motorcycle and spend a couple of days spend a couple days riding around. Um yeah, it'd be be nice to wait till that bridge is open, but it's also would be cool to take my motorcycle across the river on a ferry. Oh, this is a neat area, guys. Don't uh don't just sleep on it cuz you think Iowa is a flyover state or Wisconsin or Minnesota. It's all in the same area. You know, the driftless and then you got sweet cars, cutless motorcycle. I ain't want people out cruising. Tell you what.

[00:39:32]Uh so, we picked these up because it says they're fire starters made with pride by adults with autism. And these were made by Daniel, an adult with autism. So, I started the grill and then I came in here and I started looking around because I was like, they got to have hot dog pokers and sitting right here on the steps, we've got some extendable pokers. It's nice that they have this fire pit here. They have, like I said, a big grill and uh like a Blackstone griddle, but I'm going to cook over the fire while I can.

[00:56:00]We were talking about how one of the best parts of this place, I mean, the inside is great, but there's just a lot of nice space outside to enjoy. The fire pit's awesome.

[00:56:14]That area, those chairs are super comfortable. They're little rockers, aderondac rockers.

[00:56:21]And yesterday morning, because it was sunny and warm, we brought the chairs that are with the table over there over here on the other side of the deck where it's a little more shaded.

[00:56:36]So, that's nice, too, that they've got some area you can enjoy when the sun's beating down in the later morning, early afternoon hours.

Uh we've done a couple of different trips up here. I've been up here with Travis and some spots like that. So, it's a gorgeous area.
