Reform UK, led by Nigel Farage, has rapidly gained political influence by winning seats in both traditional Conservative heartlands and Labour-held areas, securing over 4 million votes and prompting senior Conservative MPs to defect; this surge threatens the over 100-year dominance of Labour and Conservative parties, potentially leading to political instability if Farage becomes Prime Minister and struggles to deliver on his promises.

Calls for Starmer to quit grow as Reform UK makes massive gainsAdded:
INDEPENDENCE DAY.
>> He was the mastermind of Brexit but often dismissed. But there's no casting aside Nigel Farage now, who is on a fast track towards becoming Britain's Prime Minister. For more than a century, Britain has flip-flopped between Labor and the Conservatives. But in 2029, he could become the first non-Labor or Tory PM since David Lloyd George's fall from power in 1922.
We've been so used to thinking about politics in terms of left and right. And yet what what reform are able to do is to win in areas that have always been conservative. But equally, we're proving in a big way we can win in areas that Labor have dominated.
>> But what is behind the sudden rise in his party, Reform UK? Their message is simple. Britain's broken due to weak leadership and will fix it. It's also pledged to stop small boat crossings from the English Channel, deport illegal migrants, and secure Britain's borders.
All of this is striking accord with voters.
>> You listen to them all, they all give you a pack of lies. But reform seems to be saying more what I'd like to see happen than the others.
>> As long as Labor and Conservatives are not in power, I don't I don't mind.
Farage and reform's rise has slowly been brewing since 2024 despite only winning five seats in parliament. It secured more than 4 million votes making it the third most popular party in the UK. And since then senior Tories have defected to the party. Robert Genrich, Danny Krueger, and Andrew Rosendal are some of the front bench MPs to quit the Tories for reform. And one of the most high-profile MPs was former Home Secretary Sella Braverman. Reform's success in last week's local elections saw them win councils and seats in what are traditionally known as Conservative Heartlands. They also won in Labour held areas as well. And based on those results, Britain Sky News has predicted 2029's general election would see reform becoming the largest party in parliament.
>> If it is a reform UK majority, I think we are going to see a great deal of instability. And the reason for that is that Nigel Farage will have Kart Blanch to go radical, as radical as he likes, rip up the rule book in terms of public spending, rip up the rule book in terms of international law to deliver on the things that he's promised the electorate. There is also a very real prospect that Nigel Farage will become prime minister, won't be able to deliver everything he's promised to the UK public. And then where does the UK voting public turn to? uh you know this is their final roll of the dice in many respects.
>> There's still three years until Britain will head to the polls again to vote in a new prime minister. But there's no doubt that if Labour or the Conservatives want to hold on to their more than 100 years of power in the UK, they'll have to step up their game to stem the wave of Nigel Faraj's popularity.
