[00:01:28]Uh we'll just kind of kind of shoot the breeze a little bit here while we let a little bit more, you know, people know that we are live. This was a surprise kind of a thing. Wasn't sure if I was even going to be able to do it. Got a lot of stuff going on today.

[00:01:42]um was planning to be at the park today, but after everything that happened with a surprise Star Wars night, I was like, it's been a heck of a week and uh figured, you know what? Let me just take the day off. Let me get some stuff done around the house. I know Mrs. Casual would appreciate that kind of stuff. I'm going to do some yard work in the backyard and get that taken care of so that tomorrow for Mother's Day, Mrs. Casual could go sit in the backyard and enjoy a nice, beautiful view without overgrown grass and stuff.

And then I tried maybe the classic castle illustration. I was like that's not doing it either. So, uh, but you know, like I said, I'm I'm I'm working on it. It may it may end up becoming something really really cool.

[00:06:06]Um, and I may I may if I if I'm able to get the shape, I may do an actual shadow box and have it printed mounted on on like a a plate of some sort and have it standing off and put it in a in a shadow box so you actually get the real dimension on it. [00:08:05]I've got everything. And I I I apologize everybody that you guys have been waiting for your March Madness prizes and things like that. Um I'm I'm working on it. It's just work uh went kind of crazy. And I if you want to know what I think, this is going to sound silly, but here here's here's the deal. Um uh I ran out of uh deodorant and so I had to use a different deodorant and it's an unscented and I told Mrs. casual. I was like, "Can you put some, you know, essential oils in there and kind of infuse it with something so that I get some sort of a scent. I don't like doing the unscented thing even though, you know, it may keep me dry or whatever."

[00:08:41]And so she put an oil in there and it so it just kind of sits and it, you know, the the deodorant absorbs it. Well, she put an oil called abundance.

[00:08:51]And what abundance is is supposed to kind of give you a mindset of being able to uh flourish and and things, you know, you're you're able to watch things happen and your your your mind is open to things happening like that and you know, so it kind of puts you in that mindset and my personal business, you know, so I had my day job and then I had my personal business and it just took off. There was like suddenly clients calling out of nowhere that hadn't called me in a while. there were clients sending me more projects and so it it just got really busy. So, and uh aromatherapy lesson. You never know what you're going to get when you're on theme park casual. I I I it's not only theme parks around here, but uh so yeah, it's been like crazy busy with work and you know, I'm I'm lucky that I've been able to, you know, still steal away on Wednesdays early out of my day job because it's busy over there, too, to be able to get to the parks. So, uh, Rogue Attraction, welcome in. Another content creator. Uh, we need to try to set up a day when we could do our Simo cast again. Uh, where he is on in in the Florida parks and I'm at Disneyland and we are comparing similar rides. We're hoping to do test track and Radiator Springs Racers soon.

[00:10:16]Again, it's just it's so busy. I need to try to, you know, and I don't want to just, you know, off the hand off off the cuff reply to you guys and, you know, say something then I can't, you know, can't make good on that. I'm already I'm already behind on so many other things.

[00:10:35]All right. So, uh, yeah, cool. Thanks. Thanks, Rogue. Um, yeah, I really have fun with those. I I love seeing the sidebyside stuff. It was really fun that we were on pirates at the exact same time. We were both riding pirates and you can see them side by side as as we were going through.

[00:10:51]Stuff's kind of fun. I think one that we we we want to we want to try is Haunted Mansion because there's always the debate. You know, some people say that the Disney World one is better because there's more ride. You know, they take the hallway and they put it on the attraction and ours as you walk through.

[00:11:08]I don't know. But we'll see. That that'd be a fun one to debate.

[00:11:12]All right. So, we all know that uh Roger Rabbit went down for refurbishment and when it came back the uh guest controlled spinning um has been removed. So, the whole premise of the attraction when it debuted was the Imagineers thought, what would it be like if we take a teacup and put it on a dark ride? And so, they they literally did that. They they contra figured out a contraption that would be able to go along the track and they tried it on a couple of the dark rides in Fantasy Land. I think they tried Pinocchio because I remember them them saying that it was really cool because there were times where if you hit it just right, Monstro, you know, kind of came up out of nowhere it seemed. So that was the whole premise that you were on a teacup going through a dark ride and you can spin and spin and so you would be able to watch, you know, see things in 360 degrees. So it it would kind of flesh out a the dark rides more like the Pirates of the Caribbean Haunted Mansion style dark rides. So it would be on that level. And the whole idea was fantastic.

[00:12:17]It was with Roger Rabbit, you know. So the whole I you know that that was one of the hot properties at the time. It had come out I think just a few years before um like maybe five or six years before this this attraction uh debuted. Good morning EXP.

[00:12:35]Um, so, so that was a big thing and it and it was a fantastic concept. It was executed well and people loved it. It was a great attraction. I I I think it's among the the better of the dark rides.

[00:12:51]It may not have, you know, quite the classic feel as something like Peter Pan or Alice in Wonderland, but in its own right, it is a fantastic dark ride.

[00:13:00]So, it went down for refurbishment, came back, and they took that out. They took that aspect of it out. And honestly, when I heard about that, I was like, what are they doing? This is just another horrible operationsbased spreadsheet decision to say, you know what? If we get rid of this, we can save money on maintenance, on parts, and, you know, even even possibly safety. I don't know. So it was it was met with uh some some a little bit of fervor with in the fan community. Those of us that you know watch the parks closely and you know we feel like we understand you know the intent behind some of these attractions and some of the uh features on them.

[00:13:45]So, the first chance I got to get back to the park when since it opened was Wednesday. And that's that was the first thing I wanted to do. I was like, I'm starting over at Roger Rabbit. I got to find out if this is, you know, the kind of thing where, you know, is this another typical modern-day Disney of destroying and removing things, you know, for efficiency and not thinking about the show and the guest experience first. So, uh, IGN, welcome in.

[00:14:17]So, there there there it was. I'm there at Disneyland and ready to go on it. And well, let's let me let me go ahead and pull it up. I'll I'll I'll let you see um my my ride on Roger Rabbit real quick here. So, give me one quick second. See if I can make it a little bit bigger for you guys.

[00:14:39]There we go.

[00:14:41]All right. So, this is the very beginning of the ride, and I'm going to just let it play. We'll kind of talk over it as as we go, and I'll let you know what what I was thinking, you know, while while it was happening.

[00:14:57]>> Normally, right here, right there, is where you can start spinning >> and you're not able to do anything. the wheel is just, you know, you can spin it, but it doesn't doesn't affect anything. And so, here we are. And you can see my car is slightly spinning a little bit here and there. We're kind of pointing in different directions. Um, but from what I could tell, it's a free spin.

[00:15:25]So, it's not going to be the same the next time I go on it.

[00:15:31]And I think right there was one part where you feel the spin. If I remember correctly, there were a couple of places where you can feel that the car starts to spin on its own. You know, it's it's more than just the free spinning. It's like you feel a mechanism turning the car. Pass son, welcome in Carol G and the corn dogs. Good to see you.

[00:15:53]>> And so you can see that sometimes you're not looking where you would necessarily want to because of the free spin.

[00:16:04]And so this was the part that I was really curious about because this was the part that was going to disappoint me. And I'll tell you, I'll explain why it actually didn't. But normally right here, I love to spin spin spin spin as you're falling through all the the cityscape.

[00:16:20]Well, obviously the Imagineers knew that that is one of the funnest parts is spinning through that. And so they sent the car to spin. It's it's forcing you to spin like that now. But here's the deal. Right. When I got to that part, I was like, "Wow, that was kind of a lot of spinning." Even though we only went around a couple of times. I was actually feeling a little bit dizzy from that.

[00:16:43]And so again, here we are. We're just It's free free flowing spin. You don't know where you're going to be pointing.

[00:16:49]Again, this was, you know, one of those times where it's like I'd kind of be able to like to aim my view a little bit. And like right here, I I think it was dark ride art.

[00:16:58]She goes, "Oh, you were pointed at the wall for for a length of time." And I'm like, "Yeah, that's that's part of the free spin."

[00:17:09]And so you're going, you're going and and then right around here is where it normally would kind of retake control and you can no longer spin and direct you. You can see it's walking whip right around right there and whip around and you are now locked in and you cannot spin anymore even before.

[00:17:28]hole.

[00:17:31]>> One of my favorite little effects there is when he puts the hole against the wall and you go through it. So good.

[00:17:42]So that is Roger Rabbit.

[00:17:47]And when we got off the ride, everybody, so what was it like? What was it like?

[00:17:52]And uh it was basically the same ride, guys.

[00:17:58]The only difference was I didn't have to fight the wheel the whole time. Cuz that was actually one of the things is on Roger Rabbit, the wheel, yeah, you would spin, but because of all the different changes in direction, the momentum would take you in different ways. And then when you're trying to spin, you're fighting, you know, your momentum going in different directions. And it was a pain. It was actually difficult at times. sometimes actually very painful if you caught it drift wrong and the wheel spun and put your elbow into your side or something like that. I've had that happen.

[00:18:28]So, I'm sadly of the mindset that they possibly made a just fine decision because it doesn't feel any different when you're on the ride. Sanchez, welcome in. GV, good to see you.

[00:18:43]Uh, this was one of the least laggy ride thoughts we have had, too. So, it was nice to see a lot of the elements. Oh, okay. Oh, ride through. Okay. Yeah, ride throughs. Yeah, it was kind of kind of interesting. I I just saw that that Yeah, it didn't seem to lag at all. So, um but yeah, it's it's kind of kind of weird because like I I was I was set to just kind of rail on them. I was I was all ready with my, you know, the the intent behind the ride. the, you know, classic Imagineering is getting, you know, stripped away from these parks and blah blah blah. Weird old man, welcome in.

[00:19:21]And nope, I was like, it didn't it didn't change the ride basically at all for me.

[00:19:27]It actually kind of improved it simply because I didn't have to fight the wheel. Yeah, there were times where, you know, if I wanted to see something, I kind of had to turn around and look, you know, different directions, but that could happen even when you're spinning if you don't know what you're doing. and you know you're not sure or the wheel like I said it would fight you at times and you wouldn't be able to point where you wanted to anyways. Uh Rogra said, "I think people feel burned so much uh lately and in a way and in a way overly sensitive o over everything Disney does now." Yeah, that's that's kind of part of what it is. It's like I said, I was ready to to to just go in on them and and tear tear them apart and, you know, complain as much as I could, but I was like, I don't think there's really much to complain about, guys, other than, you know, it's an interactive element that's gone, but it's it wasn't like the kind of thing that it makes or breaks the ride at all.

[00:20:24]Uh, I think we were all at least a little disappointed that you weren't disappointed. missed out on a theme park cranky on that one. Yeah, I know. I kind of was like I was like I got off the ride and I was like um sorry guys. I think this is okay. No big deal.

[00:20:40]And the Dutch Disney lover welcome in.

[00:20:43]Uh I don't know how to pronounce but ex is it sav Jav Ortiz? I'll bet that's how it's pronounced. Okay. had to kind of break up where the letters and words might be, but I believe that would be Jav Ortiz, welcome in.

[00:21:02]Uh, so yeah, it it's it's just one of those situations where, you know, the fans, you know, we we looked at it on the surface. It looked like, oh my god, what did they do to this ride? And yes, another thing. Uh, but no, this this one was, like I said, it's possibly a good call. Um, the free spin, I think Spaceship Beard mentioned it, that it could end up getting people more nauseous. Um, and yeah, it's it's one of those crazy things that, you know, that like the spin at the at the cityscape that actually got me a little bit dizzy.

[00:21:36]I noticed that. I was like, whoa, I'm I'm I think that was a little bit too much spinning.

[00:21:42]Remember when you had to do the blasters ride and spin the whole time? That better not change. Yeah, I I would think no because that one you're in a 360 degree environment with the guns, you know, and so it's a shooter and so they would want you to do, you know, be able to do that. Uh Carol G, I heard the Autotopia cars are going to be switched out to EV, which means no more motor sounds. I might as well replace the ride entirely as they're going forward with if they're going forward with that decision. Uh Carol G. Yeah. Um I'll touch on that a little bit. Um because yeah, that's that's another one that is one of those changes where I think people have a very similar mindset to you that it's like if you're not going to have the fun little, you know, motors, just get rid of it and put something else there. The problem with that entire area and which is why we won't see areas like that and rides and things intertwining the way the people mover Autotopia submarines Montreal um to an extent the Skyway used to the motorboat cruise is because now if they want to put something in Autotopia's place it would mean shutting down and possibly rerouting all of the Montreal track eliminating a bunch of the people mover track or and potentially affecting the submarines.

[00:23:02]So all of those things layered on top of each other. Fantastic, beautiful, amazing when it was all going. Now that we want to change things because people mover isn't working, submarines are kind of some people feel Autotopia people are thinking, you know what, it I think it's past its prime. It's time to do something new.

[00:23:24]It would be basically they would have to tear out Subs, Montreal, People Mover track, and Autotopia all at the same time, possibly part of the motorboat cruise area again in order to build something there. So, you're you're looking at, you know, four attractions eliminated instantly while they build.

[00:23:46]That would be a tremendous tax at times.

[00:23:51]um you'd be losing your Montreal which is a selling point for the Disney hotels and you're looking at what five years possibly more if they have to redo that entire area. I mean the demolition alone and prepping would probably be you know double what it normally is because of how much you know infrastructure is in there and you know the submarine lagoon all of that kind of stuff. So, but that's that's just the reality of it. Um, I think the electric vehicles could be fun. I don't know what they can do, you know, for onboard, you know, um, entertainment, if you will. So, there could be stuff that changes with that, but we shall we shall see what they end up doing. But, yeah, it looks like they are going to be uh, switching out the gas powered with um, electric vehicles.

[00:24:48]So, uh, yeah, carrot doesn't even stop at any hotels like it used to. Yeah, it is. Uh, it it is kind of weird.

[00:25:02]Tony, no. Troy. Troy. Sorry. Troy says, "Add the spinning to Autotopia and just call it drifting." You never know. They could. We we have no idea what these vehicles we don't know if they're going to be actually, you know, if it's just going to be driving or if they're going to be, you know, if they say, you know what, we could kind of create a mini Indiana Jones style vehicle where we can give you some, you know, motion that's not necessarily in the track.

[00:25:26]Would I trade that area for Tron light cycle run? Honestly, no.

[00:25:31]Um, I'm tired of these big boxes just sitting out there, you know, the way they do in Disney World. And I I' I'd much rather they figure out a thing something for the people mover track and give us that back and create a kinetic Tomorrowland again. I would I would let if it was if I was in charge, I would be saying we're going with a mid-century modern retrofitted uh Tomorrowland that at night uh changes over to Tron the Grid and um will give, you know, smaller smaller attractions um to kind of fit the theme. But yeah, I would do mid-century modern styling to Tomorrowland. Retrofit some of the areas, get us something on the people mover tracks.

[00:26:15]um do something better with launch bay.

[00:26:17]Um that one I would see, you know, as let's tear that down or rebuild it into something else. I would do that. Um but yeah, for me it's I I would have nighttime uh Tomorrowland would become the grid from uh from Tron and you'd have, you know, basically electronica every night. So you'd have your your your bumping daft punk happening. You know, you might have a place, you know, you got the stage, you could have, you know, bands playing and and do that. Um, you've got the end of line club since they're, you know, the the alcohol at Disneyland cat is out of the bag. End of line club with specialty drinks and things like that. And you've got something that's going to start bringing in revenue, bring pulling people to Tomorrowland.

[00:27:04]Yeah, the people mover is kind of a no-brainer. Figure out a way to do that, Disney. you you would you would have tons of us just, you know, losing our minds if you if you were able to do that for us. Magical DNA, welcome in, Christina H. Good morning.

[00:27:21]The Tron ride looks cool, but if they're going to do a uh a cycle style seating, I would rather they do that in Galaxy's Edge and give us a speeder bike ride.

[00:27:32]That's always been my thing. It's like don't don't clone the Tron thing in Disneyland. Give us a speeder bike in Galaxy's Edge. That would be the way I would do it.

[00:27:49]Uh, Zippitydog says, "I hope they have the engine noise." Yeah, it's it's curious to see what they're going to do with that because it's going to be I mean, obviously, electric cars are very quiet unless they put a sound on them.

[00:28:02]So, not sure where we're going to go with that.

[00:28:11]Uh, if they did the full Tron ride, not an abbreviated one, would be nice. Well, I don't know how much more abbreviated you can get for Tron. That one is what, a total of from launch to ending. It's what, 52 seconds, which I guess for a coaster it's not necessarily bad, but it it's it's the fact that the indoor portion feels a little short.

[00:28:37]Uh, speeder bike is a great idea. I know.

[00:28:41]Uh, add the Disney lover in Eftling. We have a steam train converted to an electric train. Interesting. How did that go over? Did Did everybody everybody get angry with that ad?

[00:28:53]because it seems like that's one of those ones where it's like, "Oh, no. We want some of the nostalgia of the bygone days."

[00:29:03]Uh, Daisy Du trying about 52. Yeah, that's that's about where it clocks in at 52 seconds. I mean the the experience feels longer but launch to ending you know where you're coming back into the station you know so it doesn't count the you know prep and like you know slight little bit of you know time getting into the launch section and it doesn't count the you know once you stop the thrill portion and kind of ride back into the the unload station. So it doesn't count those two sections. So there's a little bit more to the experience, but launch to, you know, all right, coaster portion is over is about 52 seconds. I think the entire ride is like 130 seconds, something like that. Or like like a minute and a half, not 130 seconds.

[00:29:51]Or maybe that is 130 seconds. No, 90 seconds is about a minute and a half.

[00:29:55]Anyways, but yeah, don't ignore my karaoke comment. What karaoke comment? I didn't see any karaoke comment.

[00:30:08]I didn't Where's the karaoke?

[00:30:11]Oh, there it is. If they switch to EV, then the muffling motor sounds won't drown out your singing. Uh, yep. And if you listen, you only have yourself to blame.

[00:30:22]But that's that's actually going to be one of those things where it's like I even though I don't think it drowns out the singing much because the the mic.

[00:30:31]But um yeah, it's going to be interesting how Autotopia Karaoke goes with that.

[00:30:42]Uh chat moves really quick. Uh, I like the idea. Speeder bikes are really live where you sit on the back versus light cycle. So, they would need a good redesign of the ride vehicles. Um, yeah.

[00:30:55]I mean, I I I think it's it's just a matter of, you know, hey, just put it on the front one and, you know, you're going to you're going to have to just deal with it. But I think if they did it well, it could be fun.

[00:31:07]The other drivers will hear this hear the singing better. Yeah.

[00:31:14]I have no idea what they're going to do.

[00:31:16]I I like I said with with an electric vehicle. Um there's the potential that they may try to do some onboard um screens and entertainment with that to give some sort of, you know, additional fun aspect to it. We shall see. Perhaps they'll let you choose a song that you can pick and we'll do karaoke based off of the songs they give us.

[00:31:43]May maybe maybe everybody will be doing Autotopia karaoke at that point.

[00:31:57]Uh, do you anticipate any major changes to Pirates? Um, I don't think so.

[00:32:03]As far as I I've heard, this is just a a regular reverb. I think they might be trying to figure out a way to to do something with the queue because on the busier days the queue becomes a real issue in New Orleans Square. If if you've ever seen it, there's the planters that kind of intersect the walkway and kind of break things up for fantasmic viewing. Well, those they fill in. They go from the bridge to the first planner and then fill in after the second planner and then also have a switch back after that.

[00:32:38]And so you're you're looking at this weird bottle, you know, of a stretch of this queue that really creates a a problem for people wanting to cross from like coming out of New Orleans Square and wanting to go back into Frontier Land without having to go across the bridge. That becomes the only way around. So you have to go up over the bridge and then backtrack a little bit at Riverbell. So So that's that's the the weird thing with that. And I don't know what they can do because the pirate in order for them to utilize some of the buildings that are attached to pirates right next to the queue, they would be eliminating uh the Royal Street Ver, which is a quick service spot, food spot. And then there's the section right next to that that has been a store and then it was seating area and then it went back to a store and now it's back to seating area.

[00:33:33]Have the queue go through the old Disney gallery. That I I could see that being an option, but I don't know if they would want guests up there. I think they'd like to utilize that space for the VIPs and keep that, you know, away from the guests right now. Plus, I believe that's uh the entrance to uh 21 Royal.

[00:33:53]So, um can't have can't have people spending $15,000 for a dinner and, you know, having guests walk by as they're as they're going as they're trying to have their dinner.

[00:34:06]So, uh yeah, buddy. Hon's keeps moving on me. uh speeder bike on the people mover track may work. They would have but it speeder bikes would have to be a thrilling very high-speed ride and they tried that with rocket rods and it didn't work. So the speeder bikes I I don't know if they would be able to to pull that off without a ton of retrofitting on that.

[00:34:39]So yeah, there's a lot of there's a lot of stuff that that that they could do with those people mover tracks. It just depends on how much money and what kind of regulations they have to deal with because I believe that's one of the one of the issues with those tracks is why they can't just throw the people mover back up is because of OSHA regulations and ADA um for evacuations. It would be it would be very difficult.

[00:35:05]Uh be cool to see a Fantastic 4 movie aesthetic for Autotopia. Yeah, that's I I would love to see all of Tomorrowland take that mid-century modern look again.

[00:35:15]Um, they kind of did that with Tomorrowland Terrace. U, they put back the, you know, interesting uh, sculpture style planter on top of the stage. So, just bring it all back and like I said, and it lends itself perfectly to become the grid. So all you have to do is inlay a little bit of lighting and some projectors and with a flip of the switch you it becomes the grid and then you've got daft punk music that you can use and you've got the end of line club that you can you can you know flip on flip a switch on in the evening or have it all day. So they'll have to move the wireless access points that sit on the people mover tracks. Yeah, there there's a lot that that's involved with that people mover track and I'm I'm pretty sure they're they're probably upset that they didn't just knock it down when they had the chance so that people just stop complaining about it.

[00:36:24]It wouldn't be as heavy on the you know as much as the rocket rods were on that on those tracks and platform.

[00:36:33]So what is the fastest Disneyland ride and what is its speed? Um I well I want to say at one point it was uh Splash Mountain because it was like a 45 m an hour drop down down Chapin Hill.

[00:36:54]But I don't I don't know what the current fastest attraction is. Somebody somebody would have to look that up and and let us know in the chat.

[00:37:01]But and before before Splash Mountain, the Montreal was the fastest ride because it could reach speeds of 35 miles an hour. And if you didn't know, uh Matterhorn gets up to I think like 22 miles an hour, 20 mph, something like that. Space Mountain 27 to 32 or 35 roughly. I think 32 is Space Mountain.

[00:37:35]When did you first go back to Disneyland? And what were your feelings?

[00:37:39]Um, let me see. When did we go to Disneyland? I want to say we went that June when they they reopened in like April or May. And we went in June, I think it was. Um, I hated the masks. I was always against masking. that that to me never really seemed to, you know, as far as, you know, forcing people. If you wanted to, it didn't matter to me, you know, whatever, you know, if you feel that that was, you know, keeping you safe or keeping other people safe because you didn't feel quite, you know, well enough.

[00:38:10]Um, so, um, that was the thing. But, uh, masking, I I was it was never a thing that I bought bought into. Um, I did it at places where, you know, like Disneyland when it was required, but then there were times where, you know, there was a time I went to Sam's Club and I was like, I'm not wearing a mask. And I'm walking around, you know, as I walked in, the lady's like, you know, sir, you need to have a mask on. And I just kept walking. They never sent security after me. People were staring at me. And I'm like, what?

[00:38:44]Sorry. Sorry if if you think I'm going to get everybody sick, but um we've lived thousands of years with people breathing around each other.

[00:38:54]Terribly sorry if if if that's going to bother you. I I'm not not I don't I don't believe that the masking was doing enough to, you know, warrant that. But, you know, and you guys may have different different opinions and and that's perfectly fine. But, you know, as far as far as I was concerned, I just and and I actually kind of surprised myself. I was like, I did not think that I would be that rebellious and that, you know, staunch and saying, you know, I'm not not following your directions when it comes to something that I don't necessarily think is doing anything.

[00:39:30]And so, yeah, it was just one of those things, you know, I was like I just it never made sense to me in the in the way they were portraying it. So, uh let me see. My imagination misremembering or is there some kind of show in that round building where the people mover was?

[00:39:52]Uh well, people mover went through several buildings. So, the round building, do you mean the platform or the one that that's now launch bay?

[00:40:04]So, uh, Interventions was in the carousel theater when I was little. Yes.

[00:40:09]Yeah. They had an innovations and that again the Tomorrowland concept is is very difficult for for any company right now to to have a land like that that you know is like, "Oh, look at what we're coming up with."

[00:40:28]because things move so fast. I mean, you know, we're we're constantly hearing, you know, now that, you know, AI within 18 to 24 months is going to basically turn everything upside down.

[00:40:42]So, how how do you how do you build a land that's, you know, dealing with stuff like that and have anything, you know, that's, you know, solid or, you know, isn't paper thin and can be stripped down and replaced instantly.

[00:40:55]So, um, so yeah, Innovations was kind of like a, you know, hey, if you don't have a Nintendo Wii, we can let you use one here, you know, kind of thing. It wasn't, it was nowhere near what it what it should have been, like the rebellious TPC. Next up, Mickey Minnie with no wrist strap. Uh, well, we did it for what, a couple years without any wrist straps, so you know, it could be done, man. uncanny welcome in. Um, uh, yeah, that's why Paris went with the jewels aesthetic, and that's why I think Disneyland should just go retro. And I thought Tomorrowland in Disney World, I thought they did a really cool one when it was a comic book style. You know, it was very much a, you know, Buck Rogers, very whimsical type of Tomorrowland. I thought that was really cool. And then they just let that drift away and now it's just a mish mash of random stuff that why do they call it even Tomorrowland? Cuz Space Mountain's there. It's like h but whatever.

[00:41:58]But yeah, I I think and that would be a fun way to have the Tomorrowlands all different because you'd have, you know, your uh Jules Vern style, you know, Victorian steampunk Tomorrowland in Paris. Then you would have a comic book Buck Rogers style in Florida and then a mid-century modern uh Fantastic 4 style in Disneyland. And I think that would be great. I think that would be fantastic.

[00:42:28]And each one of those aesthetics allow you to play with things and you can, you know, kind of bend certain IP into those without breaking the aesthetic completely.

[00:42:40]I think that's the problem that most most Disney has had with with the Tomorrowlands is they they they don't want to create an area for characters to play in. And that's why even with Galaxy's Edges, the the new change with the characters and you know, original trilogy over here, whatever here, and then, you know, sequel trilogy with Rise of Ris, it's like just let that go completely. Don't even bother.

[00:43:08]Let Luke walk around anywhere. Let Darth Vader wander the entire place. Let Kylo Ren wander all over. If they run into each other, let it be a funny interaction of why are these two characters meeting?

[00:43:20]You know, Fantasy Land, we're fine with all the different princesses, you know, meeting up or walking by each other alongside the Pearly Band, and it's not a big deal. I I don't know why the modern crop of imagineers are dead set on trying to recreate the wizarding world of Harry Potter. That was a one-off.

[00:43:42]It It's not the kind of thing that can be duplicated easily. Harry Potter was the perfect IP for that. Not only just from, you know, the sense of you can create this whole place, but the fandom wanted it like that.

[00:44:00]and the normies can get into it the same way. Galaxy's Edge didn't work like that. I think I I I I think they were trying too hard and they forgot the campy fun aspect of Star Wars. They left that out or they didn't capitalize because it was kind of there in the queue of Smuggler's Run, but it was very weird at that point. It felt very cringe.

[00:44:27]And so, um, it it just I I I I don't know. I think they needed to hire some people that really understand Star Wars, that understand the fandom of Star Wars.

[00:44:40]Um, but yeah, it's just the they need to let go of this single IP land. I mean, the best that they've done is Pandora, and that one is only an aesthetic because people don't go thinking, you know, oh, I got to get this food item.

[00:45:01]You've got to try the food item, you know, at Pandora the way people do butterbeer, the chocolate frogs, you know, all of that stuff at Wizarding World.

[00:45:12]People tell you, you've got to try these things, the merchandise. Nobody's going to Pandora thinking, "Oh, I can't wait to get People love going to Wizarding World and getting, you know, oh, I got to get my ra my Raven Ravens. Why do I keep wanting to say Ravencraftoft?

[00:45:34]What is the Raven? I forgot what the house is called even. I'm all I'm all But, you know, I want to get my Gryffindor scarf. I want to get my, you know, thing for uh Hufflepuff.

[00:45:46]There's something that's like kind of built into that. And so Wizarding World just works on a completely different Ravenclaw. That's it. Thank you. Thank you, buddy.

[00:46:01]Um, but yeah, that that's that's how Wizarding World works on a level that not very many other franchises, IPs, whatever, can work.

[00:46:12]Even Cars Land, as incredible as Cars Land is, I I don't tell anybody, oh, you got to go get your Fender over here, you know, because it would have to be in universe merchandise, and Harry Potter works like that, but other places just don't. And it's it's You got to remember the Harry Potter thing works in a real world because it's humans as wizards in this.

[00:46:38]So, it's all human stuff that works for humans. Cars Land doesn't. Pandora doesn't. Star Wars, for the most part, it doesn't unless they did it right. And they didn't do it right. They didn't let people cosplay. They didn't let people wander around and interact. They didn't have enough characters. They didn't have enough droids. There was something, you know, the the the aesthetic of the land wasn't enough to hold it together.

They need a Jabba's barge bar restaurant now. See, something like that would have been a better test for the Galactic Star Cruiser. That would have been something. Okay, do something, you know, semi-large scale. you know, give it a, you know, two to three hour run time and let it be this, you know, immersive thing where you can cosplay and dive in and become a character if you want. Or you could just kind of sit on the sidelines and watch things play out and get involved just, you know, you know, dip your toe in it because I'm not a cosplay. I don't want to I don't want to dive into a big, you know, roleplaying thing. That's not that's not me. I I get I get exhausted after about, you know, five minutes. That's why I'm really awkward with the characters. I can't, you know, it's like I don't change in that sense.

So, apparently there's there's a rabid fan base for Nightmare Before Christmas.

[00:55:44]Forget the Simpsons. How about the Muppets? If they can do it right, Muppets would be great. Muppets are a very weird um IP and it's they not not everybody can understand and definitely not everybody can write for the Muppets.

[00:56:05]The the Muppets are a very and and I think it took Jim Henson and his his cohort there that they just understood what they were they just knew what they were doing. They understood their characters, their entire world and universe that they were creating with them. And I don't think there's very many people that are of the caliber to be able to write for the Muppets.

[00:56:41]And now with the Muppets, it's it's it's even, you know, slightly more jarring being right next to Tower of Terror.

It was, oh, it's like, you know, it's I get that they were, you know, poking fun and whatnot at, you know, carnival rides and Disneyland and all that stuff, but uh so but that's that that that's I don't know the current current imagineering in even current just the current mindset in the theme park industry seems a little weird. weird in that it's very much a an entire land dedicated to one franchise, one IP or whatever. [00:58:52]Um, I know I I always catch heat for this, but Rise of the Resistance for me is not top 10. It's not a top 10 ride for me. The ambition of it is fantastic, and I like the concept. You know, the technology behind all of it is is great, but as far as a full-fledged whole, you know, you take the attraction as a whole, there's something completely lacking for me that puts it below Haunted Mansion, below Thunder Mountain, below Indiana Jones, below Tower, Definitely below Tower of Terror, um below Pirates, below It's a Small World.

[00:59:30]There's just so many other attractions that are are better, you know, and I I I will be the one to stand on, you know, out here alone saying that it is not a top 10 attraction for me. Janine, welcome in.

Uh yeah, I like I said, I know I'm I'm one of the very few people who would even, you know, say something like that.

[01:00:29]Most people are blown away by Rise the Resistance. I get it, you know, I can see why, but for me, it's very much a uh how how how would I explain? It's like a cotton candy style ride. It looks beautiful, amazing, but there's really not a lot of substance there.

[01:00:48]Whereas, you know, you got Tower of Terror, Indiana Jones, Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion. Those are complete meals, you know, start to finish, they're just amazing. Everything about them, you know, and then and then you add in the rewritability.

[01:01:05]So, but I do want to say Indiana Jones in its original form with the moving doors, crumbling pieces falling from the ceiling, actual fire blasts that are right next to the vehicle.

[01:01:22]So, but yeah, that was that that's that's my take on on Rise of Resistance. And like I said, I'm I'm hoping that uh I mean with with Epic Universe going, you know, hard on the individual IP areas, um I'm hoping that it doesn't just that that's just where the, you know, theme park and themed themed entertainment industry goes with it like that. So be interesting to see the Animal Kingdom version of Indie. Yeah. Um, I was talking to Rogue Attraction about it when he was in the chat the other day and um, Dinosaur just was not kept up very well. And so it was it was kind of like the the thing where it's like, yeah, we used to like this ride, but it's it's such a shell of its former self that you can't really enjoy it the same way.

[01:04:56]Uh but har see that's another one where you go man they just whoever was in charge of the Harry Potter development in the parks was wow they they created such a monster for the parks because you've got uh Diagon Alley Hogsme and then you connect them with the train but the train is its own experience.

[01:05:31]And again, like I said, Disney is going to try to try to capture that. It's a It's so so perfectly built for Harry Potter. I I just don't know how you can replicate it easily. And I get you got to try, but at the same time, wow. They've they've had they've had try just such big misses right now and I think Star Wars was probably the only one that could pull it off as close to Harry Potter and they basically fumbled it big time.

[01:07:55]I I I I hope you guys will join me. Um, we are scheduled for landlocked on Hang on. There we go. Um, we've got Landlock scheduled not for this coming Wednesday, but the following Wednesday. So, it is May 20th, I believe. And we will be uh exploring Fantasy Land. I'm trying to see if we can get if if in what is it 5 to 6 hours, I think that day. Um, if we can get on every single attraction in Fantasy Land. I think we can. Um, there's no fireworks, so we should be good. They won't they won't be shutting things down. Um, but we'll actually go on Peter Pan. One of the very few times that I'll get in line for Peter Pan. Um, but we'll we'll have to see how it goes.

[01:08:41]Uh, but I'm going to try to research as much fun, interesting facts. Um, and we might be doing a giveaway.

[01:08:51]And, um, I do have one special announcement that'll happen that night.

[01:10:14]She's she's very difficult for me to to surprise and shop for. So, um, it it takes takes quite a bit of effort to to do well in my in my own eyes. You know, she may think, "Oh, you're doing fine."

[01:10:27]But in my eyes, I feel like I should do more. But um, and like I said, I I'm going to probably do one of these prints um for a winner as well. Um, so we'll have we'll have some special stuff going on for uh our theme park casual donors for our chalkwalk.
