You only get one.
Only get one. Storm to go to bed.
You can do it.
Storm is gone.
Maybe it's not too long until you rest your head and get some sleep. Try to dream of something sweet.
You're going to be all right.
You're going to sleep just fine. Tonight you're going to sleep just fine tonight.
tonight.
Tonight Hey there folks, Adam going live here. I just wanted to talk about some storms in Quebec and in New Brunswick. Um my French is terrible, so I'm just going to do this in English, but I did add an extra special tool to our uh Instim Pro um admin panel here. Uh so let me show you what is going to help me drastically here. Let me just hit refresh on this.
Make sure we've loaded the latest. Um, because I can't pronounce anything. It's SAD.
Um, but I have a new special tool. And let's see if this will work. So, you have to let me know in the comments if this is actually going to work.
Hi everybody. Um, okay. So, I cannot pronounce this. I'm not even going to try. But if I click this button over here and then I click this, let me know if you can hear it.
Guhatel. See, I would not have nailed that. See, this is actually going to be a learning experience for maybe you, but definitely me.
Um, I don't like the look of the uh a little bit of a hook kind of happening with this particular storm heading towards BA Chhatel. Um, did you hear that when I clicked it? Did that Did it come through the live stream? Could not hear that. Okay. Well, maybe I should have just pretended like it was me all along.
Nope. Didn't hear it. Darn it. Let's see here. Okay. Um, it should go. Oh, I think I know why. I think I know why.
Ah, I know why. So, if I go to audio filters, if I go to audio monitor, and then if I click virtual cable B, now you hear it. Watch this.
>> Bosel.
>> Oh, see that was way different. Um, here, let me see here. If I right click it, I should be able to go to Quebec French and then it should be Quebec French every time.
>> There we go. Yes. See what I'm saying?
This is great. Ah, I can finally stream in Quebec. And I have streamed in New Brunswick many times. Um, but I butchered every single name. Um, I mean it'll be a little less funny with me not butchering all of the names. But, uh, this is started. This is a little bit interesting as well, too. Let's see what we're dealing with over here. Um, what is going on? Why am I not able to click?
H Oh, cuz I'm in this mode. Ah, it all makes sense now. Okay. I suspect names will still be butchered, says Miss Ezri. I don't know. This one's pretty good. This was This That was pretty good. Let's see here. Let's try this one. This one looks interesting. Let's try this one.
>> Serio.
>> I'm not even like see for certain names.
S deio liio. Is that what it was? Try it again.
>> Santz deio.
>> Santz deio. Is that right?
I kind of want to see a comparison between instant weather pro and weatheriz pro. That's what Ryan Hall uses. Yeah. Yeah, for sure. I mean, uh there's there's lot there's so many great pieces of software out there.
There's lots of good stuff, but uh we're building in some other pro and we really like it. And the um the CSSL seems to like it as well, too. I don't know if you heard the good news, but I'm on the uh advisory council now uh of the CSSL, which is the kind of umbrella organization of uh which called the Canadian Severe Storms Laboratory, but it's the umbrella organization of um the Northern Tornadoes Project, the Northern Hail Project, the Northern uh Mezzanet project. And so, this is getting even more interesting here. Although also we added storm relative velocity to Canadian radar, which has never been done before. So, that's pretty exciting.
Uh that rotation is definitely weakened out of that which is good. Um we did want to talk about the storms that are going to be moving into New Brunswick um a little bit later on here. Actually, they're almost there. Let's see what we've got here. What do we got over there? Let me Oh, I have to turn this. I always forget to turn off the Okay, so there is severe thunderstorm watch in New Brunswick. Um moderate impact level forecast confidence is high. Conditions are favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms. might be capable of producing strong wind gusts. So, they're talking about near 90 km an hour wind gusts. Um, that's pretty much the only risk they're talking about. And I have to agree just based on what I've seen, it looks like mainly a wind risk over there. Um, there is a VTP of one, the violent tornado parameter. You can see right here from the mezzo analysis page of the storm prediction center. You can see that there's a one right there and that goes kind of into New Brunswick. But I don't based on what we've seen in the model data, it doesn't look like uh any tornado risk will be heading that way. It looks like there was a little bit of a tornado risk here for Quebec and Environment Canada actually mention a tornado risk in their severe thunderstorm watch, I believe.
Oh, sorry. Was it in their severe thunderstorm watch? No, they didn't mention it in the severe thunderstorm watch, but they did mention it in their daily forecast, which we also have on Instant Weather Pro. Um, so you can actually go in the menu down to uh where are we here? Thunderstorm forecast. So you can go to day one and you can see environment Canada's forecast underneath all here. So if you go to thunderstorm outlook you can see um the QSPC which is the Quebec storm prediction center uh they did uh moderate isolated thunderstorms tornado risk yes and then 80 to 100 km an hour uh wind gusts and 1 to 2 centimeters of hail. So uh nice to have the thunderstorm outlooks built in. And actually in our new app, we're going to every time those thunderstorm outlooks uh show up, you're going to be able to see them in the app.
So you're not even going to have to subscribe to InSome Weather Pro, even if you just have our free app, you're going to be able to see um if there is a severe thunderstorm forecast from Environment Canada for your location. We should probably automatically notify them, too. Just like just like the alerts, right? I mean, you want to know.
It's like basically they send out their forecast, then they put out a watch, then they put out warnings. that you this is this is how the process typically goes, right? Forecast, watch warnings. Well, if you're in the area that may eventually get warned, wouldn't you like to know, you know, in the early afternoon when the forecast goes out, right? I think that would make sense. Um, go Habsco.
What's up, Habs 316? Thanks for uh thanks you. Sorry, Canada. Thanks you all for what you do to keep us safe. Go Habsco. Thanks so much. Appreciate it.
That was quite a win they had there. So, pretty impressive. Um, and when Instant Weather 2.0, I mean, it's it's basically ready. Brennan pretty much said like like it's it's go time. Like, we should just launch it. So, there's a couple things. Oh, I want to show you something we did which is super exciting. It's going to be super exciting for all those who like the old app. Um, I should just tell you we built the old app into the new app. So, you have the option. So when you first open the app, it's going to say, do you want to use the old version of the app or do you want to like it's not the old version of the app. It's basically the the old app style built into the new app. And it it's like one to one. It looks it looks so identical to the to the Here, I'll show you. Okay, here's here's Ottawa.
Like it is Oh, you can't see this.
That's a green bar, right? I have a green green screen effect on. So you can't see the green bar, but I mean it's literally if you have our old app, I know like touch the bars, like view the hourly data. We did it one to one cuz I know there was a lot of people, including like my brother. My brother's like, I'm going to miss the old app. He was like sad about it and I'm like, well, we can just like, you know, put the old app inside of the new app and then you can just use it like that. And he's like, oh, okay, well that's great.
So anyways, yeah. So, if you want to use the old style of the app, you can. And if you want to use the new style of the app, you can. You'll have both options.
So, anyways. Yeah. Yeah. We did say in the last stream that it would be in the next two weeks. I know. But then we got busy doing like rebuilding the old app into it. There's a few other things we want to do. We're going to be improving the widget as well, too. Um, people are already testing. We have like a whole team of beta testers and they're giving us excellent feedback on it. So, um, it's coming. It's coming. I probably shouldn't have said two weeks lately. I said we want to for sure be launched by June 1st, but I want to be for sure be launched before that. So, let's let's go ahead and say a couple weeks again.
Probably maybe a week is something like that. Week, two weeks. I'm going to be live streaming exactly two weeks and then you're going to be mad at me again, right? Launch it. I need dark mode. You know what we're going to do, too? We're not We're actually going to put dark mode into the old apps, too. like the dark mode that was always like expected of the old app. There'll be a dark mode version of the old app, too. So, you have both.
There'll be like an improved version of the old app and also an entirely brand new built from the ground up. Uh, fantastic. Anyways, yeah, it's a it's it's been a lot of work. It's been it's been some hours. Oh, boy.
Is the IW app better than the iPhone weather app on your iPhone? I I think so. And there's a definitely a lot more information. Um whether that means it's better or not. I mean, the it the Apple app is a pretty slick app. It's it's, you know, it's really easy to use. It's um pretty straightforward. It's pretty cool. But is this one better? I kind of biased, but I'm gonna go with yes. But I they're they're just different. They're different for different I think people that are more interested in like is there severe thunder is there a severe weather threat for my area? They want a little bit more detail, a little bit more data. Um you know, we have instant weather pro what you're looking at right here built right into the app as well too. Um, so there's a lot more information for, you know, severe weather, people that want to know more about severe weather, then I would say, um, yes. But for people just kind of want to know if it's like going to rain or not and like what the temperature is, Apple app is probably better. Let's just Oh, wait. Except that we actually tested their data. So, Apple has their data available. So, you can actually just use their data. It used to be called Dark Sky. It was it was these these guys created this app called Dark Sky and they sold it to Apple for who knows how much. Apple acquired them for I don't know probably billions or something or hundreds of millions of dollars I'm assuming. Um and so Dark Sky was the most popular app in the US. So it's actually uh so the Apple data is really good in the US but for Canada we've tested it and it kind starts the further you go north the more it starts to fall apart. So So yeah. So, if it's in the States, I would say the um the Apple app is very it's fine. I mean, to be fair, it powers my Apple Watch. Like, I have like the Apple I don't have it on right now, but I have the Apple um like watch face that has the Apple app and I just use it for like temp temperature at a glance. Sure, it's fine. But we're going to build a Apple app uh Apple Watch app as well and it will be superior, I think. Manique says, "Thanks for doing the work you do." You're very welcome. It's our pleasure.
Will we be able to submit pictures of damage on the new app? You absolutely will. I think I showed you that on the live stream, but there's a whole reporting page um like this.
And then you can click um capture weather on it and then it has and it has a um compass at the top so we know which direction you're facing. It has the date, the time, your location if as long as you allow location services in the app. Um, if it doesn't then it wouldn't have the location. I don't mean like your like address. I mean it would say like Barry, Ontario or it would say, you know, Montreal, Quebec or something, you know, it'll say like the city or town you're in or the closest city or town to where you are. Um, just so like when and then you can take that and you can post it to um, you know, you can post it to uh, Facebook or whatever or social media and uh, and then you'll have all that information like baked into the video or baked into the photo which is pretty cool.
In some other pro is fantastic also.
Thank you so much. There's so many cool things we've done within some other pro.
We've actually so if if you all remember the story of we actually originally built in some other pro because the northern tornadoes project said hey we need a better product for Canada. Can you do it? And we said maybe and then we did. Um look at the winds on this wild.
Let me go back to regular velocity here.
Now the winds are still quite strong. So pretty strong winds here. um heading from areas like >> east towards >> Monteu >> Monteu. I could I probably shouldn't be able to handle that one. also areas like >> and heading east towards >> San Fril >> I even on my bestest day I could never pronounce it like that it would take me a while take me a while says hey Adam and chatters bring on the spring warmer weather please that's the plan let's go warm weather so there's this pocket of VTP here. This is the violent tornado parameter. And so we actually have those overlaid now in in some other pro. So I I don't think it's live yet for everybody, but this section right here, the SPC mess analysis, you enable it, you choose which which area you want. You can also do auto um and then you can all of the different options.
And then we're literally just taking the images from their site and overlaying it um here. So violent tornado parameter is what we're on right now. Let's see what the uh supercell composite clean looks like. Um yeah, so there's supercell in place. Nothing too too strong. That looks like a two. So this would be a one. Um so there's a supercell of one in place. We have the fronts in place now.
So you can see um you know exactly like not exactly. It updates every 3 hours, but that's where the cold front was when this updated.
It'd be nice if there was Oh, you know what? Every time I'm live, I swear I figure out new features. It'd be cool if the fronts said exactly when the last time they're updated is. So when you go into like the settings, you can go to the fronts and you can see also, you know what I need to do? So if you shrink these all down in the settings, the settings become a lot less clustered.
Ah, isn't that nice? How nice that is.
But there should be an onoff for all of these. You can turn all of Wait, that doesn't make sense of radar settings, but anyways. Yeah, maybe it' be cool if there's like some fully onoff thing. So like for weather alerts, it's just like an onoff right here. the drawing tool on off SPC meo analysis. So you can get to those really easy like click on off for weather features all of them on or all of them off. Radar settings doesn't make any sense. There shouldn't be any on off there. I guess mosaic radar should probably go into like radar layers.
Yeah, radar settings needs to be trimmed down and then we'll put mosaic into something else. Anyways, yeah, I digress. Um, does the mosaic work in here? I don't know if we built Did we build the mosaic into this?
Don't know if we did.
I don't think it works right now.
Where is it? Radar settings. Mosaic radar.
Let's see. What if I just like slide the slider? No, I don't think we have it built into um our admin panel here yet.
No, we don't. Okay. Um but it will be soon.
Okay. Back to the storms. Let's see what's happening here. Oh, did we just get a new frame? We did. We got the 517 frame. The cool thing about Inother Pro is that we uh we process and send you the newest uh Canadian radar frames faster than any other thing I've tested by a substantial margin in a lot of cases.
>> Oops. I don't know. I didn't mean to click that.
It's nice to have that though. Ah, technology. Okay, let's see here. 8% tornado risk on that sale near uh Bua Bhatel. Is that what it was?
Let's see what I Let's see if I did it.
>> Bhatel.
>> Hey, what's up? I'm learning one step at a time here, folks. One step at a time. I am learning things. Uh I don't like the look of that.
And there's a hook there. Right near um right near >> Yeah, right near there. Um little bit of rotation there. Let's go to storm relative velocity. Okay, it doesn't look as bad with SRV, but just on just regular velocity, it's got an interesting look to it. Let's go to tilt two. H tilt three.
Yeah, I don't like the look of that.
There's a little bit of I feel like there's a little bit of minor rotation on that cell.
Let me go back a frame here. Yeah, see there was a little there was a little pinch here. There's a little something something right there. And then what did SRV look over here? Okay, it didn't look that bad. But then I go to the next one.
Yeah, there's something going on.
Definitely something going on. Give me just a second. I'll be right back.
All right, I'm back. Sorry about that. Oh no, it's French town names again. Oh no, did you not see what we've got? Now we've got skills. Watch this.
Yay.
Now I can't mess things up. I mean, I obviously still can, but um yeah, I don't like the look of this. I don't like the fact that Tilt 2's got something going on here as well, too.
Let's switch over to um let's go to not dual mode and not triple mode, but let's go to quad mode.
That's right. We got quad mode. Adam has a new superpower.
That's right. I do. Okay. Um, let's go full screen on this here.
Actually, let's open it up a bit. Okay.
So, I just wanted to see um actually undo full screen. So, that's tilt.
This is tilt one and that's tilt two.
That doesn't look right. Oh, that's tilt two as well. Oh, no. This should be tilt one. There we go. So, there's tilt one.
There's tilt two. Here's correlation coefficient.
So, uh, you know, we're looking for a potential debris signature here. If I zoom in on what looks like a little bit of a messo, I'm not seeing anything that sticks out as like a debris issue. So, um, but we should keep an eye on this. I would think it's nice to see tilt one, tilt two, though.
Mhm. Mhm. But that new superpower. Yeah, it's fun.
I kind of want to keep an eye on this.
Actually, I kind of want this one to be I want this to be correlation coefficient. And I want this one over here to be actually, you know what? No, leave that.
I'm going to make this SRV. Hold on. Oh, we have um spectrum width now. Anyways, um let's go SRV. There we go.
And let's make this one velocity. That's right. Yeah, there we go. So, there's regular velocity. This is what it looks like in storm relative velocity. Okay.
Uh, thank you so much for becoming a new member there, weatherholic cat.
Appreciate it.
Yeah, now we can do the French names without uh, you know, for the most part without making brutal mistakes.
Oh.
It's always a good thing, I think.
But yeah, so again, if you haven't seen it yet, we built the old app into the new app. So if you want to use the old app inside of the new app, you can. This is our new app, but we built in the old app. So you can basically so you can use the old app style, right? And same with uh if you go to the hourly, you can basically use the exact style here. you know, it's it's the same as it was before. Or you go to the settings and you can switch it to the new version. So, in the settings, you'll there's original and updated, and then you can go to the updated version, right? Yeah. See the clouds moving? It's kind of cool.
So, that's the new version. The new version's cool. New version's interesting. You know, if you don't like the new version, you can always switch back to the old version. So, I'm glad that we're able to do that. Hello from Monton. Hey, thank you so much for joining us, Shannon Thickens. Appreciate it.
Um, we did want to talk about the storms heading over towards New Brunswick because some of them look uh pretty decent actually, depending on your perspective of what decent means with storms.
But yeah, they look pretty interesting.
where we at here on 3% tornado risk, 8% total severe risk. The overall tornado risk um into New Brunswick is low.
Um so we're kind of doubtful that that will be anything too substantial.
Uh but the wind potential for New Brunswick is pretty uh is uh is pretty strong to some degree.
could see some isolated uh damaging windows.
Let me go over to violence parameter. I just want to take a peek.
Uh this might be a bit much for you with the quad mode. Sorry, I just I like being in quad mode here. Let's go back to single mode. Actually, swipe is the best because then I can just swipe back and forth. Another thing that Instant Other Pro only has Sorry, someone in the in the comments was asking me to compare Insome Other Pro to some other apps. Um we got cool stuff like swipe mode. Yeah, we're the only swipe mode for now. I'm sure everybody will copy us, but for now, we're the only one.
Water Depot.
Water Depot is not our sponsor. Um, but I just like that song. I don't know why I got it stuck in my head.
There's probably a lot of people have no idea what Water Depot is. It might only be in Barry Water.
It's got a catchy tune. Whoa.
A lot of noise here. So, this is tricky when you're dealing with severe thunderstorms and there's all of this noise. It's like this looks like it would be some really strong couplet, but I think it's just noisy mess. Yeah, I don't think that's anything too substantial. watching the storm move into uh or just move through Quebec City, heading off to the east to areas such as >> and Rocher Flurry.
>> Uh Robbie says, "No SBC Mezo for me yet." Yeah, it's it's like it's literally done. We just have to we just have to cherrypick it and and put the put those changes into the main one. Did you see the new loading screen? By the way, you do have the new loading screen.
I know it's not that cool, but it looks like this.
Ah, interesting.
You don't see this often with these areas having that. Actually, Quebec is like Quebec gets a a boatload of tornadoes, it seems, compared to some areas. Um, and I believe it or not, New Brunswick has its fair share of activity as well. I've seen some pretty darn strong storms and several tornadoes on radar. Not actually in New Brunswick, but um, yeah, it's there's it's had its fair share. This is a decent little storm that's just about to cross into New Brunswick right now in such areas as Florenceville, Bristol.
>> See, why?
Why is it Oh, that's not a French thing.
Florenceville, Bristol. Yeah, that Why would I think that was French? When I drove through New Brunswick, the only thing I heard was people talking French speaking in French. I never heard anybody speak in English until I spoke in English. And then they'd be like, "Oh, yeah. What's up?" But when I drove through New Brunswick, like everywhere I stopped, whether it was Monton or I don't know, I I stopped in a few different places and literally every store I went into, everybody was speaking French.
Can you use this for English sounding towns as well? Yeah. So, I have an option here. I can right click here and go to auto and let it try to decide which one it is, which I probably should use, but put it looks like it figured it out. I left it on Quebec French and it still figured out that that was How do you pronounce this? I always thought it was mirror >> Let's see. Do it again.
>> Why did it change?
Uh, okay. That's what I I thought.
Anyways, yeah, I digress.
I digress. But let's see here.
There's so many places I've never known what how they Okay, let's try this one.
Lazaras Lazaras.
How about this one?
>> NRAAM Oilatric the Buckland.
I'm having way too much fun. Just so you know.
>> I'm glad the squirrel king of Squirrel Depot is safe. Yeah, the squirrel king safe. Calgary Tech, thanks for the super chat. Appreciate it. Did I miss any of them?
Oh, Bright Light sent a super chat with that with that question as well, too.
Um, thank you so much, Bright Light.
Appreciate it. Uh, thank you to um I know this guy. What's up? Yay. How you doing? Thanks so much for becoming a new member. Appreciate it. It's very kind of you.
And uh let's see here. And Calgary Tech again for your super chat. It's very kind of you. Ma, is it Mishi? Is that right? You got to go got a little I'm half Dutch so they had a little There's a little So I got that. I got that. It comes naturally.
Let me try it again. Hold on. Let me just make sure.
>> Okay. One time it had and then this next time it didn't.
Let's go to Quebec French. Let's try >> Miramichi.
No, that's not what we want. I think it broke. I think it broke. Okay, we go to Quebec French and hit. Let me just refresh.
That was That's how I would pronounce it. Mirramichi. It just like the most not French proper pronunciation here.
Let's try it. Okay.
>> Ah, mishi.
Mmishi.
Is the audio not rolled out to everyone yet either? I would. We're not We're not rolling that out to anyone. This is just for me to not butcher things on the live stream. The audio is not being rolled out to everyone.
We are unless unless everybody thinks that it's a good idea. Then maybe maybe you know we are probably not rolling out of one.
People are just going to go click all over the world, rack up our API hits.
We did not build something for this.
We're just hitting an API to get a voice out. Let's see here.
I just wanted to play with it. I I It's fun to play with.
Maybe we Maybe we should do it. Maybe we should stand up our own our own uh voice to text model and like Maybe we should do it.
That could be something cool.
Adam using cheat codes for words. I have to. I have to. For the last 13 years, I have been absolutely decimating the pronunciation of everything, including just simple, you know, simple thing like Tsville. You think I'd somehow know that, but no, I didn't. I was like Tamesville. And people are like, "No, I said Famesville." And then they're like, "No, it's Tamsville." I'm like, "I can read."
And there's a th there. But yeah, it turns out uh Yeah, it turns out, yeah, it's just just some voice to text model thing or text to voice with particular pronunciations. So anyways, yeah, I mean, it's something.
It's something, but we could probably stand up our own model to do that. Let's see here. I'm just watching these storms as they come in. The environment is actually decent in Maine.
Um, oh yeah, we have the SBC forecast, too. So, if I go down to uh SBC tornado for day one. Yeah, see, it goes right along the border, goes through Maine, right along the border from from the US system.
So, yeah. So, both Environment Canada and um the National Weather Service down south are both talking about tornado potential and basically this corridor. Um there has been no mention of tornado risk over in New Brunswick that has remained just a wind risk and there's a little bit of hail risk there as well too. But this particular storm here that happens to be over by >> Presque Isle.
>> Pres is really okay. Seems like it would have more of a French French pronunciation.
Let's see if this does anything. It's probably still press again.
>> Pres is >> Quebec French. Let me just try do something more.
>> Pres is.
>> No, it just wants it to be in English.
Okay. Well, I do have the option to put day one, but the other settings aren't there. Um, sorry. Uh, day one. Did you mean day one? um the Environment Canada thunderstorm forecast or did you mean day one for uh the SPC?
Oh, for the SPC? Really? I should go to the original page to see. So you have SPC, you just have day one. You don't have day two and day three and day four to eight. Really?
You have the opacity slider.
We got to we got to get on that.
Got to make We have all these all these great improvements and we have to keep pushing them out to the what we call master or the main, which is the production version that everybody has access to. Um that all of our subscribers of course have access to.
Let's see here.
Interesting.
All right. Well, there was a few storms that looked pretty interesting and now they look less interesting.
This one is still not too shabby. The one that is near Presk Isle, Maine, heading east towards areas like I don't even need to click these areas. I can I can pronounce these, can't I?
Bonacord upper Kentor. See if I got that one right.
>> Upper kinto >> or uh river du river dash rivier. I don't want to say it.
Oh, it didn't like me.
>> River doot.
That's definitely there's definitely more of a French version of that. But anyways, okay. Um, let's see here.
There's a restart.
These are all like an alpha testing.
This is like day one of testing these features. So, um, I am not surprised that they might have issues. Let's see here.
Thought you had some other settings there too. Uh, yeah, for different things.
Priscile. Ah, interesting. Prisk eel.
Really? So it's so the model's getting it wrong. Hey, what else is new?
And again, uh, severe thunderstorm watch into parts of New Brunswick here. The tornado risk on this cell's gone down to 1%. The Grandfall cell, not seen any tornado risk with that at all, at least on radar.
Nothing substantial there. This is severe thunderstorm risk here. Uh, no severe thunderstorm risk to the south.
So, there's that. I think probably want to get rid of this polygon that we posted, which would have been um hail, wind, and a rotation risk that went on that particular storm is done by Shannon, Quebec, and was moving to the east. Um, let's take a look at CASSF.
Yeah, that's all looking pretty decent.
Press skill. Press skill. Ah, cool.
Thank you, Patricia.
So, let's see here. Wonder when Ottawa will get a tornado warning this year.
Seems to be at some point. It usually happens. um impossible to pinpoint it, but you know, June, July, August, those are usually the the classic times. Let's see here.
Um, thank you, Robbie. I appreciate it.
VA, I know that one.
Roller says it's better to not want a warning.
I don't think anybody wants to see destruction of property and people injured or uh killed. Nobody wants to see that. Um you know, but in a field far away, some people are would like to, you know, to be able to see, wow, there's a funnel cloud, there's a tornado. As long as it's not hurting anybody, I'm not in danger. You know, there's some people that they sit they sit within that window of like, I'd like to see it, but I don't want to be in the path of it, and I don't want anybody to get hurt kind of thing, right?
There's definitely a a portion of the community that is like that. And then there's a portion of community is like, I don't want them to happen at all ever.
Please, no.
But I mean, we kind of have to deal with the fact that they are an eventuality.
They've been happening before humans and they'll just continue to happen. It's just the way we've got a moon, you know, we've got these forces pulling, we've got these different uh wind patterns that come together, hot and cold, yada yada yada. These things happen.
Try to water down water that down a bit.
Whoa. Is there some storms down here?
Looks like there's some storms in southwestern Ontario right now, but nothing too exciting.
and a storm over here.
Yeah, southwest of south of Hamilton.
Again, nothing too exciting. Some storms in eastern Ontario. There was a little bit of potential for some severe storms on in Ontario, but I think that's pretty much pretty much withered out unless this decides to get going, but I don't think so. Could be some gusty winds on that.
Could be some gusty winds. I think that was the only risk. It was like 70 km an hour winds and 1 to 2 centimeter hail from Environment Canada for Eastern Ontario. I mean, you can actually see like if you have Instin Pro, you just click on the map, click thunderstorm outlook, and you can see here weather threat minor, thunder thunderstorms isolated, wind gust risk 70 km an hour, hail risk 1 to 2 centimeters per hour, yada yada yada.
And now, oh, there's so many places I want to know how to pronounce.
Ah, what about this place? Okay, I'm sorry, I'm getting a little off the topic here. Is it the >> plantage? Plantage.
>> Uh, what about this?
>> Shoot a blondo.
>> Ab blondo. Shoot ablondo. Ah, shoot ablondo.
Wee wee. Okay, let's see here. Um, still a little bit of VTP, little 0.5 violent tornado parameter. Nothing too substantial. Uh, this storm is still under a severe thunderstorm warning from Environment Canada. What are they talking about here? Strong wind gusts.
Very strong wind gust up to nickel size hail and heavy rain. They don't they don't put a number on it, but they're saying very strong wind gust are possible with this particular storm east of Quebec City.
Oh, looks like we do have an update on that. I don't know if we automatically refresh that or not. Let me see. I'll just hit refresh.
Is that Oh, that's tornado parameter.
Okay. I thought that was VTP.
Yeah. Yeah. So, a little bit of VTB creeping into New Brunswick, but these storms are they're not looking that exciting.
Looking kind of boring, actually. I'm fine with boring. I'm good with it. And I sure I'm sure many of you are as well.
We prefer boring. No one wants to see anything too significant going through populated areas. And southern Canada is just pretty populated. You know, pretty much everywhere you go, there's there's people. So to some degree we added uh outages to Canadian radars, right? Stripped right off Environment Canada's website. Um it's nice to have. You'll also notice too um sometimes these turn orange and that's when there's like a a little bit of an outage but maybe not even just maybe like the it hasn't refreshed in a while and you'll see it orange. You click on it and it goes black. It goes back to you know it's like the dark color. Um, let's see what's going on here. Is my computer running slow?
Speed up.
I see. There we go. Nothing too exciting over here in Manitoba. We're going to head back over to the action because this is where things are interesting.
to some degree.
Somewhere in there, St. St. Louis duha.
I know. As if there's a place literally called St. Louis Da.
Yeah, Robbie, they switched to um a b them and a bunch of chasers in the states switched to a few different apps.
There's quite a quite a scramble going on state side with all the stormchasers and all the different apps that they're switching around to. So, it's uh quite entertaining.
We still thank your efforts. Thank you so much, Roller 300. Appreciate it.
All right. Well, I think there's probably a little bit of a wind risk with these storms heading into New Brunswick. Nothing substantial as far as a tornado risk is concerned from what I can tell. We're not expecting anything too substantial over there. Only reason real reason we went live in New Brunswick is to basically say like these storms coming in could have a wind risk, a lightning risk as well. Um perhaps a little bit of isolated flooding and maybe some small hail, but nothing too substantial. We did want to keep an eye on these Quebec storms as they head over towards Maine.
Uh they seem like they are not as exciting as they were a few frames ago.
They're definitely starting to taper off here.
The earlier models looked pretty impressive, but as the day went on kind of got weaker and weaker and weaker, and so we're like, should we go live? Should we not? Well, there's lots of stuff we need to test. Might as well go live.
Even if we didn't think this was going to turn into too much, we thought, might as well go live. And we want to test this right here.
>> Smash Smash.
I'm enjoying this way too much. Okay.
Can we show off differential reflectivity, please? or that ZVR metric, rising falling air. Um, perhaps 2% tornado risk in New Brunswick. What do you mean? On IW storm risk on that cell on this cell, >> limestone.
>> Oh, whoops. Still have the voice thing on.
Where are you seeing the 2%? Do you mean the uh do you mean from the SPC?
Is that referring to Robbie?
I don't see any cells there with a 2% on them.
You clicked right by Rapid Depot.
Rapid depot.
Shelma, if that's how you pronounce your name, says, "It's been very windy here in New Brunswick all day."
Rapid depot.
Okay. You clicked by Rapid Depot. this cell.
All I see is 01 or 0.1. Oh, it dropped to 0.1. Okay, I see. So, the previous the previous time is 2%. Yeah, at 2% is really not that much to get excited about. Unless if I saw 2% and there was like a messyone there, like a strong rotation, then I might be a little bit more interested in it. But if usually I see 2%, I look at the storm and it's it's a yawnfest. So, all right. I think we should get rid of this. Oh, do we have new we have new things?
New things, current notifications.
Ah.
Ah. So now we finally after all of these years, we can finally adjust the expiration time. You can't see the drop down. Anyways, hail wind and rotation risk. Um, we can get rid of this.
Interesting.
Tells you the exact time it start. So by default, they're going to be two hours and they're automatically expire. You know, sometimes we've been live streaming before where like we're too busy and then we don't like get rid of the old polygons and we have to like go and clean them up. Now it'll just magically happen on its own. Hooray.
Um but this one I might want to scrap. I think so because this is looking pretty yawnfest. Yeah, I don't think that's really going to kick it off here. What do we got here?
Two Here's a 2% tornado. Uh not too excited about that line. Let me just look at it with uh storm relative velocity.
Yeah, I'm going to get rid of that. So, oopsie. Current notifications. Delete.
Yes, I want to get rid of it. Ah, look at that. No current notifications.
You can do that all right here. All inside of Instant Other Pro. Now, these are some features that uh you don't get.
This is just for our admin team to be able to notify storms. Um, but it's cool.
That ain't no Squirrel Depot.
Yes, the Squirrel Depot. It's captured the hearts and imaginations of all Canadians and and others. Very, very possibly.
What's going on with this? How do you pronounce this? That's a decent little cell. Okay, I want to know how to pronounce Ramuski. Is it just Ramuski? Let's see.
>> Remoski.
>> Ah, Remoski. Ah, what about this? Ah, this is S. Gabrielle de Rimoski.
S Gabriel Rimoski.
Uh, Monti.
>> Not bad. Not bad.
Thank you for the heads up, Adam. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Agreed. Absolutely.
Well, those of us who don't live 10 minutes away from Squirrel Depot. Any update to the new app roll out? Yeah, I don't know if you saw before. So, um, so you remember like it looks like this, right? Okay. Um, but so a few people reached out to me and they were like kind of sad. There was like a tear in their eye about the fact that the old app was going away and they'll never be able to use that UI again. And I was like, don't worry. We built the old app into the new app.
Here it is. You can't that's a green bar and I'm using a green screen. So that's why that green is invisible. Um but yeah so we built the like literally it's one to one exactly the old app into the new even the the drop downs the way things move the hourly product and let me find some some time where it's raining so you can see it even has the same like rain animation like identical. Um let's see here.
there.
Exactly the same. So, we built the old app into the new app. So, um overall, that's cool. Um yeah, so we built the old app into the new app. Just for the people that, you know, you you just like things the way they are, you don't want them to change, we got you.
If you want to try out the new version, we got you, too. You can switch back and forth between them. So, uh so the old app is not really going away. We're we've given it an extra shot of life and uh you can use that inside of the new app. But the new app is just so much better in so many other ways. Like the radar is so much better. There's a million things about it that are better.
Um let's see if we can show the radar here.
This should probably show it. Yeah.
The all the green in the radar is going away, but you can see how smooth the radar is now. It's so cool.
Sweet. Anyways, um yeah. So, there's a million things about the about the new app that is better, but the uh but some people really like that old style. So, legacy mode. That's what we're talking about.
Exactly. It's legacy mode. We just called it original and then we'll call the new one extra crispy. No. Um so, it'll be original and updated. Those are the names we used. We'll use original updated. Do you want to use the original version of the app or the updated version of the app?
You get both options. Yeah.
All right, I think that's about it. I just wanted to watch those uh those Quebec storms to see if they were going to get nasty. Um I hope these winds aren't actually what they say they are on radar. 113 km an hour based on the environment.
Probably not. But yeah, but if any of those winds kind of come down towards the surface, then we might be able to see some pretty strong wind gusts here.
Let's see what it looks like from the US radar. Let me go back a frame here.
H why is the US radar being being mean?
Let me see here. Let's just hit refresh.
I like that animation, too. It's sweet.
Let's see what you got.
This was all loading amazingly fast. Oh, there we go. Okay. Um yeah, see on US radar doesn't look that strong. So, by the way, I don't know if you saw this before. If you haven't seen this before, I'm going to show you how we notify now.
It is so friaking cool. Okay, if I click this storm track and I click this plus button, I get this polygon. If I want to rotate it, if I want to change the size size and shape of it, you know, put it like here. And then I just press this plus button automatically generating description.
Bam. It says, "We're carefully monitoring a storm located a storm located 21 km northwest of Greater Napony near Tweed traveling northeast at 89 km an hour. If it maintains that speed and direction, it will reach Shbot Lake by 632 and Perth by 648. Radar estimates wind gust at 165 km an hour."
Yeah. So, it's picking up on those wild wind gust. So, I can just click that turn that off. Um, you know, 3,000 people I can notify right there. Um, here's the Twitter preview. Here's a bunch of other stuff we can add, too. We can change the color. We can add like minor rotation risk, different hail risk, all that kind of stuff. And uh yeah, and we can change, we can click the different storm tracks. So now this is only possible now that we have uh storm tracks in Canada. It's like so awesome that we have storm tracks in Canada now. Sweet. So now that we have that, we can really like uh we can really narrow this stuff down. Um yeah.
Isn't that cool? And then I can just hit the lead button and it's gone. All right. I want to see how to pronounce a few different a few different places.
I'm trying to learn here. I want to learn. Learn with me. We should learn how to pronounce these. Let's see. This looks interesting. Okay. First, I'm going to try and then I'm going to click. Okay.
S Joseph San Jose.
Not bad. That was not bad.
Uh Tingwick.
>> Okay, here we go. This one. This one looks harder.
>> Sm.
>> Oh, deframe. Why is it e with a accent g accente? And then there's the house. I don't know. I'll try it again.
>> Why is it Why is that a DOS?
Okay, fine.
All right. What else we got here?
There's so many There's so many saints across Quebec. Like almost every single town is a is a song. What about this one? Okay. Just de I can't pronounce this.
would have never got that.
I got a few of them though. I got a few.
I should leave it at that. Wait, what's this one? Okay. Son, Alexandra de Camurasa.
Camurasa.
Camurasa.
S. Alexandra de Camarasa.
>> S Alexandra the Camarasa.
>> Bravo.
I'm not allowed to say bravo to myself.
Right. Okay. Somebody said in the comments here, right?
Thank you. I appreciate it. All right.
This should be the Oh, there we go. St. St. Louis duhaha.
>> San Daha. Oh, they said aaha. Where's the aha?
It just says daha.
Sana.
>> That can't be right.
Oh man, this is going to be tricky.
Uh, it wasn't it wasn't good. Oh, silent do. Okay.
I didn't know this is going to be this much fun. I'm And this is like This is so much fun. Okay. Uh, I'll do like two more and then I'm going to shut down the stream. Here we go.
That was pretty good.
All right. What else we got here?
Uh, there's a lot of Ramuskis going on here.
Lots of Ramuskis. more ramuskis. How many ramkis are there?
Okay. Um Okay, I'm gonna do one more.
I'll do the most difficult one I can find. Uh I'll do these two because they both look really hard. Okay. Restigush.
Is it restigg party?
That can't be right.
That's not even going to pronounce it.
Come on.
All right. What about this one?
restig.
>> Oh, restig. Ah, restig.
Okay, let's see here. Um, uh, what about Alexis Datapedia?
Sexisedia.
>> S. Alexiedia.
>> That's it. I'm That's I'm shutting it down. It doesn't get better than that.
Shutting it down.
All right. Oh, I better go take a look at the Ramuski storm because it actually What do we got here? What's going on?
Where's my radar? Oh, there we go.
Okay. Okay. Okay. Oh, I got to >> I can turn that off. I turn that off. I should be able to click. There we go.
Okay. Okay. Okay.
Decent little storm right there near Ramus and uh and I'm not I'm going to stop. I need to stop while I'm somewhat ahead because I did nail a few of those with with no prior knowledge. This one going into New Brunswick is falling apart. It's getting pretty soft. So, I don't think it's uh doesn't look too concerning. and we'll see what happens as it goes into New Brunswick, but right now it's looking not too exciting, which is which is good news for those New Brunswick. You're going to get some rain.
Let me just take check out storm relative velocity.
There's velocity.
There's storm relative velocity. Not too much different. And the US radar is right here. And it looks super boring on that storm. And what's the percentages here? Oopsie.
Uh 6% total severe. Okay. All right. I think that's it. We're going to shut down the stream. Obviously, we're going to be back for more. It is storm season, folks. It is time. So, we want to get get I'm going to get back to chipping away with this. Um we want to get that out. We want to get this app out as soon as we can so that everybody has the new version of the app. We want to get it nice and stress tested, make sure it's working great. Um, I think it's going to be solid. We're super stoked about it.
So, anyways, yeah, lots of lots of really cool things coming. Um, did they miss the missed the storm forecast uh position or portion? Um, yeah. Well, I mean, we just kind of talked about some of the storms moving east from Quebec into New Brunswick. So, we didn't talk about too much of of an actual forecast. Um, but yeah, there's some there's there's a couple. This is probably the most decent storm out there right now, right near Ramuski, Quebec.
and uh it could just bring some strong winds with it. So yeah, like pretty strong winds down here. This is actually interesting. This is 91 km an hour right on that front and it's not too far from that radar.
And what's going on right here?
Let's go to storm relative velocity.
Interesting.
Yeah, some pretty strong winds on the on the front edge of that of that line. In fact, there is no severe thunderstorm warning on this right now. Just a severe thunderstorm watch. There's not even a severe thunderstorm watch on that storm.
Which way is this going?
The storm track is bang on. Look at that. Yeah, that storm track is bang on.
All right, we're going to notify this. I think there's some pretty strong winds in there. Let's make this a lot larger.
Something like that. And then let's make it taller.
Make it a little bit longer that way.
Bring it down to me. Right about there.
I like to talk about the winds on this particular storm.
Maybe bring the length of it down a bit.
Yeah, something like that. I think I like how we can just adjust this on the fly. It's nice. Okay, so I think that's probably pretty good. And now all I got to do is click the plus button.
Bam. We're carefully monitoring a storm located 2.8 km southeast of Ramuski.
Was it 2 km southeast? Looks like it's pretty much in Ramuski.
Oh no, it is 2.8 km southeast of I think at 2.8 km should just say near, right? Do some tweaks on that. We're located carefully monitoring storm. I'm just going to say near Ramuski.
Ramuski traveling east northeast at 74 km an hour. If it maintains that speed and direction to reach I don't know why it says it'll reach for Muski. We got to get rid of that. It will reach Mono by 627.
That place by 638 and that place by 642.
We're showing I'm going to get rid of that. I don't need that in there. Let me just go Why the wind got so strong there?
Um, let's get rid of this there and let's go to wind gusts. Um, we detected severe wind gust of approximately 90 km on radar with this storm located. Yeah, with this storm.
So, please be safe in its path.
A good way to end it there. Okay. And that's 606. I just automatically calculates the time and the date and everything for me. Love it. Um, and I'm going to change this to strong or damaging wind potential.
Damaging.
Hold on. Damaging wind gust potential.
Uh, yeah. Say risk. Damaging wind gust risk. I think so. That looks good to me.
Let's get rid of that. Oh no, it deleted my line when I did that. N.
I see.
Okay, that looks good to me. Uh, 46 people in that push and then twoour expiry. Get rid of the test page.
All looks good. And there's four 46 people to push it to. Okay, cool. It's going to post it to the Quebec page.
Looks good to me. Okay, I'm sending that to 47 people right about now. Bam. Okay.
And wait, what color was it? Oh, it's automatically blue.
Oh, well, just get rid of that polygon. See what that's at now.
Yeah, it just didn't look looked like there's some pretty strong wind gust on the front edge of it there. Right.
And yeah, severe winds up to 12% now.
Makes sense cuz it's actually pretty strong. Pretty strong little storm.
Okay, looks good. Notified that. That should come up actually pretty soon.
Maybe if I hit if I refresh.
Yeah, there it is.
Get a bam. Let's see what way that's going. Yeah, this is going this way.
That will stay in my polygon. All right, perfect. Notified 46 people in Quebec who use our app right there. There we go. Awesome. Cool.
You missed Adam's French lesson. Yeah, it was it was great. And so it's heading over towards >> Amqui >> Amqui and it uh actually right in the path of this particular the strong wind gusts heading up towards uh currently it's located at >> it's tracking north towards >> exactly and eventually towards S Pay.
Okay.
>> Saki.
>> P. Come on. It says pi. All right. Fine.
Anyways, um P.
It spells pie. I want pi. Anyways, okay.
That's it for now. Um there will be many, many more live streams. So, thank you so much for joining us everybody. We will talk to you all very soon.
Everybody stay safe and uh have yourself a wonderful evening. Bye-bye.
