[00:00:35]I've got a question for you. How are you going to feel if every single one of your 75 trillion cells has enough oxygen to get to that pathway? How are you going to feel?

[00:00:49]We're not going to be able to hold you down because you got so much energy.

[00:00:57]And you can see if this cell has enough oxygen to get to that pathway, it's going to deliver 18 times the energy.

[00:01:12]No wonder oxygen's called the most vital element needed for life. The blood is the carrier of oxygen. We are the ones that determine how much oxygen it's carrying.

[00:01:26]by the way we breathe. If you breathe through your mouth, you're breathing in dirty air.

[00:01:33]You breathe through your nose and at the back of the nose there are little tubes.

[00:01:38]And these little tubes are responsible for pressurizing the air making it perfect for the lungs. And what is fascinating about this process is the gases. Remember I said there are three gases that nose breathing balances. One is oxygen. Another is carbon dioxide CO2 and the other one is nitric oxide. Nitric oxide as I just mentioned to you is a vasod diilider. That means it opens those blood vessels.

[00:02:16]So these are the three gases that nose breathing balances. You can have too much carbon dioxide, you can have not enough.

[00:02:27]We need a perfect balance and only nose breathing will do that. You see when we breathe in the little alvi alvoli they're little sacks in our lung where the gaseous exchange takes place and we have 25 trillion red blood cell and on on the red blood cells there's a hemoglobin and the hemoglobin carries the oxygen and there are four docking sites for oxygen but for oxygen to be picked up there has to be four molecules of carbon dioxide Aren't you glad I'm telling this to you in the morning when your mind's fresh?

[00:03:08]So, there's a gaseous exchange.

[00:03:11]There has to be four molecules of carbon dioxide to pick up four molecules of oxygen. And if you're breathing out through your mouth, you lose too much carbon dioxide. Maybe there's only two molecules of carbon dioxide. Do you know what that means? That hemoglobin can only pick up two molecules of oxygen.

[00:03:32]And that's why when you nose breathe, you get more oxygen at the cellular level.

[00:03:39]You might think [cough] that when you go, [gasps and sighs] you're getting more air. You might be, but it can't get out of the blood, the lungs, and into the blood because you're losing too much carbon dioxide because you go [sighs and gasps] too much carbon dioxide. So, there might be only two molecules of carbon dioxide, that's only two molecules of oxygen. But when you breathe in and out through your nose, it balances the blood gases, maintaining adequate carbon dioxide so that you can pick up your oxygen.
