Schreier’s critique masterfully exposes how the relentless acceleration of retail cycles commodifies anticipation, effectively killing the magic it claims to sell. By turning every month into a marketing "event," we have traded genuine seasonal joy for a state of perpetual, hollow consumption.

Nothing is Special Anymore...
Added:It's that time again. Costco already has Halloween decorations. They have this.
>> It's May.
>> Every season finally has a And instead of everything living in crates, I can actually see what I own.
>> Why am I already seeing Halloween decorations in June? It feels like every holiday starts earlier than the last. And [music] honestly, nothing feels special anymore. Just look at what these restock influencers have already been posting.
Let's roll the first clip.
71 days till Halloween.
Decanting donuts.
Okay.
I've never seen half of these snacks before either.
Oh, not the orange paper towels.
Were those scrub daddies?
Did No, these are some knockoff scrub daddies now in of course some sort of limited edition Halloween version. I've seen it all.
The perfect pedicure, I might add.
What are we even doing? What is this for?
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Three cookies. Didn't it come with more than that? Or did we not see that one? No, we're just unwrapping them to leave them and and letting them get stale. Got it.
Okay.
This must be like a compilation all at once.
Who I'm sorry, but who's going to be drinking plastic uh spiders in their ice cubes with sparkles? I'm okay.
like I I'll pass.
It's like no longer going to be fizzy.
It really is a shame that holidays have just become like an excuse for stores and companies to overcharge on limited edition junk. I know I'm late to this trend. I know it's July that I'm putting this video out, but I've just I've been so busy and I haven't had a chance yet to release my Restock Insanity episodes.
I'm sure a lot of you guys are missing that. I really wanted to get this video out in June, but you know, life gets in the way sometimes here, but better late than sorry. Do you guys know how expensive those orange paper towels are?
They're like $13 a roll or some ridiculous price like that. Anyways, I wanted to read some of the comments that somebody had left on this restock influencer compilation in June.
Halloween. What is that? Five months away. 6 months away. Oh, that's a new one. They're calling it summerween.
We're now inventing new holidays and more excuses to find ways to spend more money.
Spooky Halloween restock.
I do like her nails. I'll give her that.
Pretty creative.
That's butter. Ew.
Oh, finger cookies.
Uh, June, by the way.
We have a a drink mixer thing for the fridge. [laughter] We're turning fridges into vending machines now. Oh my gosh.
I don't know what pisses me off more, the fact that restock influencers are shilling Halloween crap five months out in June or the fact that stores like Target are already selling Halloween limited edition stuff. Did you not see that was like some sort of Halloween trail mix that they only give out around Halloween supposedly or that's what it's intended for and it's being released five months early. Oh my bad. Here I am thinking these videos were coming out in June. Sorry. They're coming out in May, 6 months before the holiday. We're already promoting this. Why do stores have this stuff? Are these influencers buying this stuff months in advance, the last Halloween to prep for the following years?
>> It's that time again. Costco already has Halloween decorations. They have this groundbreaking skeleton. It has LCD moving eyes and sounds. It's motion sensored and it's super cool. You can use it indoor or outdoor for $259.99.
>> I saw [clears throat] this being advertised last month and that's where I got the idea to make this video. And again, I apologize for not getting this out sooner, as much as I wanted to, but I don't know what's crazier, the fact that Costco is shilling a 7 foot tall uh skeleton for Halloween in June or that people are actually buying this. Where are you putting this? Anyways, some of the comments are saying the same thing, I guess. Where are you supposed to store it after Halloween? Rent the storage. ah your garage shed anywhere you have room and if you don't have room then don't get one. This is hysterical too. This has been the biggest problem is consumerism has been getting worse and worse and it's been getting shoved down our throats to the point now that almost everywhere I go they're popping up self- storage lockers and they're not cheap.
They're like$150, $250, $300 a month depending on uh the size and how long you rent it for, which is essentially like a car payment.
>> This is what 10 years of creating content looks like.
>> This job is such a dream, but it comes with one tiny problem. A whole lot of holiday.
>> One thing that people don't always realize is that brands work months ahead. So, I might be filming Halloween in July or Christmas months before I've even decorated my own house. We built this house. We knew we wanted a space that I could make creating so much easier. And thankfully, I have a husband who's fully on board. So now, after 8 months of organizing and purging, every season finally has a instead of everything living in crates, I can actually see what I own. And in true girl math fashion, I've already stopped over by I don't think I'll ever stop pinching myself that I get to do this for a living. And for that, I am so thankful for all of you.
I was just questioning where people are storing this. They're converting the entire second floor of their house into essentially a Marshalls or a TJ Maxx. Can we go back to that? This looks like a TJ Maxx that this person has.
Look at this.
This is insane. Not to mention, she had it previously stored in her garage. And this is sick. But this is what I I I see at a lot of places. When I used to live in Florida, I would drive by a lot of the communities and all their cars were parked in their driveway instead of in their garage. And occasionally, I'd see the the garage door open. This is what it looked like.
Limited edition paper towels. Here we go again.
Just because we can.
Yeah, there there's the OG ones. I knew they'd jump on board.
Oh, pause.
I I I can tell Target from a mile away every brand.
We don't need to decant it.
I mean, don't get me wrong, some of these are cool. Like, it is nice occasionally to have a treat or to try a a limited edition flavor every now and then, but to decant everything is a bit ridiculous. And then to pretty much swap out every product or household cleaning product that you have so it matches the holiday is a bit excessive and ridiculous. And I'll tell you right now, it's a great way to drain your wallet and to go into debt or just be broke and continue to be living paycheck to paycheck. To keep up with these neverending trends is exactly what these companies want you to do. Anyways, I wanted to read a comment that somebody had left on my previous holiday restock insanity episode or one of those. If you guys haven't seen that video, highly recommend you check it out. And if you want to get featured in the next episode, definitely make sure to drop your thoughts on this down below. People like this are the ones who complain about grocery prices and buy the absolute dumbest, most expensive, unnecessary crap. I've spoken to people like this who complain about the cost of living and how everything is so expensive and they can't seem to get ahead and they're like, "I need a raise.
I need my boss to pay me more." And I'm like, that's not actually what you need.
You need to stop spending all your money on crap.
>> [music] >> crazy.
>> I can't believe I'm saying this in June, but Costco already has the Halloween handhooked accent rugs. They are super cute. 22 x 28 in, have a memory foam backing, and are just $17.99.
>> They're just $17.99. That's all. It's not like we're promoting Halloween crap in June. Anywh who, you know what's even crazier than seeing Halloween decor five months before Halloween? The fact that we're about to hit 110,000 subscribers on the channel when it feels like we just hit 100k like last week. And surprisingly, a lot of you guys have also been leaving comments that you thought you were subscribed to the channel when you actually weren't. So, just take a quick peek down below and make sure that you are still subscribed.
And also, if you haven't already, definitely make sure to like today's episode. This lets the YouTube algorithm, as well as me, know that you guys like to see videos like this and that I should keep creating more episodes like this. Why do all these influencers have these huge houses? They rent them for their shoots. It's all fake. I guess except for that previous girl who needs to overspend and buy a much larger house than she probably needs just to convert her entire upstairs into her own TJ Maxx HomeGoods or Marshalls.
Oh, it's not just the kitchen. We do the entire house.
Great.
Of [music] of course of course the makeup and beauty skincare companies have joined in on the insanity.
Why not [music] dude wipes made.
Who is going out of their way to buy pumpkin scented wipes for their ass?
[music] Is she doing it again?
This is the same creator.
Just decorating.
She's just decorating her bathroom again. Got it.
Insane.
Oh, now we know who's sponsoring it.
Dude Wipes. This is They've made an appearance twice now.
Pumpkin scented butt wipes.
Yay, Summerween. Ma'am, it's May. And somebody's correcting her. No, it's summerween. We've created another holiday to continue to promote products we don't need. Got it.
How did that fit?
We're going to question something here because as you can see, it didn't fit there and then all of a sudden it did.
So, did the jar switch or something or did she break it? Because there's no way that worked.
What am I missing?
Waste of space.
[music] You know what the craziest thing is? is I've made, you know, countless Restock Insanity episodes here and it's been an ongoing question um on the channel.
Where do these influencers store all their crap? Because their kitchens and their bathrooms look perfect, like flawless, like you can't touch it. And we've always questioned like how can anybody live like that? It's too crazy.
And they must have some sort of like closet where it's just filled with junk and it's nasty because their kitchens are too perfect. Like where do you store the stuff when the holidays over? You know what I mean? And it just my brain went back to that lady. Like she had it all stored in her garage to the point where you couldn't walk through it and then had to convert the entire second story of her house into her own homegoods just to display this. Like it's an entire facade. The kitchen looks beautiful, but the garage and the rest of the house is a disaster. I don't understand how they even have the kitchen real estate for this. like entire drawers for marshmallows, candy, and individually packaged snacks. Where does the cutlery, spices, or kitchen essentials go? Again, a great question, and the previous video answered it. The rest of the house is practically a disaster. I know it's organized, but it's just kind of crazy to now have all that space lost for storing decorations.
$6,800 Halloween restock.
They spent seven grand on this. Did I miss this?
Why are we making Peeps for Halloween?
I thought that was an Easter thing.
That candle in the back seems dangerous.
In case anybody didn't know that this was Halloween festive uh pasta, we need to label it.
Decanting creamer.
Opening up perishables before you even need them in the name of aesthetic is definitely its own tier of cringe. I agree because it's all going to spoil or go bad way sooner than it would have if you opened it when you needed to use it.
134 days till Halloween.
Uh, did she buy coffee and now also bought ready-made coffee?
Unbelievable.
Unbelievable. Again, let me know your thoughts on this. What pisses you off more? the fact that stores are already promoting Halloween stuff 6 months in advance or the fact that restock influencers are having a field day coming up with their own holidays summerween and promoting it 6 months out. Anyways guys, that's going to be it for today's episode. Definitely make sure to drop your thoughts on this down in the comments section below. Smash that like button if you haven't already.
Turn on post notifications. And if you haven't seen the insanity going on at grocery stores, you might want to check this out right after this. Peace.
