Ayaan Hirsi Ali argues that Islamic law (Sharia) is inherently hostile to women, citing examples such as child marriage (referencing Prophet Muhammad's marriage to Aisha at age six), women requiring male guardians, and women's testimony being worth half of men's. She distinguishes between Islam as a doctrine and Muslims as diverse human beings, rejecting Islamic law while embracing Muslims. The video presents Pew Research data showing overwhelming majorities of Muslims in various countries favor Sharia law as official law, and provides examples of countries implementing Sharia law where women face restrictions like not being allowed to drive and having their testimony valued at half that of men.

Ayaan Hirsi Ali ANNIHILATES Muslim Feminist - It Gets Heated!Added:
The prophet Muhammad took Aisha, his one of his wives after Khadijah died when she was six and had sex with her when she was nine. That is Sharia law. I do not understand how someone as But this is not a debate about Sharia law. But this is not a debate about the Sharia law.
>> Excuses for Sharia law. But this is not a debate about child marriage. Get rid of Sharia law.
>> All right, folks. My team just sent me a video of one of my favorites that I've covered on my channel, Ayan Hers Ali, in a conversation here where she shuts up uh somebody in a debate on Muslims.
There were some criticism of Hindus in this conversation and I thought this would be a really good clip to cover here. So let's get into it.
>> Restore to Islam who are responsible for this misogyny. That is the question we face today. Of course, some of you might ask why we're here to discuss women in Islam. Why not women and religion?
Aren't all religions, Christianity and Hinduism included, tilted against women?
And finally, do you even need the excuse of religion to talk about misogyny? Look closer home at Donald Trump.
What he said about women, according to me, is so much worse, so much worse than the Muslim fundamentalist he seeks to keep out of the United States of America.
>> Yes. And that would naturally take me to my first question. I want to start with >> correction. It was not only the fundamentalist he wanted to keep out. It was Muslims.
>> No, I said so-called Muslim fundamentalists. And that's why my point is that you don't actually need any religion to display your misogyny in the brazen way that he has. And that would take me to Ayan because you have argued that there is something innately in Islam that is not just violent but also leans against women. You have traveled the full journey from declaring yourself an atheist at one point to being willing more recently to engage with the reformists within Islam. But you have stuck to your position that there is a problem in the faith and I would put to you that there are so many misogynists and they belong to so many different religions. Why are you picking only on Islam?
Thank you. Um, any public relations person will tell you never open your remarks with statistics.
And I'm famous for being disobedient.
And so I'm going to do just that.
And I'm going to take from a Pew research and Pew does this research on religion and particularly in the Islamic world year after year. In 2013 they had the following question. They have this question all the time. But here goes.
Do you favor or oppose making Sharia law or Islamic law the official law of the land in our country?
72% of Indonesians, 99% of Afghanis, 82% of Bangladeshies, 84% of Pakistanis, 74% of Egyptians, and on and on and on it goes. These overwhelming majorities of Muslims who favor Islamic law. My position is and has always been, let's make a distinction between Islam as a doctrine and Muslims as fellow human beings who are incredibly diverse. I embrace Muslims, but I reject Islamic law. I reject Islamic law because it's totalitarian.
I reject Islamic law because it's bigoted and specially bigoted against women.
Where Islamic law becomes the law of the land. If these attitudes are translated into law, women will need a male guardian. Child marriage is reintroduced.
You'll be disinherited. If you are raped, it's your fault and you get stoned to death. And we see numerous examples of that today. I reject Islamic law because it's inherently hostile to women. It is so bigoted. And everything we talk about in this conference regarding Islamic women, we condemn all of these practices. But we will not defeat, we will not eradicate these practices unless we talk about the principle. And the principle is enshrined in Islamic law unreformed. Aren't the orthodoxies Aren't the orthodoxies of all religions inherently misogynistic? I come from a country that has among the largest Muslim populations in the world. Muslim women in India are fighting for the right to enter mosques the same way as men. But guess what? So are Hindu women.
Menstruating women of a certain age are not allowed into temples. close her home here in the United States of America.
It's certainly Christianity that informs the debate on abortion. To me, coming from a so-called third world country, I find it shocking that America debates abortion. We have 30 minutes to talk about women in Islam. I think absolutely everything you said is right. Misogyny exists in every religion, in every culture, and in every geographical territory. But can we please for just these 30 minutes focus on the topic?
Let Because number one, I'm amazed at the betrayal of Muslim women who for whatever reason have had an education and are able to emancipate themselves from Islamic law, insisting that Islamic law is not what it is and that we don't understand it. We live in an we live in the information age.
We are literate. Any of us here can pick up the Holy Quran and read the Hadith.
And beyond that, because we live in this age of interconnectedness, we can take a look at the facts of where Islamic law is implemented, what it looks like for everyone, and typically what it looks like for women. So Saudi Arabia is a country that implements Sharia law. Women are not allowed to drive. They have male guardians. Their testimony is worth half of that of men.
They are subjected to every possible humiliation that you can think of.
Ayatahi in 1979 with a great deal of public approval became the supreme leader. He implemented Sharia law, Islamic law. You know, one of the first things that he did, he reduced the the age of marriage to nine.
Everywhere where Islamic law is implemented, you have exactly that. How do they justify it? They'll say, they've said this to me, organizations, who's they >> those who are pushing for Sharia law and those who want that's not a matter of debate. The prophet Muhammad, the prophet Muhammad took Aisha, his one of his wives after Khadijah died when she was six and had sex with her when she was nine. That is Sharia law. I do not understand how someone as >> But this is not a debate about Sharia law. But this is not a debate about the Sharia law.
>> Excuses for Sharia law. But this is not a debate about child marriage. Get rid of Sharia law.
>> So you know what? You know what? I although it embarrasses me on a global stage to say this, child marriage is is is common in many cultures including in Hindu societies in India.
So child marriage is just common in many cultures and stuff. Okay, if that's true, put away your faith in religion and the belief system that you have. Is that okay?
Like together, please can we do this just for a minute, 60 seconds?
Does that seem okay?
Does that seem right? Does that seem like something we would want to do as people to encourage, to pursue, to live out?
Forget Islam. Forget Christianity.
Forget Judaism. Is that okay?
Is it okay to go kill people? Is it okay to steal?
Is it okay to be corrupt?
Is crime okay?
Is murder okay? Is rape okay? Oh, rape's common in many cultures. Is does that make does it mean it's okay?
Popularity doesn't have anything to do with truth.
Just because something may be popular or something may make you feel good or something that is historically popular, just because it is doesn't mean that it's historically popular means that it is true.
There's a lot of things today, most things that are not true. The government usually has a lot to do and those in power with making you think things are true, but they're not. The food that you're likely eating and the water that you're likely drinking probably not fully [ __ ] true for you. Meaning the food is being poisoned. The water has [ __ ] chemicals inside of it to keep you in a low consciousness energy so that people in power can control people of populations. That is the world we live in. We have to undo that.
So just to say, oh well, you know, Islam teaches that child marriage is okay.
Well, also it's other culture. It doesn't mean in any culture it's okay.
It means that as a human race it's not okay. And the fact that we can't come to that conclusion together on just that conversation means that every other conversation we're going to have a [ __ ] difficult time coming to arriving at conclusions together.
That's the problem. Has nothing to do Yeah. Sure. Islam pushes a narrative that unfortunately now today we have ch the amount of child abuse in women who have talked about abuse underneath behind the curtain in in Islamic law is very dangerous but it doesn't mean it's right in any situation any conversation it does not mean it's right in what [ __ ] world is it right to go ask any human being of any race culture ethnicity if a grown man can have [ __ ] marriage with a girl at 6:00 and then intercourse with her at 9:00.
Where is that? Okay. Nowhere. Nowhere.
Why? We know that to be a truth.
It's just a truth.
Can a 4-year-old operate a motor vehicle? Why not? Why is it okay for them to? No. Do I have to explain to you why? I don't think I don't think I do. I think you get it. Okay.
Should a nine-year-old girl be having sexual intercourse with a grown man? No.
Do I have to explain to you why? I don't think so. Apparently, maybe.
That's That's where we are with with this. That's where we are. It's unreal.
