I Watched The Backrooms Movie So You Don't Have Too

[00:00:00]The Backrooms movie was actually pretty good. I know there's a lot of flak on the internet right now about the Backrooms movie and the perception that everyone has about the movie on if it was good, if it wasn't, if it was too much, if it doesn't fill the role of a horror movie correctly. But, me personally, I went there, I watched the movie with an open mind, I seen all the reviews before I even went to see the movie, but I didn't let the reviews stray my opinion. I just watched the movie like I did with any other movie, and I came up with some pretty decent opinions, you know, so let me break let me break it down. I'm going to be spoiling the movie just to get that out of the way ahead of time for anyone who doesn't want to hear a spoiler. I'm sorry. If you're going to keep watching, that's your fault. Click off.

[00:00:47]>> [laughter] >> Um yeah, so let's get into it. So, we have Clark, the super crazy guy who is our main character of the story. He works at a furniture store. He is also a failed architect, but don't tell him that or he will absolutely flip and lose his mind. But, Clark has a therapist whose name is Mary. He sees Mary, and Clark basically goes through the situation he had with his ex-girlfriend, etc., and they decide to act it out, which might have been the worst idea for Mary because she learns that Clark is an absolute deranged psychopath. And he lets out all of his frustration. He probably actually thought that Mary was Barbara, his ex-girlfriend. But, Clark is yeah, he's a psychopath. So, they go through that, and Clark goes on about his day. Mary, you know, that's another client for her, and Clark goes back to the furniture store.

[00:01:53]Then, that's where we meet the two characters. I don't remember either of their names. No, I lied. Bobby and I don't remember the girl's name. But we got Bobby and the girl. And these two characters, probably the worst day of their lives. Not probably, it was the worst day of their lives. They take a filming gig with Mr. Clark. And or Carter, whatever the heck his name is.

[00:02:18]Clark, Carter, I don't know what his name is, honestly.

[00:02:21]>> [laughter] >> What is his name? Is it Carter? I think it's Carter. No, it's Clark. Yeah. So Clark, he he's having them film for him, an ad. A terrible ad, by the way.

[00:02:33]About his furniture, the lowest prices, da da da da da, they're going to put it on TV, etc. So fast forward, Clark lives in said furniture store because of his breakup with Barbara. Barbara took the house that he pays for, he made that very clear to Mary.

[00:02:51]And when he moved out and moved in to this furniture store, he obviously is going to experience some weird things like, you know, lighting issues, power outages. But what he did not expect to see was this weird panel of light flicker switches on the on the fuse box, whatever you want to call it.

[00:03:16]I know I'm terrible at this right now.

[00:03:18]But he sees these weird little switches on the fuse box and they don't do anything until he's actually alone.

[00:03:28]When he's alone, he goes and tries them out and the power turns off.

[00:03:34]But nothing else turns on on the fuse box.

[00:03:38]He tries to turn it on again, nothing works.

[00:03:41]So now he tries to walk away to see what's up and he sees a light at this door which leads him to the backrooms. Uh-huh, we've made it, the backrooms. Obviously, a normal person would put their hand in a wall or fall through a wall and be like, "Okay, let's go back if possible and never do this again and never walk into this building again." But what did Clark do?

[00:04:08]He walked into that room, checked everything out, walked out, and he decided the first thing I'm going to do, tell Mary, my therapist, obviously.

[00:04:20]Yeah, you got to tell the therapist. He tells the therapist, she obviously doesn't believe him, and that leads to one thing to another. He walks out and disappears.

[00:04:31]He goes back to the backrooms, obviously. But before he does that, he brings back Bobby and the girl. And he asked them to film this whole thing.

[00:04:42]And they do. Why? Because they're psychopaths, I guess. Because who just willingly takes this guy's offer?

[00:04:50]Obviously, he said extra money, da da da da da. Okay. So, when Mr. Clark takes Bobby and the girl into the backrooms, they obviously don't believe him until he walks right through.

[00:05:03]And then, now they have to believe him because the man just disappeared through a wall. They go through. Now they're disappeared into the backrooms with Mr. Clark.

[00:05:13]Obviously, they know how to get back, but the goal isn't to get back right now. The goal is to explore the backrooms, which is pretty crazy. And they explore the backrooms, which was a journey, and Miss Mary realizes, "Hey, Clark has not been in my office for a while after he just told me, 'I'm going to come back with some evidence.'" So, she decides, "I'm going to go to the furniture store and see where Clark is."

[00:05:44]And does she find Clark?

[00:05:46]Yeah, she finds him.

[00:05:49]>> [laughter] >> She walks into this unlocked but closed furniture store.

[00:05:55]She's led to the downstairs, obviously, because the lights are flickering on some Stranger Things stuff.

[00:06:02]And when she goes downstairs, she sees everything that this psychopath Clark has been drawing and etc. etc. about the backrooms. And she sees the tape outlining where the backrooms is.

[00:06:16]Then, she sees a fly fly in.

[00:06:19]And now she's convinced. So, she goes right in like a normal person would, right? Just walk right in, not run out the building and scream and cry for help.

[00:06:28]So, she goes in and while she's searching for Mr. Clark.

[00:06:34]Well, even let's let's back up a little bit. This is happening while this is all happening.

[00:06:40]Bobby, the girl, and Clark find this weird laundry chute of a room, which obviously insinuates all this laundry is all the people who were killed in this room.

[00:06:55]And then, Bobby gets killed. The girl gets killed. And then, what I assume, Clark gets killed because Clark is being called by the girl in this pool room.

[00:07:09]Oh, and then she says, "He's right behind you." He turns around.

[00:07:13]And then that's where we get to the scene of Mary.

[00:07:16]Now, Mary's inside and she finds Clark.

[00:07:19]Huh.

[00:07:20]Who we just seen get attacked.

[00:07:22]But we didn't truly get seen get attacked.

[00:07:26]And yeah, Clark is a psychopath now, like full deranged psychopath. He's explaining things to Mary. Oh, this is the place, da da da da da. It's so beautiful, etc. And he chokes her out.

[00:07:44]>> [laughter] >> But another another flashback, there was a scene while they were exploring and Clark was alone after the girl and Bobby was killed, where there was a Christmas tree and I got what the absolute heck was going on in this Christmas tree scene. That was like the craziest scene I've probably seen in a horror movie in a while. Like this was Midsommar levels of weird in a horror movie. But it was great. It was great. I can't lie. It was pretty good.

[00:08:14]So, Mary after being choked out is now tied up in the chair.

[00:08:19]And she sees this guy in a wheelchair, this guy with a million eyes, a million mouths and this girl who yeah.

[00:08:30]I [laughter] don't know what to describe this woman as.

[00:08:33]And you know, it gets it gets worse. Obviously, Clark is now fully deranged. He's acting out the same situation with his ex-girlfriend all over again with Mary.

[00:08:46]Why? Because now he feels ready. He feels like he's comfortable in his home and Mary does not play the act anymore because Mary thinks that this man is losing it, which he obviously is.

[00:08:59]She tells him he's a psycho.

[00:09:01]He but she also tells him it's okay to be a psycho and he's okay with that. And then we're introduced by whatever the heck this is. Obviously, it's pirate Clark. But what the heck is this? This is the weirdest model of a I don't even know what to call this.

[00:09:21]This is the weirdest thing I've ever seen in a horror movie probably in the longest time. And this man takes Clark eats him allegedly because I don't I think Clark was dead to begin with.

[00:09:36]Then he attacks Mary, but Mary runs away for a very long time. She gets away and yeah.

[00:09:47]>> [laughter] >> That's all I'll spoil of the movie. It's basically the whole movie and I thought it was really good. I thought it was very confusing with just what the heck is going on, but that was insane.

[00:10:03]Kane Parsons, 20 years old director, like come on, 10 out of 10. That was great work from him. I don't even know what to say, like you have to commend work like that. That was truly a masterpiece from Kane Parsons.

[00:10:17]And horror movies just aren't going to be like that. They're all just kind of the same thing except for like your weapons. So, I commend the effort that was put into Backrooms. I thought it was a fantastic movie.

[00:10:30]I don't think it was like perfect, obviously, because, you know, it wasn't like super scary, but the psychological horror, 10 out of 10. The movie itself, I'll give it a 7 and 1/2, maybe 8. I thought it was good though. You should probably check it out. Give it your own opinion. Don't listen to the Twitter opinions, you losers. And yeah. See you.
