Strong winds, rain, and a cold snap ahead for the Prairies | #forecast

[00:00:00]This low pressure system bringing with it ample amounts of moisture will bring rainfall, the risk of thunderstorms, but more importantly, widespread strong wind gusts across the Yellowhead Highway, Trans-Canada Highway heading into Thursday. Gusts ranging upwards of 90 km an hour can bring power outages, but also risk any of those transport trucks being toppled over. Now, the thunderstorm risk remains non-severe for the most part through Wednesday evening, possibly seeing some severe storms with hail as well as strong winds right along the Alberta and Saskatchewan border.

[00:00:34]But, mainly looking at widespread heavy showers heading into Thursday for Saskatchewan as well as southern Alberta. And on the back end of this low pressure system, colder air infiltrating into Friday will bring widespread snow.

[00:00:47]Now, the cold front will also be dropping those temperatures quite dramatically into the weekend, well below seasonal widespread across the prairie provinces.
