Weather forecasting involves analyzing temperature patterns, wind conditions, and precipitation probabilities to predict future weather conditions. In this forecast, temperatures are expected to remain above average with highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s, while precipitation chances range from 20-40% with expected rainfall totals of 0.5-2 inches through the weekend. The forecast demonstrates how meteorologists use multiple data points including overnight lows, daytime highs, wind speed and direction, and sea breeze patterns to provide comprehensive weather predictions for specific regions.

Temperatures to stay above average heading into the weekendAdded:
4D, the weather authority's secret weapon against severe storms. Some most cutting-edge weather technology in Northeast Florida and South Georgia.
>> [music] >> I love this hot weather. Really? Oh, yes. I'm from Michigan.
>> [laughter] >> If you give me heat and sunshine, pull out the grill, baby. It's a good day. Yeah. I think >> [laughter] >> my mom's the same. She's like, "Oh, it's over 80. I like it." You know, I say, "Mom, it's 95." "Oh, I like it even more." You know.
>> Yes. You know, meanwhile, I'm just like, you know, I love I think that there's that comfortable where you can have enough clothes on to be warm.
There's that opposite when it gets so hot. I mean, >> Yes. Not enough you can take off.
[laughter] Once you get to your bathing suit, you know, you're like, "Well, all right. Now I'm just going to stand here and sweat."
>> [laughter] >> Let's go ahead. Where's the pool? I need a creek. Pool or a pond. The pond will be good for you. Heading outside, the South Bank's looking pretty quiet here for tonight under those clear skies. And the temperatures continue to settle, although a little slow here, much like what we saw last night where it's 77° right now and expected to drop down by Well, get down into the upper 60s as we get ready to start our Thursday. East and southeast wind continues at 8 mph.
Some of the lighter and calm conditions already here for Waycross as winds become lighter and calm here in those inland areas. That's where we could see some of that patchy fog, much like what we saw this morning. But, the beaches will continue a light breeze that onshore flow throughout the night. Make for a nice way to get out there and start that morning walk as you'll have that little bit of a a breeze coming through. Temperatures continue, even Homerville now joining us. I think it was the last one that was in the 80s there. Everybody's in the 70s and our cool pocket down there around Green Cove Springs at 73°. The Euro and I'm going to stick with this one. I think it's done the best over the last several of our light rain events and that's essentially what it shows here as we get through Friday. That's our 30% chance.
And then even into Saturday, I know the colors start to to a little bit more vibrant here in green, but that would be Friday into Saturday by 10:00 and seeing 2/3 to maybe about almost an inch of rain here. Same thing goes into Southeast Georgia. Meanwhile, because of the onshore flow, a lot of the beaches will get missed. So, scant amounts expected here immediately along the sandy shores beginning to pick up along I-95 and continue inland. Sunday, same idea, that 40% chance, but then we get into and even though daily chances remain between about 20 to 40%, it's where the sea breezes will start to meet coming together and this is where that push and shove sometimes leads to a stop and we get the rain that could just sit in one spot and rain for an hour or so leaving us with totals as we get all the way through next Wednesday with about an inch, inch and a half, 2 inches. Other areas here in the Northeast Florida still looking hopeful around a half inch up to what could be an inch of rainfall here as we move from the beaches inland.
Those temperatures overnight still need a ways to go to get us down into the upper 60s. That's where we started this morning. We'll do it again for tomorrow.
The difference will be those daytime highs under those mostly sunny skies taking us into the upper 80s and lower 90s. 80s beachside up to that 95 corridor and that's the breakpoint for what will be more widespread 90s. We were talking about the heat and bathing suits, so why not? The pools are open.
90° out there. Temperatures will spike at around 3:00 to 4:00 and then slowly start to settle after the clouds will move through. We'll see that little brief build-up under the partly cloudy skies with the sea breeze front. And the boys of summer back at home here, the jumbo shrimp Thursday, a thirsty Thursday. Finally, Friday looking like a good game and the weekend home stand continues along with what will be those partly cloudy skies, that slight chance for some showers. 68° overnight tonight as skies continue to clear, the wind settles, and we'll wake up some patchy fog. And from the 60s, we start that run for what could be day by day highs in the 90s adding to what we've already seen so far for 2026. At least through next Tuesday with those chances. A frontal boundary coming through will cool us off a little bit under the east and southeasterly winds around midweek next week. Thanks, Richard.
