Relative humidity measures how much moisture is in the air relative to how much it could hold at current temperatures (like an empty glass being filled), while dew point is an absolute measure indicating the temperature at which condensation would occur; as temperatures rise, both values increase, signaling more humid conditions and potential precipitation.

Northeast Ohio weather forecast: More nice weather ahead
Added:We also need some nice weather vets. And you are delivering like nobody's business.
>> What I'm here to do deliver.
>> I Yeah, I know. Oh, you deliver. Not coffee. Weather. Okay. Delivering the weather. Okay.
>> It's looking beautiful out there. We have a great night that is on tap. If you are getting some deliveries yourself. Uh temperatures are going to fade back into the mid60s. We have cool morning tomorrow. We may even have some 40s early before the sun comes up and begins heating things up quickly. Uh a little bit to get to here. We do have some clouds that are around. This is called a fall streak right here. So, this is actually a precipitating cloud.
I just noticed that. So, it's snowing, but that snow is evaporating, sublimating before it actually uh does anything. So, dry air abounds across northern Ohio. It's also comfortably cool. We are keeping an eye on some rain chances that are going to come around a little bit later in the week, and that is in advance of what is going to be a nice uh bump in temperatures that will be coming our direction as we get into next week. I typically don't show the current temperatures because I figure you see it there at the bottom of the screen. You have it on your phone and all that stuff, but I'm not showing you this to show you the temperature. I'm showing you the humidity. 66% relative humidity. 59 degree due point. Now, we always talk about how it feels. And we always point to the humidity levels, both due point and humidity to kind of describe how it feels. Dueoint is a different measure of humid of humidity than the relative humidity. So, we know our air temperatures right now are sitting in the mid70s. We have a flow that's coming in off of the lake. And that lake adds a little bit of extra, you know, something something to the air. So, that's why we have a 66% relative humidity. Even though our temperatures are all in the 70s, it's 36% relative humidity in Dover right now. Relative humidity is a ratio. It is how much moisture is in the air relative to how much moisture the air could hold at current conditions. So it's basically our empty glass. How full is our glass.
The dupoint is a different measure. It's called an absolute measure. This is how much moisture is in the air and it's not changing. So basically if we took this parcel of air and we cooled it, at what point would condensation occur? What time or what point would do occur? And that's when the temperatures get down into the 40s. As you can see, things are a little variable across the area, but by and large, the lakes moisture adds a little bit of that humidity along the lake shore and we do dry out a little bit farther to the south. We like to watch the due point in terms of meteorology because it's not as flexible. It's not dependent upon the temperature and you can see our due points, those absolute numbers are going up as we head through next week. That is also when the temperatures are going to be going up. So, it's going to start to feel a whole lot more like summer next week. For tomorrow though, in your National Design Bar hourby hour forecast, oh, so much sunshine, very comfortable temperatures in the upper 70s, still the low due points, still the low relative humidity values. But that will start to change. We're going to get a pull of southern moisture coming in ahead of this storm system. And that storm system is going to push some energy our direction. So, you bring up the humidity, you throw in a little energy, and we're likely to have rain and thunder coming in late Wednesday night into early Thursday morning. So, you can see this is 8 a.m. Thursday with some scattered rain and rumbles around the area that should back off and then roar back as another round of rain and storms later in the day on Thursday.
We'll have to keep an eye on this because if we can get temperatures moving enough and we add that humidity to the uh atmosphere, which that's extra fuel, uh we're probably going to end up with some bumpy thunderstorms coming through. So, we're going to keep a close eye on that. In the meantime, here is your Union Home Mortgage forecast.
Temperatures staying in the upper 70s and there are the rain and thunder chances that come in Thursday. We'll probably have a little rain around on Friday, especially south of greater Cleveland and then some scattered rain chances. looks like it's leaning earlier in the day on Saturday rather than later in the day. Then we start to clear out and that is because the heat arrives.
We're going to take temperatures into the upper 80s and low 90s through most of next week. Russ Christy in your union home mortgage forecast. If we verify those numbers, we could be looking at our first heat wave of the summer.
>> Ah, three consecutive days of 90° temperatures.
>> Nailed it. Look at her. Great job.
>> I follow Betsy Cling all the time because she delivers.
>> [laughter] >> Thank you, Betsy.
