This video analyzes the case of Marilyn Gladu, a former Conservative MP who crossed the floor to join the Liberal cabinet, delivering a speech praising the government's trade diversification record with a visible smile. The hosts critique this as a 'repulsive' betrayal of political principles, contrasting it with historical traitors who felt solemnity about their actions. The segment also examines Alberta pipeline negotiations, where Premier Danielle Smith shifted from 'if' to 'when' regarding a new pipeline deal, but the hosts argue that compromises on the industrial carbon tax and carbon capture timeline would delay rather than resolve the issues, especially during a global energy crisis.

‘Repulsive’: Floor-crosser Marilyn Gladu praises Liberals in HoC追加:
Here's Marilyn Gladu. Like, I mean, this lady has absolutely no shame whatsoever.
Listen to her little speech in the House of Commons here.
>> Speaker, I'm proud to be part of a government that's committed to defending Canadian trade and ensuring our businesses are not overly reliant on any single market by opening doors for exporters [applause] and supporting small businesses. reach customers around the world. We're strengthening our economy and creating more opportunities in my writing of Sarnia lampwinong and across the country. Could the Minister of Women and Gender Equality and Secretary of State for Small Business and Tourism update this House on the historic progress we've made to diversify Canadian trade? [cheering] >> Listen to what they made her read out, right? Because if if on the other side of the aisle, she never would have read that. the minister of uh gender equality and all that stuff that she just read out. She's literally they're just like, "Make her read that. Make her read that."
And she just >> it's just grotesque. I mean, it's >> it makes me feel uncomfortable just to and I don't care about her.
Obviously, nobody cares about her. Like, specifically her as a person. It's It's just like this is a this is like a a concern about our species. Frankly, this is this is a concern about humanity that people can do this can humiliate themselves in this repulsive way and just gravel and beg and turn their backs on what they spent their entire lives saying and smile and be happy and like it like this is just one of those one of those aspects of humanity that just makes you feel shame.
I think it makes you feel sick. Or at least speaking for myself, that's how I feel. Anyway, >> now the only thing that comes to mind for me, at what price have you sold your integrity for? At what price Canadians suffer? How many Canadians suffer?
Because what did you get? Show us. Show us the trinkets. Show us the bobbles, Brutus. Show us what's in the packet.
Show us what's what's there.
It's one thing being a traitor, you know, betraying your betraying your friends, betraying your ideas, betraying your own philosophy. It's one thing doing all of that. It's another thing to do it and do it with a with a big old smile, you know, and you know, with the uh the brown tongue on display as you as you stand up there and cheer for your new masters. That's another thing entirely. And there have been quite a lot of betrayals in history famously by people who felt a great somnity about doing it. They felt really uneasy about it because obviously that's what that's reality. It must be if you think if you do it because you think it's right. I don't I'm not convinced that that's why she's done it. But throughout history, some people have turned turned their backs on their allies and friends and whatever, but they've thought it was the right thing to do and they've been so serious about it and so solemn and they've refused to they're not going to like celebrate.
They're not going to jump up and down and like rub it in. It's like a really it's a really serious moment for them.
Even certain sports players who switch teams and then they score against their old team and they won't celebrate. We've all seen that, haven't we? Cuz the there's an acknowledgement of the this something serious has happened. I mean, for God's sake, this this specimen is just extraordinarily low grade, isn't she? Repulsive.
And this here it is uh you know 14 months later and Daniel Smith's now said it's it's a case of when a deal and a new pipeline is signed with Roto rather than if as she said the Alberta premier says there's an improved level of confidence thanks to a conversation with Mark Carney claiming the duo had been talking through some of the areas that they found were disagreement. Well there's only two areas of disagreement.
Carbon capture and industrial carbon tax. So, like we said, I think weeks ago, likely what they're going to do in this industrial carbon tax is just kick the uh the um for Alberta, kick the whatever the um the stringent regulations down the road. They're just going to lessen it, but they're going to have it so that they can appease part of their party, but they're going to probably kick it down the road. Instead of 2030, it'll go to 2050 or something and um introduce that slowly. It'll be a compromise, but the world doesn't need compromise right now. The world needs like solid decision-m that puts energy first. And I think it'll hurt Daniel Smith if she goes for the compromise and she tries to sell this to Albertans right now. I think it's going to hurt her because I think that's what she's going to try and do is sell compromise.
And u I don't know if anybody's really interested in compromise because right now the world is screaming for cheap, reliable energy for prosperity and for security. and Mark Carney and the Liberals are still pushing industrial carbon tax and still pushing carbon capture. Two things that are holding it back. And then plus, even if they got that out of the way, then they still have all these other these hurdles in the way. And they've done nothing. 14 months. Can you imagine that? 14 months and doing jack in your job in 14 months, but at the same time pontificating about how great you are and how you're going to do things at speed never seen before.
Like and then you got to preface I mean you got to end that with what you know you got to speed never seen before if you were a snail um and you were put in a box and you know what I mean like and you start mumbling because it's just 14 months later April 1st was the deadline. This is what they do. This is the pattern. Watch the pattern. They create a deadline and then they buy themselves some time and then they get a delay and it was only going to be a couple days and then they said, "Oh, it'll be a week and now it's like now it's like it's imminently close.
It's always close, right?" But at the end of the day, 14 months later, you got Julie there to show us how much progress has been done >> that studies show that the industrial carbon price >> how much progress Julie shows. That's right, Julie. There you go. Julie's got it nailed.
>> Roll that javelin again. She's dangerous with that thing. Boom. That's That's so far. So far, Julie, >> but it doesn't matter what he says. It doesn't matter what Mark Carney says >> because he's all he's said so many things. Another one that we've we're at risk of forgetting is he said, "Judge me by the prices in the grocery stores."
All right. Well, see you later then. You failed.
>> You've been weighed and measured. You failed.
>> You've been weighed and measured and you failed. And the media >> they forgot that.
>> That's what I mean. It doesn't matter.
He's he's at, according to some posters, a few polls came out recently. He's >> he's at his peak.
>> Golden >> never been better. There's even a very there's a very um enthusiastic slave in the chat. He's been coming out, you know, dropping some affectionate terms for the great man that like it doesn't seem to matter. It doesn't seem to matter what he does. Doesn't seem to matter what he says.
It's Carney, you know? It's he's our guy. It's almost a religious devotion to the prince.
