Visually Impaired Man Creates Smart Glasses Powered By AI

[00:00:01]A man is using AI to help himself see better and it's a creation he wants to share with all who struggle with sight.

[00:00:10]UK based David Scarlezza says these smart glasses take pictures of what's in front of a person and measure the distance between them. Those glasses are equipped with lots of sensors which can help visually impaired and blind [music] again navigate and live life independently. I'm visually impaired my my self [music] so I have had myopia. I have minus 13 prescription in each eye and I know how it is.

[00:00:35]According to CBS News, this technology is assistive and not meant to completely replace a cane or a seeing eye dog.

[00:00:43][music] And the glasses aren't on the market yet, but one day soon they could make life a lot easier for millions of people.
