Five separate bills in Congress propose direct payments to American families, ranging from $1,020 to $3,000 per person, with the Sanders Make Billionaires Pay Act being the most aggressive at $3,000 per person funded by a 5% billionaire tax. The Supreme Court's February 2026 ruling that tariffs were illegal and that the government collected $175 billion in illegal revenue has strengthened the case for refunds, though none of the bills have been voted on yet. The Hawley and Hendricks bills have the most realistic path forward as they use existing tariff revenue, while the Sanders bill faces the steepest climb due to requiring a new tax.

LAWMAKERS MOVE: Over $1,400 Stimulus CHECK Proposal | What Just CHANGED In Congress
Added:Attention because lawmakers are moving on new stimulus proposal that could put over $1,400 per person into your pocket just gained momentum in Congress. There are now five separate bills fighting to send direct payments to American families and the Supreme Court ruling on tariff changed the math on all of them. Here is what just changed.
>> From the public's perspective, taxpayer's perspective, the administration is fighting harder to keep their money than to return it.
That's why I've introduced the Relief Act to get automatic refunds within 90 days to the people who paid the tariffs.
>> That was Congressman Steven Horsford at a House Ways and Means Committee hearing going directly at the Treasury Secretary over tariff refunds demanding to know where your money is and that clash happened because five separate bills are sitting in Congress right now fighting to put checks in your hands. If you want to know exactly how much your family could get, hit that like button right now and type "Pay us" in the comments.
Yes, type "Pay us" in the comments.
Remember, if you don't do anything, nothing will happen. Stay right here.
The average payment for South Texans are estimated about $1,020 for single filers, roughly $1,530 for head of household, and approximately $2,040 for married couples filing jointly. As you can see, things are moving and here are the five bills now sitting in Congress. Bill number one, Cuellar's American Consumer Tariff Rebate Act.
Single filers get about $1,020, head of household get $1,530, joint filers get $2,040 plus $125 per child. Bill number two, Hendricks Tariff Refund for Working Families Act, $1,200 for joint filers under $180,000 plus $600 per child. Bill number three, Hawley's American Worker Rebate Act, at least $600 per person including kids, $2,400 for a family of four. Bill number four, Sanders Make Billionaires Pay Act, $3,000 per person funded by a 5% billionaire tax. Bill number five, the Tariff Refund Act by Wyden, Kim Marking and 21 co-sponsors requiring full refund with interest in 180 days.
>> Perspective taxpayers perspective, the administration is fighting harder to keep their money than to return it.
That's why I've introduced the Relief Act to give automatic refunds within 90 days to the people who paid the tariffs.
And that once the refunds are made, that the benefit goes to the consumers that ultimately paid the price.
>> Absolutely. Absolutely. There's At the end of the day, it's you and me who paid the higher prices and these big giant corporations who already got the money back from consumers, means from you and me. They're doubling down on this rebate or you can say refund that they're getting from CBP.
>> Relief Act creates an automatic refund process, something that this administration has not been working to accomplish. And this would actually address the economic uncertainty that has been caused by these across-the-board tariffs. Not strategic, not in the best interest of American consumers, and it's time that we give the money back to the people who paid it.
>> And there's no doubt that it's It's for low- and middle-income Americans to receive this money back. Even the people who are well-off should also receive this money because they paid the higher prices. And just imagine that you went to a grocery store, you bought something for $100. It was supposed to be $80, but because of those tariffs, it became $100. So, that giant corporation like Sam's, Costco, or whatever retailer or wholesaler is there, they put $20 as a tariff fee, and you paid it. So, what happens to that $20? It actually went to that giant corporation's pocket. Why?
Because they already got the money back from CBP, or they're about to get the money back from them. But, remember that they already got the money back from consumers, so why CBP is giving the money back to those corporations, not to American people? Well, if you support this refund to go directly to Americans, then write in the comment section, "This is my money." Again, if you want that refund, then write in the comment section, "This is my money." Because remember, if you don't do anything, nothing will happen. Well, when it comes to that video clip, there is that United States Congressman demanding answers about your money from the Treasury Secretary Owen Mouth. Five bills, bipartisan support, and the Supreme Court changed everything. Smash the like button because here is what shifted. On February the 20th, 2026, the Supreme Court ruled 6 to 3 that the tariffs were never legal. The government collected $175 billion in illegal tariff revenue.
A federal court ordered refunds, but the refunds go to importers and corporations, not to you. Yale's Budget Lab estimates these tariffs cost the average American household $2,520.26 alone. Yes, $2,500 in 2026 alone. That two and a half thousand came directly out of your wallet and my wallet at the grocery store, the gas pump, and the car lot.
That is why the fight for direct payments is heating up. Lawmakers like Horsford can now point to the Supreme Court and say, "You paid an illegal tax.
You deserve a refund." The question is whether Congress acts before the midterm elections in November. Type pass one if you think Congress should pass at least one of these five bills. You remember that President Donald J. Trump promised $2,000 checks to Americans. Well, if you would like to see that $2,000 check straight to your mailbox or in your bank account as a direct deposit, then write in the comment section, "I support stimulus check." Again, if you support the $2,000 promise from President Donald J. Trump, and you would like to see that money, then write in the comment section, "I support stimulus check."
Moving on with the details, well, tax revenue would go towards a one-time $3,000 check for every person living in a lower or middle-income household or those earning $150,000 or less. $3,000 per person under the Sanders bill. A family of four earning $150,000, or you can say under $150,000, would receive $12,000.
That is the most aggressive proposal on the table. The funding comes from a 5% annual wealth tax on 938 billionaires holding a combined $8.2 trillion.
Sanders estimate the bill would raise 4.4 trillion over the 10 years. Now, the honest reality, none of these five bills have been voted on. The Sanders bill faces the steepest climb because it requires a new tax. The Hawley and Hendrick bills have the most realistic path because they use existing tariff revenue and have bipartisan framing. But even those have not received a committee vote. At this stage, any potential payment would require new legislation, agreement on funding sources, and passage through Congress. Congress has to pass it. That is the only path.
Promises and press conferences do not send checks. Only a signed law does, and right now no bill has gotten past committee. Here is your move. Go to senate.gov and house.gov. Contact both your senator and your representative.
Tell them you want a vote on direct payment legislation before the summer recess. Every contact gets locked when enough people call legislation move. And remember, a $1,400 stimulus check for seniors means for social security recipients was also proposed by TSCL, the Senior Citizens League. They started a petition.
Thousands of seniors signed on it. And what happened to that? No one even talked about it. And this is the biggest problem in this nation. Well, these lawmakers only talk about stuff, but when it comes to taking some sort of action on it, they never do anything.
And right here, I would like to ask you, if this video helped you, tap that like button and subscribe to the Credit Wow Show.
