[00:04:35]I elected the LCtomy as well, but it didn't work. So prayfully it works for her. You know, uh when that was said on the show, they ran it kind of fast, Teresa. So, if you don't mind and we talking about it, I like for you to come up and explain those procedures that he was talking about because he did do it sort of fast. I know it's TV and they can't go in Gia say, "Hey, Victorious." Hey Leah, how you doing? She said, "Good evening everyone. Happy Thursday to you."

[00:05:44]Victoria say, "Anita made me uneasy when she chose the lumpctomy.

[00:05:50]Maybe she felt the invasive shirt surgery was too long and that something could go wrong."

[00:05:59]That's why I want Teresa to come up and explain it to us. Why did she choose one over the other and what is the difference?

[00:06:10]Patricia said, "Hey, Leah's grandma."

[00:06:14]Victoria said, "I just don't want it to come back for Anita." I don't either, but I like to be more educated because all the procedures that he explained, they went through them so fast. I want to know why she chose one over the other. And that's why I want Teresa to come up and tell us about them.

[00:07:58]You know, um, I wanted to know why she chose that one over the others and what was the difference.

[00:08:06]Victoria said, "I believe one procedure was to remove both breasts." Yes. And the other one was to do radiation treatment.

[00:08:18]Yeah. And it was something else he was saying too.

[00:08:24]The doctor said radiation is not as bad as chemotherapy.

[00:08:32]You know, he went through it kind of fast. I would say ring bell say, "Hey, Rose Leah Grandma, how you doing?"

[00:08:43]Hey, how you doing? Let me finish saying a few hellos and then we'll get started.

[00:08:50]>> Okay. I might have to step away for a minute. I'm waiting on somebody to come to the door. So, but if not, I'll be here until then.

[00:08:57]>> All right. Rose said, "Yes, Aunt Debbie, I would love to hear the explanation." I didn't understand it either.

[00:09:42]Yes. So if you could the procedures that he was speaking of, could you enlighten us Teresa and explain them to us? And and as you explain it, which would you think would be best for women or is it depending on the situation of the woman involved?

[00:10:06]>> Okay. Well, [clears throat] like I explained to you guys before, I had um I I elected the lumping too for myself. Um it was just it that one was a easy was kind of like it can remove it can remove the cancer without removing the breast basically. So that's what they tried to do first. It's kind of like if we can get it then we'll get it and then if we can't then we will remove we u we will go back and do the masectomy co. So it's kind of like a let's try this way first and if it doesn't work then we'll go this way. Now it can come back whether you have a masectomy or not whether you have a lumped or a masectomy it can it can come back and that's why they do all the treatments to try to prevent it from coming back. But so the lumpctomy is um like he said it's about an hour about a two-hour surgery where they go in and try to remove all the cancerous cells and everything. And after they do that they it go they do all the exams again.

[00:11:09]They go back to the radiologist. The radiologist run the test again and look at everything. And in my case it came back. They didn't get it all. So I had another one. They couldn't get it all again. And then the third time um that's when my husband and I decided my well kind of like my husband was more like do you want to keep doing this to yourself going back and forth in surgery when I can just go ahead and have the masectomy and get rid of it. So I try to eliminate having a masectomy by having a lumpctomy. So that's basically what she's doing. She's trying to avoid have she's trying to avoid losing her breast. Now once you do the lumpctomy which is a easier surgery easier on your body and you um recuperate faster once that happens and if if it works then she'll have to go through a type of radiation treatment.

[00:12:07]She won't have to do the chemo again.

[00:12:08]She have to do like a radiation treatment for that. But if it doesn't work then the next op is the masectomy.

[00:12:16]And that's when they go in and remove the breast. And um if she elect to have the plastic surgery like I did the like he said that um masectomy surgery can be a three to four hour surgery. If they include the plastic surgeon in there when they come and do the reconstructive it can be a six-hour surgery. So they kind of like switch doctors in the middle once once they remove the breast that doctor leave and the plastic surgeon come in and they do their work.

[00:12:44]So that same surgery turned into like a six-hour surgery versus a 2-hour surgery before they unpacked me.

[00:12:53]>> Wow.

[00:12:53]>> Hope that made sense.

[00:12:56]>> It did. It's a lot to unpack, but you know, uh, so with the lumpctomy, they go in and try and remove the cancer and with >> Yeah. And it and it depend on the size of the tumor. So [clears throat] if the tumor is too big, then they not even going to offer you the lumpctomy.

[00:13:14]So if the tumor is not that big, hers was shrunk down with the um chemo. So by hers being shrunk down, it gave her the option of having a lumpctomy or the masectomy. She gets to choose that.

[00:13:31]>> Okay. And well, like you said, if the tumor is too big for the lumpctomy, do they go back and do the masectomy?

[00:13:39]>> They don't. Yeah, they don't even if it's too big, they don't even give you an option to have a um lumpctomy.

[00:13:49]>> Yeah. So, it's only going to be the lumpctomy or the masectomy. But the like I said, the lumpctomy was a choice that you get to make if they if the um chemo shrunk it down enough. But if it was too big, they wouldn't have even mentioned the lumpctomy to her.

[00:14:05]>> Wow.

[00:14:09]So hopefully this works.

[00:14:11]>> Hopefully it works for her cuz like I said I did it and I mean I could have did it up to five times the lumpctomy um to attempt to move it but then like my husband was saying every that and I had mine like I said during the time during the heart of the big C word in the heart of that. So every single time I went to the hospital I had to have the full test where they went up in your nose and all that to test you to make sure you wasn't positive or anything. I I was going through that every single time I went to the hospital. So it so during that time, but like in her case, once she go in, if it doesn't work, which she'll know within a week, then um if it doesn't work, she can go have it again. But they will also be advising you too on which way they think would be better. But they won't make your decision. They make they allow you to make your own decision with that uh you and your spouse.

[00:15:05]So you can have you the lumpctomy be up to five times.

[00:15:10]>> Yeah, that's what they opted me up to five times. I could do it.

[00:15:14]>> But if you just want to go one time and remove the breast, then you have the masectomy, right? And do it on >> you have the mctomy and they remove everything.

[00:15:27]>> [clears throat] >> So, it depends on uh how you feel or which one you think would be best for you. And like you say, women have a choice to um to choose which one they want. Mon'nique.

[00:15:43]>> Oh, I'm sorry.

[00:15:45]>> Mo'Nique had a question. She said, "I want to know what ovaries got to do with cancer."

[00:15:51]It's because she well because she's a bracket p u patient she can have it anywhere that because of her being a bracket uh patient it means she can she is a cancer um what is it what word I want to use she can get cancer anywhere because she's a bracket um patient and like um Danny Danny has got the gene so Danny could have uh in her cervix or ovaries. It might not be breast.

[00:16:25]>> Oh, okay. And and could it also be possible that she could have it in her breast as well as her ovaries at the same time?

[00:16:34]>> It could be both. Um let me go answer my door. I'll be right back. I'm sorry.

[00:16:39]>> Okay, that's okay.

[00:16:43]April say, "Hey, Debbie Moss and chat.

[00:16:51]Chitchat said, "Hey, my beautiful sisters. Finishing these last couple of minutes up at work in the bushes. Well, you'll be off soon."

[00:17:20]Well, was that the best surgery that she picked? We'll have to ask. I'll take all questions and we'll ask Teresa, you know. Um, he went through it kind of fast. The doctor did. And that's why I had questions, you know. Uh she said you can have the lame the lumpctomy up to five times and then you can have the masectomy me one time and remove everything.

[00:17:54]So I guess it it depends you know if you just want to remove the tumor or if you just want to remove the breast and maybe people feel like it won't come back if you remove the breast. I guess it's just your preference, you know, and what they tell you as an individual by going to the doctor. What, you know, maybe they can tell you that way or, you know, depending on how big is the uh tumor, you know, and what I guess the doctor was, you know, guide you and saying what's best for you. Are you back, Teresa?

[00:18:35]>> Yeah, I'm back. I'm sorry. I had to I had to order something. I had to sneak and get it before my husband got home.

[00:18:40]Shh, don't tell nobody.

[00:18:41]>> Okay, Rose got a question.

[00:18:45]>> Rose got a question. She asked, "Well, was that the best surgery that she picked?"

[00:18:54]>> I mean, it could be. I mean, cuz I mean, well, here's the thing. I think, like I said, once they tell you you have breast cancer, it hits you like a brick wall. I mean, it's like it put you in shock, in a state of shock anyway. So, you're looking at the easiest way to remedy the problem. So, in my opinion, she's already went through the worst with the chemo.

[00:19:21]That to me was the worst. And um the surgery, of course, that's bad, too, cuz you got to go through the healing process, but the chemo does everything else to your body. Um, if she have to go through the radiation, that's another that's going to take her through some changes, too, but in a different way.

[00:19:41]Um, because that's when you start seeing burns and stuff like that and black spots and stuff like that, but it's not going to make her she shouldn't feel sick as sick as she was with the chemo and things like that. But the um, it's just a choice. A lot of people like you hear some people like if you if the doctor say you have breast cancer they they they're like just take both breasts. Just take them both. If you you got it in one breast, they're like take them both. I don't need them. I don't want them. So that's I mean that that to me is a mental thing that people that's not sitting in that seat say. But once you go through it then it's like a shock to you. So now you're trying to figure out which way is going to be best for you because um once you lose your breast, it's a mental thing too. I mean seeing yourself in a different way with no breast trying to u go through the reconstruction um procedure. Uh if you do that, some people don't do that. Some people just keep it with no breasts.

[00:20:43]They buy the bras um that they buy the um stuffings and stuff to go in it. So it's just a choice. She'll have the opportunity too to have both breasts removed because she's a breaker patient.

[00:20:55]She's carrying a gene. So, she'll be have that option too.

[00:21:00]But right now, if she since she chose the lumpctomy, they're only going to that breast where the cancer is and they're going to work around that whole area there to try to remove the um cancerous cells from there. And then that the radiation will keep it from keep the cancer cells from growing and coming back.

[00:21:20]Okay.

[00:21:20]>> If she had a masectomy, they'll give her the opportunity to remove both breasts because she's a bracket carrier.

[00:21:28]>> And that's what I wonder uh what is the radiation for afterwards?

[00:21:35]>> It's like they like to it burn it same.

[00:21:38]It's kind of like the same as the chemo except the radiation is kind of like it burns that whole area around there to keep the cancer from growing back around there or something is the way they explain it to me in a minimum form cuz they don't they you know they speak everything in medical terms and when they break it down to you easier is like they the radiation is to kill the cells and make sure the cells can't grow back.

[00:22:01]So it's kind of like building a wall around there so that the um cancerous cells can't come back.

[00:22:08]Wow.

[00:22:09]>> But in any event with any of that stuff, remember it's not 100%. None of it is because it can come back. Even when you have the masectomies and have the um both breasts removed, you can still have when we have our um um mamograms. We still have to have a mamogram just like a person with both breasts do. You have to have a same kind of mamogram. They just do it differently.

[00:22:35]And then like with me I had I was supposed to be doing it every six months right after the surgery. They want you to do it every six months for at least like two years >> to make sure that it doesn't come back.

[00:22:52]>> And that's that that's I guess that's keeping up with it, you know. And that's a good thing. That's a good thing, you know, that they're monitoring you to, you know, to see where you at. Is it coming back? has it not you know see what works and see what's best and it's good that women have options you know uh like you say the lame the lumpctomy against the masectomy you know to choose you know depending on how they think or what's best for them you know and that's a good thing and do they give you any um therapy mentally to when you're going through this with cancer. Do they offer women any type of therapy?

[00:23:42]>> They do. Cuz like I said, when I first when they first give gave me my diagnosis, um they they if you if you're married, they ask for the spouse, you and the spouse to come in. They talk to you both at the same time so they can get the information to the two of you at the same time. And they have like a whole um it was like eight doctors I guess in the room. One being a therapist um a counselor a me um like a psychiatrist type then one just being like a regular mental person and then you have a team in my case you had a team of other women that went through the same thing that can can you know give you shoulders to cry on and just give you their um how they healed and the things they went through. But you have every doctor in the room starting with the first doctor you'll see which is the breast doctor. Then you going to have the oncologist, the hematologist, the radiologist. You you talk to every doctor that's going to touch you through that process and they tell you, explain to you what they going to do and you can call them or come to them at any time you need to. And then you have your assigned therapist that's there for you that you can just call if you just want to cry or and they also give it to your spouse too. But again, I mean my husband, he never did use any of I mean he me and a more macho they not going to use it. I don't unless they do it behind your back. But um but they give you they gave us everything we needed from the top to the bottom. So but and I never did have to call either. But even though I was going through an emotion I was an emotional wreck. They called me a lot because like I said, I was also going through it doing the big C-word during that time when even if I wanted to have visitors, I couldn't have visitors cuz now my immune system was completely broken down. So whereas people were coming to visit people with mask on and gloves on, they wouldn't even allow us to do that because your immune system is so um so weak at that time, we could catch anything.

[00:25:42]>> Wow.

[00:25:44]I like to thank thank God thank God you know for bring you here to share this and educate us as women you know you went through a lot especially at that time the sea time you know and you couldn't see loved ones and only way they could talk to you is over the phone you know that's that's that's that's a that's a lot to deal with plus you have cancer pluses around that sea time That's a lot to deal with and um like you say emotions and things. It was good that your husband was there and you had family to support you because it seems like that's necessary and gives you a lot of hope when you have families, you know, right there supporting you.

[00:26:34]>> Oh yeah, that's for sure. Cuz a lot of times they they have more hope than you have. I mean, [clears throat] they if it wasn't for them, you wouldn't have no hope at all cuz I mean, you give up quick. I couldn't see doing none of the stuff I had to do after my surgery by myself. I mean, cuz like I said, like I um told y'all before, you come home, you got all these tubes and everything your body and you don't even see yourself at first because they have this wrap around you real tight wrap around you. So, you don't you don't even see nothing but this white wrap that's wrapped around you real tight. So you don't even you if you can't even tell whether you got a breast or not and um and then you have tubes coming out of you. So my husband had to drain those tubes like every five hours and write down in this book and measure how much um your drainage was and all this stuff and the color of the drainage and all this. ly had to do this every day and then every week I had to go back and then he would take we would take what he wrote down and measures and all that to the doctor and that would determine whether they would take a tube out and then they might take one out and then leave the other one in and we have to do that. So they're not going they won't remove the tubes until you no longer draining on the inside. And um and then that's after you finish that whole process. Remember you got the um the plastic surgeon doctor is in there too now. So once they finish all that now you're dealing with the plastic surgeon doctor which is okay too because they've already done everything they did doing surgery too. out all you the only doctor you're seeing is that doctor because they're the ones who trying to get your breast up to where you want it at. Um they're the ones who measuring the size of it and and doing everything.

[00:28:19]Like I said with mine, my implant exploded. They had to take it out.

[00:28:24]Emergency surgery, they had to take it out real quick. Then they'll schedule another surgery. Even after that, after we did that so many times, three times my body was rejecting foreign objects.

[00:28:35]So until we didn't do it no more and now we're doing it from the um stomach and the back where they take the fat tissue from your stomach and back and they build your breast. They make your breast and it take a long time.

[00:28:48]>> And and do they do that with tubes or do they have to keep going inside to do that?

[00:28:55]>> How does have to keep going? They do it with the tubes too, but they have to keep going inside too. They do that too.

[00:29:02]You have to do the surgery every so often cuz they have to get it's it's kind of like like a clay or a um the way they it's like a mold and they're molding it and making it and building it and every now and then they have to go inside and form it, reform it and stuff like that. But that's quick. That's like a fast procedure and um not even a dangerous procedure other than the fact that you're being put to sleep. That's fast. But um the implants once they put that in, if that work for you, all they doing then is like you say sticking the um the needle in the syringe in and you know um filling it up like every week or they putting a little bit of fluid in it every week to pump it up to where you want it at and get it to where you want it at until they finish. But I never got through that because between the uh the leakage, the drainage, I mean the explosion, the uh infections, my body just wouldn't accept the foreign object.

[00:30:01]>> Wow. You been through a lot, sis. You've been through.

[00:30:05]>> So, so I don't know if Anita's going to accept that. So, because she's doing a lumpctomy now, we don't know if she's going to whether she'll ever what. The only way we'll know if she do the implants or if whether she decide to go for the implant or against it is if she do the masectomy. But right now we know she's doing the lumped.

[00:30:27]Well, well, Leah said, "Hey, Chitchat."

[00:30:30]Victoria says, "Teresa, thank you for enlightening us. I didn't know it could still come back if the breasts were removed. Now I understand Anita's choice and I >> that's why you hear women say they going they in remission because it's gone but it can come back.

[00:30:55]>> Wow.

[00:30:56]>> That's why you hear them say we're they're in remission.

[00:31:01]Bro said hers was small enough. Small enough after they shrked it.

[00:31:10]I guess she's saying Anita said shrunk some. She says hers was small enough after they shrunk it.

[00:31:18]>> Yeah. Yeah. That's the only way they that's the only reason they offered her the lumpctomy that it was it was it had gotten to be small cuz like I said the lumpctomy the the whole purpose of getting rid of the breast cancer is to to get rid of the cancer. So if after she went through all of that chemo and the tumor was still big, they would never have offered her the lumpctomy.

[00:31:39]>> Okay. Victoria said, "Teresa, you have God's favor and are a strong woman."

[00:31:46]Yes, she is. Yes. Yes. Yes.

[00:31:49]>> Oh, thank you. My husband tell me that the same thing all the time, but I'm not I don't think so. [laughter] >> Yes, you are. Monique said, "Good information, Teresa." Thank you, >> Mama P said, "Thank you for educating us, Teresa. I'm telling you, this is this is good information, and I thank you. I thank you for educating us and teaching us." So, if we ever have to go to the doctor for that, we'll know something already. You know what I'm saying? Cuz some of this people don't know. and I just appreciate you for sharing and teaching and caring enough to let us know what was really going on with it.

[00:32:41]Rose says, "I had to rewind with my TV back and still didn't understand and Debbie." Well, did you understand how Teresa explained it to you, Rose?

[00:32:57]Let us know if you if you understand because Teresa has explained it and I'm pretty sure she'll go back over it to make sure we understand what she's saying. So let me know Rose because right here Teresa is teaching us and we want every woman to understand.

[00:34:32]>> Rose said secret safe with us. She's laughing. Okay, Rose chith say who are we speaking of guys that was di diagnosed prayers going up well Anita on beyond the gates she's going through cancer and today she's finished her um chemotherapy so she saw a doctor and he gave her some options a lump lumpctomy or masectomy and he explained it but he didn't go into ind depth and we as women we wanted to know what do they mean you know why did he offer one over the other and Teresa was explaining that to us because she is a breast cancer survivor I hope I explained that well to you tit chat >> sound good to me. [laughter] >> Ro said, "Thank you, Teresa. I'm sorry you went through that, sis. Prayers up for you."

Um again like I said once you do the masectomy they they [clears throat] do more extensive um testing all the way up until you have the masectomy and um and because they think the cancerous cells can spread from your breast cuz it depends on where the cancer cells is at in your breast cuz again the way our breast is made. Yours could be on the lower part of the breast. It could be on the side. It could be on the right side or left side. It could be on the top or in the middle of your breast. But so they just in our cases remove the lymph nodes anyway because that's the first place the counselor tried to go and hide from what they explained to me. So they remove the lymph nodes with that. Now that with that being said, you have a lot of arm problem after that because it's kind of like hard to lift stuff with your right with my right arm and raising it up. Sometime it would be sore but they send you to through um physical therapy for that as well to get that to you stronger cuz now you don't have nothing there.

[00:37:17]Fame said radiation stops the potential for spread of localized cancer cells can be mediated and often breast cancer can be the secondary cancer. Co-current cancer is often the case.

[00:37:39]Well, like I said, the radiation supposed to stop it from spread from going anywhere. Like once she had the lumpctomy, the radiation, the reason why they would do the radiation to make sure that there if there's any leaks or little cancerous cells, anything out there floating around, it blocks it and keep it from being able to spread around and move around anywhere. It does localize the cells where it's at, but it kind of burns them there. So, it's kind of kill them. That's basically what it say. Um, I'm going unal alive them there. Sorry. And um, so that's what it does with that.

[00:38:12]And now with Anita again, like I said, when she because she's a bracket gene carrier, her her cancer can be anywhere or it can go anywhere. That that wasn't even discussed with me because I'm not a bracket gene carrier.

[00:38:57]More than likely, cuz like I said, that's the first thing that come to most women's mind. Sometime when you're not in that position, we it's easy for us to say just take them. Just take the breast. But when you hit with the option, then it's like, okay, well, I got a choice. I can keep it or I can get rid of it this way. So, if you more than likely when they have that choice, then they're going to go with the lateral.

[00:39:21]They going to go with keeping the breast.

[00:39:24]But it just doesn't work. And like I said, it's not it's the surgery is not as bad. I mean, it's it's you don't have no big scars and no big old cut and all that stuff for the lumpctomy and all of that. So, it's not bad. The problem is if it doesn't work and then when it doesn't work now you have to go to the masectomy which she which will be discussed with Anita too at that uh once they decide to start that they'll tell her all of that that if it doesn't work the next option will be the masectomy and then there's no choice after that.

[00:40:00]>> Okay. Okay. Rose says I'm saying keep from losing her breast. That's what I'm asking. Uh that she said that is that why she picked a lump lumpctomy so so she wouldn't lose her breast. She doesn't want to lose her breast.

[00:40:17]>> Yep. That's why that's why I chose the lumpctomy.

[00:40:21]thing said, "Please take note that the BBL and implants can be counterindicated for black women who have immunity compromising conditions like silent lupus or sickle cell disease.

[00:40:44]I don't know anything about the BBL.

[00:40:47]I I only know about the implants when it is replacing the woman's woman's breast when she have to lose it because of breast cancer. And I mean some of them get it just because they want their bre like we see on the housewives. They're just getting it all done because they want the boobs to be big Dolly Parton type boobs. But then there's the other when you don't have a choice is when they women lose the breast. And that's a whole mental thing too cuz like I said you you especially when you're um adult woman and then you've been and all you know your whole life is about your shape and your shape consists of your most time your breast and your butt.

[00:41:27]>> So you move your breast now that takes away from you that that your appearance.

[00:41:33]In my case, I was more concerned of what my husband thought or what I was wondering what he saw when he seen me or or did he look at me the same way or did he see me the same way? And in him, he was saying it didn't matter to him. I mean, that that was the last thing on his mind. That was the least worry to him. It's more important for me to be here than the breast. But so, it's a mental uh factor for the women. Well, in some cases like you know remember when Deita was talking to us uh Purple Queen and she told us how her boyfriend left her.

[00:42:07]>> Yeah.

[00:42:07]>> When she lost her hair. So see it just depend you know if you got a good man or your partner or whoever there with you they going to be there for you. But in that case she it was the best thing for her for him to be gone cuz that was just ridiculous. She had no control over that.

[00:42:24]And I imagine that it bothers a woman's self-confidence, you know, uh, going through this, knowing that she could lose her breast.

[00:42:34]But then, yeah, I guess if you have no other choice, you would rather live and you could live without them, you know, if you're if you're uh forced with that choice.

[00:42:45]>> It's definitely [clears throat] a self-confidence. It definitely is it's going to affect your self-confidence, period. Cuz like I said, you going to go from one looking one way to looking another way. I mean every and and like I said, the only one that is bothering is you. Cuz for the rest of the world, they see you as the person who you are. But your mental state is what goes bad because you standing in the mirror looking at yourself. You're you're doing all this to yourself and you know instead of just thanking God for being here, you are thanking God for being here too, but it's still affecting you mentally.

[00:43:20]Uh thing said this is why girl talk is so important. Yes it is.

[00:43:28]Rose said yes I understood very well. I was talking about that doctor. I didn't understand him. I didn't either. Like I said when he they showed it he went through it so fast. Rose that's why I had the questions that you have also.

[00:43:45]Yeah. He went through it, you know, pretty fast and that's why I asked Teresa to come up here and explain it to us.

[00:43:54]>> Yeah. But I understood exactly what he was saying and I guess probably because I had already experienced it. Everything just from that the way it all happened with her from when he came and told me um well I had a female doctor and u came when she came in and told me everything about the um test and everything had came back. They were good enough for me to have my surgery and and I have the option to do it this way or that way.

[00:44:21]And I asked all those questions of why would I do the lumpctomy versus the masectomy and I asked them all of that.

[00:44:28]So they gave me they to they gave me their answers and it was all about the choice of whether I wanted a a more evas invasive surgery at the time and lose my breast or to attempt to um to get rid of it and keep my breast. And again like I said if the tumors was big too big he said they wouldn't even given the option of the lumpctomy. So that that's why you have and that's I think that's the way they did it on the soap so that you would have the question of the two because otherwise you would only know about one of them. You would only know about the masectomy and you wouldn't even hear about the lumpctomy but they did it on the soaps to throw that option out there to give women something to go ask about and talk about and do their homework on.

[00:46:33]You know, she said, "And we must note that younger women are faced with deciding whether or not to preserve their reservoir of valuable ovaries in order to preserve the ability to preserve motherhood.

[00:46:51]But why? Why they faced it? They faced it only because they're going through different things. They they going through they may have fibroids, real bad or reoccurring fibroids." because it's kind of like the same with women with fibroids. Um, who have real big fibroids and they give you the option, they give you so many different options of the way to get rid of the fibroids and sometime some of them come back. Some women have the partial hysterctomies, some have the hyerectomy, some do. So that's kind of the same thing as a lumpctomy and the masectomy. you come, you try to figure out shortcuts, the ways around it to instead of getting rid of your ovaries and your uterus, you want to keep those.

[00:47:30]So, let's do it this way. Let's get the shot or let's do whatever. That's the same thing. But in those cases there when the doctor tell them which are usually women probably a lot of women if they 25 and above and they're having a lot of problems with fibroids and things then that would be the time the doctor talked to them about saving their ovaries and stuff like their eggs and stuff like that but for the most part if they healthy I mean that conversation would never come up and Valerie hey Teresa has said women who undergo chem chemotherapy or radiation face destruction of their eggs.

[00:48:12]Yeah, chemo and radiation can can affect anything cuz chemo is real powerful and radiation is too, but a lot of times it's only affecting older people in certain age groups. It's it's probably a a small percentage of younger women with breast cancer or ovarian cancer. They and don't get me wrong, they have it. It's there. But those women get the information that they need. But it's like with my granddaughters, cuz I didn't have daughters, but with my granddaughters, the um they can start getting their breast um mamograms at the age of 25 versus what the age was before, I think 40 or something. Now they can start at 25 because I had breast cancer. Because I'm the grandmother had breast cancer.

[00:49:01]And um because like in Neato's case with the bracket gene, if she had younger daughters, they could get it now 13, 14, 15 and everything to prevent from the having the ovarian cancer and all of that stuff.

[00:49:18]Then you said younger women are the highest growing sector of breast cancer.

[00:49:25]Oh, maybe they are, but I'm not in the medical field and nor do I do all the um go around doing trying to do the um surveys and and figuring all that out.

[00:49:35][laughter] I know I I wouldn't be able to answer that. So, >> young or old, you know, we we need to take care of our bodies and know what's going on, you know.

[00:49:47]>> Yeah. And if we start when we older taking care of it, then the younger more than likely would take care of theirs.

[00:49:52]But a lot of the older ones don't take care of their bodies.

[00:49:55]>> That's true. And everybody need, you know, I know they say you have to be a certain age or, you know, when I started getting them, you had to be a certain age to get mamograms. You know, um maybe they should include that in women's health. Now whether you're young uh 30, 40 or 50, you know, maybe that should I I think this is just my opinion. Maybe they need to include that like in women's physicals, you know, just like you go to the gynecologist, then maybe you should see, you know, have a mamogram, you know, and that be part of a young woman's or woman period their uh physical.

[00:50:35]>> Yes. And also like I told y'all remember I didn't have like they the way they teach you how to do the testing for the lumps and everything for on your breast.

[00:50:43]I didn't have any of that. My mine came strictly from the mamogram.

[00:50:49]>> That's where they saw mine at.

[00:50:52]>> They said so do so. So some have to deal with these issues daily. This conversation is so helpful. Yes. Yes.

[00:51:02]And it's enlightening.

[00:51:04]Yes, it is. Dame said genetic counseling is critical in so many cases and I I I don't know if they offer that with your physical, you know, or do they offer that to women that's been di diagnosed with breast cancer, you know, I don't know. I haven't been through it. Do they offer genetic counseling, Teresa? They did the genetic studies for me when I had mine.

[00:51:38]But after, like I said, I think that when you had a breaket gene, then that's when it's genetically involved more. So, I did I didn't have the break the gene. So, it wasn't a problem with my gen in the genetics uh for me for them to have to go any further with me with that. But like I said with my sister if I mean you would think that she would be the first one to run to get her mamogram every year but because I went through what I went through and I almost have to and we she live in Louisiana so I almost have to drag her to get hers once a year because I had it she don't want them to tell her that she's got it.

[00:52:17]>> Oh she Yeah. Well, you can understand her being a little scared, you know, because she saw and she she saw what you went through. So, you know, we just have to talk her out of that and make sure that she get it so we can make sure she's healthy, you know, but you can support her and coast her into that, you know, she she'll go along with you.

[00:52:42]Mo'Nique said, >> "I started getting my mamograms at the age of 25. Now I'm 67. Still get mamograms in Philly. It's mandatory.

[00:52:54]Okay. It's mandatory in Philly. In Chicago, I think uh when I started getting mine, you had to be 45. And that's when I started getting my first one. And then they saw a mask or something. And then I had to go back and they said it was nothing. And I have to go every year to get a mamogram.

[00:53:18]Yeah, they it's mandatory here, too.

[00:53:20]They they will run you down. I mean, they chase you all over the place. I'm like, "Oh my god." They send emails through, text messages, calling. I'm like, "Oh." But yeah, but now because I already went through what I went through, I mean, thank God they do run you down. Um cuz even when I got mine, the the one that caused me to have to have all of this surgery, my grandson had broke his leg. He was doing physical therapy and I was sitting in the car waiting on him in the same front of the same building where I go get my mamogram at and I'm like so one day I was like let me go in here and just um make an appointment to get this mamogram done and I did and then once I did it the everything shut down because of the cword and um but they were calling me they were running me down everywhere they were and I was like I thought you said that all the appointments were cancelled only um only emergency appointments and they were like ma'am this is an emergency. You need to get to the hospital as soon we we have an open appointment for you just come in so we can do another mam a more extensive mamogram and from that point on that's where I ended up at said atmonique you are so careful and keep encouraging.

[00:54:37]Hey Da, she said, "Hey, and Debbie, I'm late, but I'm here. Thank you for being here." Um, I just think that, you know, women, it should be part of our physical, you know, that's what I think.

[00:54:54]You know, maybe that will help. I don't know. But I think, you know, if you the faster they catch it, the better off we would be. That's what I want to think. I don't know if that's true or not, but what do you think about that, Teresa?

[00:55:09]>> I totally agree because I mean, even as an adult age, we hate the mamograms. So, if we could avoid it, we avoid it. They definitely put it off until the till we to the last minute. We don't even want to take a physical cuz you don't like to have um the um um Oh my god. Well, I can't think of what what you know when the when they do the um pap smear [laughter] that we don't like we don't like to do any of that stuff you know so they should make it mandatory that we have to have all this stuff done during the as a part of the physical they should said thank God Teresa yes thank Godique said yes Teresa in Philly they will call you text you even send a me a memo to your doctor.

[00:56:01]>> Yeah, that's what they did with me. They sent it to my doc, my primary care doctor. She called me and she was like, "Have you been getting messages from the radiologist and from the people in the mamogram?" And I'm like, "I've been getting them, but they said everything was closed down." So, I mean, was no need of me making no appointment cuz they said they was only um taking emergencies. She was like, "If you don't get your behind to that um up to that mammogram and do that test," and that was it. After that, like I said, within a week, everything start moving real fast. It changes quickly.

[00:56:37]Da say I started about 30 because my mom died at 48. So, sorry, DA. My condolences to you. Yeah. She said, you know, Dame said, please continue to understand that healthc care is a human right.

[00:56:56]Please look at your entire body and take note of all significant changes and take note of your emotional health and mental state.

The um the radiation treats everybody different. It depend on your body and how your body takes it or accept it. The the surgery it affects everybody different and what you may have to have I might not have to have. U it it just affects us all different.

[00:59:11]Some people stand in the shower and feel a lump under their breast. Then some people, like I said, in my case, I never felt a lump. They they seen it on the mamogram. So mine had that probably been there the whole year, but they didn't.

[00:59:24]But because I mean, they seen it on the mamogram, not feeling it. So just don't go exactly by trying to feel a lump or anything like that. But everybody's bodies it affects it affects everybody different.

[00:59:36]in. However, I still haven't heard anybody say the chemo wasn't bad for them. Chemo is chemo is being bad for everybody in my opinion.

Danny sent her packing a couple of episodes ago. Well, she lucky Danny didn't knock her out. You know, she been gone. Probably gone ever since then cuz they just brought her back.

[01:10:20]Same way I I talked up on Mona. I said, "What she did?" Back. Yes. She come back today. I said, "Lord, and you know what?

[01:10:29]Old Joey got something to do with that plasma ring. I I heard him talking today." Ro said, "I bet you Samantha gonna win." And that's what Anastasia and her little stank tail granddaughter scared of. Yeah. I hope she do win.

[01:10:44]>> She going to win. This a soap oper. We know this going to be designed for her to win.

[01:10:48]>> And Da said, "My daughter would have swung first and not think twice." That's me and I ain't gonna be asking no questions. I'm just going to knock [ __ ] [laughter] Hey, you got time for all that.

[01:11:02]Victoria say Joey giving Darnell cuff links after he had his dad off in that stage car accident is diabolical.

[01:11:13]Yeah. Yeah.

[01:11:15]>> You see Joey go off on Vanessa today for sticking her nose in too much stuff too.

[01:11:20]Didn't you?

[01:11:22]>> She need to stay. I told her she do too much. You You can tell when folks doing too much. She do too much. That's why he did that. you know, she need to go sit down. She she do too much. She should be somewhere making sure, you know, talking to her daughter or getting her son ready, make sure he got everything, socks, shoes, all clean for the continue. She over there looking up his sister, man. Told you he don't have nothing to do with her. Leave that alone. She doing what Chelsea did. And you see what that guy Madison cost Chelsea got in folk business. And then you gonna go looking for this lady and bring up some. And then there you go. She she come out the woodwork next. And she gonna be over there doing some stuff.

[01:12:08]And the man already say she she she something else. So you need to let sleeping dogs lie, but Vanessa is always in somebody's business. Mon'nique said yes and Debbie. Joey knows Smitty is reporting on that plasma ring. Yeah, he know. He know everything now cuz he didn't just have Randy watching us. He had somebody else too. And like I said, Smitty uh needed to he should have been somewhere knitting or painting or something whatever. He he now Joey know and and who know Joey involved in it.

[01:12:44]Who knows? Smitty all the all his prior ories done jumped out the whis window.

[01:12:50]You don't know if they'll do something to them kids. You don't know if they'll do something with Martin. And you know, Joey be looking for something on Martin so he can get Martin so he can have, you know, some old Martin's head so he can get him to do whatever he want him to do. And now he done found out about Smitty.

[01:13:09]I told you Smith going to bring everybody and have everybody down there for ransom.

[01:13:16]>> And Ashley, between the two of them, they going to have the whole hospital and everything closed down.

[01:13:20]>> Sure. wheel is him and Ashley and Naomi now and don't say nothing. Don't say nothing.

[01:13:27]>> And here she is. She's God tell you folks talk too much if you ask me. Dame said I have not seen the jail house yet on this soap. Is it coming? Well, they showed the police station when Jacob used to work at the little desk and then the other man myself had a desk and uh Elon, he walked off somewhere. I think he had a office or something, you know, and then they had one police officer walk, you know, look like, you know, they made it look like a police station.

[01:13:58]But have we seen the jail? No. But they going to get one ready cuz they going to need a great big one for everybody that's [laughter] everybody going down there cuz I'm telling you Joey know about Smitty now.

[01:14:14]And and Smitty don't know. Joey know.

[01:14:17]So, this is this is going to come come to pop. We gonna see what Joey do with that information.

[01:14:25]But I got a feeling, you know, J. I'm like, Elon, don't nothing go by in this town. And you don't have a hand in it.

[01:14:35]I believe Joey know something. He got a hand in it. He might not be the higherups, but he know more than he was telling Elon.

[01:14:46]Yeah, cuz he mentioned Smitty. So if he know if he mentioned Smitty, that mean he knows more because um Randy Randy didn't never tell him that Smitty was he only told him that that he found out about what who Smitty was going to see because of the little young cutie at the uh the hotel clerk. He said talking about the little cutie at the hotel.

[01:15:08]Randy was [laughter] Joey was like, "What?"

[01:15:11]>> I'm saying, you know, it's And now Joey know more than Randy.

[01:15:18]>> Yeah. He know more than Randy. Randy tomorrow he messing bad at the hotel.

[01:15:24]Ah, Jo, he gonna come there with that Jo. I already know.

[01:15:29]>> That mean Rashad need to be the mood. He shouldn't even be going back to that hotel. Smittyish. Now, if Smitty want to talk, he should have already called Joey and told told him he need to find another place cuz they followed him to that place.

[01:15:44]Uh, he need to see Smitty don't know that Joey know. But, uh, Jacob needs to Rashad Jacob he need to stop talking to Smitty period for a while if you ask me.

[01:15:57]Mon'nique say, "Aunt Debbie, I was thinking when Joey told Lesie, no more of brainless ideas."

[01:16:05]Well, you know, he he don't like Lesie anyway. He just don't he can't stand Lesie. Leslie get on Joey's nerve. She he ain't f to do nothing. She won't Sonia say Joey has been talking to the hospital director of Leah. Leah could be. But how Leah know about Smitty?

[01:16:26]Lee ain't never saying about Smitty.

[01:16:29]Joey is I'm telling you, Joey got somebody else watching because he know Randy have doing his job and he only got Randy around to find really stuff out about Lynette and he want to find out more about Haley through Randy. And when Joey hadn't have no more need and when he find out everything, you see you watch and see what he do to Randy. But that mean if um if if Joey got somebody following um Smitty, then that mean Smitty that mean he know where Jacob is?

[01:16:59]Cuz Smitty haven't mentioned anything about the plasma ring to um to nobody.

[01:17:03]So where did Joe how Joey know that?

[01:17:06]>> That's what I'm saying.

[01:17:08]>> How do that a part of the um of the plasma ring unless they followed him to where Jacob is? cuz that's the only time they talk about the ring >> and then they you don't know they could have be they could be looking listen to conversations cuz they stay on their phone and like I say they talk too much so um it's it's easy Joey Joy done find out sometime way Sonia say the chief told Joy about Smitty how does the chief know about Smitty >> right how do they know about Smitty >> right I didn't think she I didn't think she knew about him. Dame said every hospital has investigators undercover that work in various departments.

[01:17:54]Well, they wouldn't be investigating Smitty because he doesn't work there.

[01:17:59]>> Here we go.

[01:18:02]>> Mon'nique said, "Y'all don't know nobody like Lesie. Not even Randy."

[01:18:08]She said, "Y'all don't nobody like Lesie. Not even Randy."

[01:18:12]>> We don't even like Lesie. We sure don't like Les Leslie. Leslie is is get on everybody nerves. She get on the cast nerves and ours too. She sure do get on everybody nerves.

[01:18:26]>> And she probably get on the producers's nerves.

[01:18:28]>> Yep. And she can't her own daughter can't stand her. So why you think we all like her? Rose said Jacob told his daddy today about Smitty being his source.

[01:18:40]Could be. Could be.

[01:18:42]>> He did. That was yesterday, right?

[01:18:44]Right, Rose? I think that's >> Yeah, I think he did tell him that yesterday and I think Well, whatever day Elon went to see Joey.

[01:18:56]You think I don't know if Elon said something to Joey, but I do know Jake Jacob did tell Elon that Smitty was his source and Smitty was the one that brought this to him.

[01:19:09]Now, Elon and Joey are friends as well as uh Cole. I don't know what they are, you know. But how did Ran uh Joey find out about Smitty? I don't I don't I didn't even know the uh chief of staff knew anything about that.

[01:19:28]Sonia say the chief's son accidentally told the chief that Smitty was his source.

[01:19:34]Who is the chief's son? Grayson. I think she's talking about Grayson. Yeah.

[01:19:41]Um, did he? I'm g have to go back and look at that because I missed that part.

[01:19:46]Me, too. I'm g have to go back and look at that, too. Excuse me. Rose said it was yesterday's episode. I forgot. I just watched that one today.

[01:19:58]Victoria said, "Tomorrow Marcel is going to question Leah, so Joey will know even more from Marcel."

[01:20:10]Okay. Well, you know, Marcel worked for Joey, too. He worked for the police department and Joey. Sure do.

[01:20:17]>> And seem like Marcel working for Leah.

[01:20:21]>> Yep.

[01:20:23]Yep. He He He He got his hand in all the pots. Sonia say, "Jacob, what about Jacob?" Sonia, Jacob better be careful. That's what I could say to him. Th you said that lady that caught the drugs being taken out of the floor pharmacy might be a person who has the investigative authority. That was um uh Leah Whitmore, the chief of staff. I guess she Yeah, she she got people investigating who went into Nicole's computer in her office. So, yeah, she got investigative reporters, you know, but uh Jacob need to stay away from Smitty. Joey is finding out stuff and putting stuff together and it's not coming from Randy, you know. Uh, I don't know how he getting this information, but if that he know a lot about Schmidy and I want to know how he finding this stuff out.

[01:21:24]I want to know how he finding this out because Joey hit it on the head and he's got to be involved in it to even care.

[01:21:35]Why does it bother him? because he got a hand in it some kind of way and he trying to say he don't but he do and I believe I believe Joey got something to do with this now. I don't know if he at the top of the branch but he in there somewhere.

[01:21:54]He is in there somewhere because he is too worried about everything that's going on about this plasma marine and then he want to know about uh uh Linette and Haley. And then once he find out Haley and Randy our cousins, Randy better look out.

[01:22:16]He better look out cuz George gonna figure figure Oh, you you didn't tell me that. And you've been on this all the time.

[01:22:27]Rand and Randy need he need to watch himself too. He really do. You know he he over there now trying to sweet talk old Mona. Mona go for anything. She just gr Oh, she ain't around no more. What?

[01:22:44]First you hit the man over the head, now you over there talking about some some church and all this other stuff. Come on, Mona. Come on now, Mona. We know what and Mona don't know that the Mona don't know where Randy stand when it come down to um Lesie and all and I mean all in there when it come to Laura, right?

[01:23:04]>> Uh Randy Randy don't know nothing about that, but Joey do.

[01:23:08]>> Joey know everything Leslie did. He got it on a uh one of them little uh uh uh micros uh things and he showed it to her. He know everything she did. That's why she better not get out of her place.

[01:23:22]Rose said, "I think that lady is Joyy's sister. That's why he want Vanessa to leave it alone. He thinking Leah Whitmore." Uh Rose think Leah Whitmore is Joy's sister.

[01:23:35]>> I think so too. Remember I told you that from the beginning. And I think that that's his sister, too, cuz she cuz she made that phone call to him and or he made that phone call and then she answered it and they made it look like to us that he was calling her.

[01:23:52]Mon'nique said, "I think Joey might be might be a private investor."

[01:23:59]He could be. Yeah, he is. He He private investor in uh that clinic. And if he got the clinic, he probably, you know, got that plasma too because they trying to get everybody work out work at that clinic and they running that stuff. Joy is running money and everything through that clinic. That's how he what he had.

[01:24:19]That's why he told me that's he wanted to become become a private investor into that clinic to Laundry Money.

[01:24:28]He sure did. He sure did. That's what he said. He had been told uh him and Vanessa had been set that up. Vanessa knows about it. Now, uh he was saying when it it first came out about the plasmarine, he said nobody don't know who the uh person is. You know, he heard some talk about it, but don't nobody know who the person is, but the person got family work there and they don't play. That's all he said about them people.

[01:25:00]And and now he asking and trying to see what Smitty doing with the uh why she why he know about the plasma ring. If that's the case, he gonna find out that Jacob, Elon's son, is the one undercover working for uh Leah Ren and that uh Grayson know about it. Everybody fa to be in trouble.

[01:25:25]I hope I hope uh you know I got some sense you know and what is Joy's role in it.

[01:25:36]It looked like to me uh Joy uh want to know all the players, you know, he want to maneuver this thing and for what reason if he don't have nothing to do with it, if he's not the impaler, why does it mean so much to him?

[01:25:55]And that's what I want to know. I want to know I want to know if Aaliyah is really Joyy's sister or is that Heather lady, you know, that uh uh Vanessa found out that was buying houses and she left the house and that's her last uh known house or something. Who is that? Because he really got upset with Vanessa when she showed him papers and act like she was trying to find his sister for him.

[01:26:25]And that's why I think it's Leah because she getting too getting too hot by doing that, you know. Uh, I mean, Vanessa is trying, I guess she trying to help in her own way, but Joey got really heated about that, you know, and they say Leah been the community, the brothers that could be.

[01:27:01]She was she like being in the mafia and she's a mafia uh you know she she was really into that you know remember he said that she don't take my stuff so it could be Leah or it could be somebody else you know they said I just want to know who has the refrigerated truck or private jet to move this plasma.

[01:27:28]I guess they also somewhere they they got trucks moving in have Jacob them dropping stuff off and picking it up. I guess they got I don't know things but I I imagine they got all that taken care of but whoever Leah is not the boss.

[01:27:51]She is not the boss, you know. So it's somebody over her.

[01:27:57]It could be Joey. It could be somebody else. I think it's more to this, you know. Uh I want to see I want to see who is all involved in it. But from Joey finding out and he already know Smitty involved that that took some looking out for that. That mean he is really looking into it and he want to know he want to know this that and the other. And it won't be long before he find out that Jacob is undercover.

[01:28:30]It won't be long.

[01:28:32]So, you know, um, e Elon when he was talking to Joey, he shouldn't have never stopped telling Joey nothing.

[01:28:42]He shouldn't have stopped been telling Joy nothing cuz he know Joey is a crook and like he say, he have his hands in a lot of things. Mon'nique say, "Yeah, things." You never see the driver. You No, you don't never see. All you see is that man Ren who be beating him up and uh Grayson giving Jacob a box or whatever it is he be having in his hand.

[01:29:09]Dame said it has to be somebody who has a membership at the country club.

[01:29:19]Well, we >> country club got to do with the pl with that with delivering the plasma, >> right? I I we ain't never seen Leah at the country club. Have you, Teresa? I know I haven't.

[01:29:29]>> No.

[01:29:30]>> And the only place I ever seen her is in the hospital.

[01:29:34]>> Farewell and in the [laughter] going from room to room.

[01:29:38]>> Yeah. I have never seen I have never seen that. So, I guess those are questions that we'll find out sooner than later. And the key person that would be a part will be over the ring would be somebody that would never ever ever come to the hospital or be around there which would which could easily be Joey >> cuz he he stay in the casino so it doesn't look like he would be connected.

[01:30:05]So you you want to be that person that look like you don't have no reason to be connected. And then by Jo telling um Randy that he know about Smitty, that mean that mean to me uh Jo um Randy whenever he's at the truck and making sure the truck is loaded and unloaded and all that stuff. That's what he be doing. What else he over there watching being loaded?

[01:30:30][laughter] He don't seem to know very much. And that's what Joey is saying. I already know you have to tell me anything. Themes said the country club has a network of the big shots. Most big shots look clean.

[01:30:45]Mon'nique said, "No, thanks. We want to know who Jacob take the plasma to."

[01:30:52]He take it and drop it off, you know, and did somebody else get it from what I understand. Now, I could be wrong, but that was my take on it. You know, these are questions that will have to come up and we we got a lot of questions, but we don't have really many answers. So, we just have to watch and see and look for clues, you know. We have to look for clues to see who's doing what. Watch the players.
