[00:00:00]the Nikaya Buddhism. Nikaya Buddhism refers to the early sects of the Buddhism, which is before pre-Mahayana tendencies.

[00:00:07]So, emergence of the Nikaya Buddhism happened in the second Buddhist council when the first schism in the Buddhist Mahasangha happened. Second Buddhist council was held at Vaishali in 383 BC and Buddhism formally got divided into two branches, that is Sthaviravada and Mahasanghika. And in fact, from 383 to 250 BC, 18 branches emerged in the Nikaya Buddhism.
