[00:00:24]Speaker Johnson spoke to President Trump this week. They met, they talked about strategy for the upcoming midterm elections.

[00:00:33]Speaker [snorts] Johnson then, days later, went on television to give an interview.

[00:00:39]And they basically asked him about the midterm elections. Now, what you need to know about midterms is that traditionally the party in power loses seats. It's almost inevitable.

[00:00:50]Now, Trump he did something this year that could mitigate that damage significantly, if not stop it and reverse the trend.

[00:01:00]He pushed for redistricting.

[00:01:03]Now, you couple that with the VRA decision by the Supreme Court, and these are massive boosts to Republicans' chances of keeping the House. In fact, the chances of Democrats taking over the House in the poly market and Cal sheet and things like that have plummeted.

[00:01:19]Now, people still think they're going to take the House because history dictates that they will.

[00:01:26]But the math is not mathing anymore, exactly, and it's not just the redistricting. It's not just the VRA. It's the differences between Republicans and Democrats in 2026, which is much different than the differences when I was a kid.

[00:01:41]Like when I was a kid, we were all capitalists. We all believed in America.

[00:01:44]We were all anti-communism.

[00:01:46]That doesn't exist anymore.

[00:01:48]The gap between us and them is about the size of the Grand Canyon at this point.

[00:01:54]And Speaker Johnson pointed that out here in this interview and explained really what's at stake here for the future of our country.

I mean, you we had the primaries, so really business started on on Wednesday, but a lot of colliding interests. Let's start with the primaries. What what are your takeaway from the primary elections?

[00:02:19]Well, the the the headline was right. I mean, from the right and the left, everybody in media noted that the the endorsement of Donald J. Trump is the most powerful and effective one probably in the history of politics worldwide.

[00:02:33]You know, his influence is being seen through the primaries. But what I'm encouraged by is that on our side of the aisle, we we are electing and and moving through the process now credible, capable, common sense conservative people that that love the Constitution, love America, and are there to fight for the founding principles. And and you have on the other side of the aisle exactly the opposite. And we've discussed it on the program before, but there's this dynamic where the farther and farther left candidates are making their way through these primaries, and some of them are prevailing, heading out into runoffs. Really dangerous people with really dangerous ideologies.

[00:03:09]They're Marxists, and and they want to turn America into that. So we have to defeat them. This is a battle of ideologies. We say it often, the the widening chasm between the two parties, it's, you know, in in terms of our philosophy has never been as great as it is, and that's where the stakes are so high. Now,
