Effective political leadership requires transparency and accountability, particularly during crises; leaders should openly acknowledge challenges like paying ransoms or economic hardships rather than concealing them, and prominent public figures have a responsibility to speak out against government failures to hold leaders accountable and drive meaningful change.

TINUBU SHOCKED As SOYINKA Leads SYMBOLIC PROTEST Against HIM Over HARDSHIP In NIG: APC Falls APARTAdded:
All right, ladies and gentlemen, you're welcome to another great episode on your favorite political talk show, The Truth with Ben Jokes. Nigeria stories breaking. Oo state governor Shahim Makinde today announced that his administration was ready to listen to the abductors of school children of last Friday in Ori local government area of the state. Now a number of persons have come down to criticize Shahim Kinde for these comments. He said he's ready to listen to the kidnappers. In other words, he's ready to pay them ransom to get the 45 poops and those other uh teachers kid that were kidnapped released. Now for me, I will not criticize Shimai for this. The federal government itself, the commander-in-chief of armed forces, the one who should be overseeing these things, has not even released any statement 72 hours after that man was beheaded. After that teacher was beheaded, we've not heard a single statement from Asok. Meaning they have they have left all those other persons, the 45 poops and those other teachers to die in the hands of those kidnappers. So what we need to consider is what Mind also said in this same statement. He said he's going to do everything within his power to ensure that security is beefed up in O state within his power as the state governor. He will do everything including tracking down these same kidnappers. But these ones that they have taken now he is willing to pay for them to return them. I think it is better to say it openly instead of lying to the people that you are conducting rescue activity. Meanwhile, you are paying kidnappers. This for me shows a leader that is ready to actually do the right thing. Yes, I will give them this money but henceforth I will do everything within my power to ensure that this does not happen again.
Transparency is key in all that we do.
Meanwhile, this does not mean that we will not make effort to apprehend the kidnappers. But we have to be transparent with our people. Where we have paid ransom, we will accept that we paid ransom while we make attempts to apprehend the kidnappers. Simple. This is how to lead. Now, let us look at the top stories. First is that one coming from the EFCC chairman. They are now trying to build up some of the things that they can give for Tinubu to campaign with. seeing that the All Progressive Congress has nothing to say to the people. But then this one that the EFCC chairman said was immediately shut down by Nigerians. And next is that very big one coming from Professor Wles Shinka himself. Shinka has now led a symbolic protest against the Tuba administration. The way he did it, we will see it as we proceed in this video.
Before I show you details of his top stories and how Nigerians reacted, let me quickly show you this video. Now, if you don't read between the lines, you will think that this is just a normal video. They are talking about peace between the thieves and the fan in Taba state. But they did not tell us if justice was served. Watch this video.
>> For years, communities in southern Taba lived under the shadow of killings, displacement, and fear. As violence between tea farmers and fani headers escalated across several local government areas, many residents fled their homes. Entire communities were burnt down. Families escaped to Jalingo, Benu and neighboring states for safety.
Community leaders say the crisis worsened between 2022 and early 2026, especially in Donga, Taku, USA, and Yangu areas.
But rather than rely only on force, authorities in Taba state began pursuing a different strategy. Local dialogue backed by intelligence and community participation. the flim will stop a tim from going to farm and the tim also will stop flimsing or his cattle. So we decided to embrace ourself and bring peace to Taba state.
>> At that meeting both the tea farmers and fan headers saw the need for peace and they realized that they are the ones that needed the peace.
They also realized that no external force will give them peace. They knew that external forces will only come and temporarily encourage and any peace that is gotten by the people, any peace that is valued by the people, embraced by the people concerned, that peace will last. But a peace that is imposed maybe by the force of the gun that peace will be temporal.
And what gladdens my heart about what happened in Jalingo between the tea farmers and fan headers is that the people uh discovered the need for peace.
They were ready for the peace. They embraced the peace. They agreed to lay down their arms and they also agreed that in sport they will lay down their arms and embrace peace.
>> The Taraba state government created advisory structures bringing together representatives of farmers and headers across the state. Former Bouchi state governor is Yugura was later invited to support reconciliation efforts between thie and fani stakeholders. You saw that. Now to keep it simple, the chaos between thieve farmers and the headers the fan in Taraba state was resolved.
How did they resolve it? They said there should be peace. People should lay down their arms. The thieves should lay down their arms and the headers should do the same. But the question has to be asked who was at fault because if farmers are on their farms and headers are going about their business how come there was a conflict. You see these are the issues here. Did anybody encroach into another person's land? Who was the person encroaching? Was it the the tea farmers that were encroaching into the lands of the fan or it was the fani headers that were encroaching into the farms of the tea farmers? If you do not address this issue because you are afraid of telling somebody to domesticate his business because you are afraid of telling a group of people to ranch their cattle, you cannot discuss the core of this issue. then there is no peace because they have made several attempts like this in Benway state at the end of the day it made the header stronger because they encroed more into the lands of of the people I won't say the natives now because the fan two are natives in taraba state but in places like Benway plateau state these were the kind of fake peace agreements they had because these other people are easy to appeal to the farmers are easy to talk to they expect the farmers to bend their own wheel and the the headers cannot bend their own wheel. This is 2026. How do you go about the whole place with cattle? It does not make sense. Come to the FCT, come to National Assembly, you'll be seeing cows everywhere. Can't somebody speak to these people that this should not be allowed to continue? Can't laws be made? Are there citizens in this country that are superior to other citizens? These are some of the questions that must be asked. This was what PB was talking about on the issue of unity. He said we are not a united people. We can't keep lying to ourselves that we are a united people. We need to say that truth. If you don't say the truth then you are not ready to solve a problem. The truth has to be said. This is why farmer headers clash will not end in this country because we don't have leaders who can say go and build ranches. Go and build ranches. Stop going all over the place destroying people's farms. And then now you make it look as if the farmers are at fault. The fanis are at fault and let's just settle it. I am on my farm growing my crops.
How am I at fault? These people come into my farm and they eat my crops. This settlement they said they have reached in Taba. We will be here. Give it a few weeks or let's say 1 month at most. You will hear massive attack on Taraba tea farmers and I will bring it to you here.
Trust me. Now let us look at the top stories. First is that one coming from the EFCC chairman trying to help the Tinuba administration to have something to campaign with. And next is that big one coming from the table of wlesinka.
He has led a symbolic protest against the tunu administration and the way he did it you will see as we proceed. Let's start by taking that update from EFCC.
Look at how the papers reported it.
Nigeria stories. Anyone who has stolen Nigeria's national assets will not go unpunished. EFCC chairman Oluko says now in an unprecedented twist of events, the Chinuba administration is trying to use anti-corruption as one of their campaign mantra in 2027. I'm telling you, it sounds shocking, right? Okay. But they are trying to do it. That was why the former minister of uh power sal man was quickly sentenced to jail. Now they have declared the humanitarian minister under Bhari wanted and there are some other cases that are coming up too. In the next two to three months there will be like 20 cases in court anti-corruption cases. That's why they are doing it with they doing with malami. The cases will be up to 20 and then they will come and start listing those cases. They'll be telling you that they are fighting corruption. Then they will say, "Oh, so the man was just looking for his second term in office. He was trying to be cautious in his first term. His second term he's going to deal with them." That is the lie they want to tell. But Nigerians quickly shut it down. They say, "We know what you are trying to do." Asher here says Yo is going to the Senate now after all your threats. Only where Yahoo boys that where you get strength. But you can't do politicians stealing our money anything. That is it.
They can't do anything to politicians.
Even these people that they are attacking now I'm telling you it's a charade. By the time they are able to deceive the people with the anti-corruption mantra and we allow them to exceed 2027 in office, they will release all of them and even start compensate them with Nigeria money and tested done here says scammer RCCG pastor Bo will soon become a senator and your tenor go soon end. Hope you know say now seven months DSS go keep you for underground sale. They play first you go vomit money tire. Believe me when we are able to get the all progressive Congress out of power so many Nigerians are saying they are not going to let the sleeping dog lie that many of these people must go to jail. And I'm telling you that is a motion that I 100% support. People like Apabio and Yamiki must not be allowed to walk away free.
And just as Nigerians were yet reacting to this, that video where Wes Shoinka led a symbolic protest against the Tuna administration began making the rounds.
Woinka said petrol selling at 1,500 naira is too much for Nigerians to cope with. Therefore, in a symbolic protest, he packed his car at home and then went for a function with Okada, commercial motorcycle. After the function, he was seen taking another Okada back home in the company of many Nigerians who were supporting this symbolic protest. This is a heavy blow on the Tinubu administration. All his allies are pulling out one after the other. Let's watch this video. And the video was stacked by Nigeria stories as Professor Shuinka took an Okada home after an event in Abbeuta. According to reports, he said he can no longer fuel his car at 1,500 naira per liter. Let's watch.
one brother. Daddy go.
You saw that? That was Wles Show in there taking an Okada to and fro an event in his hometown in Abbeuta to protest the price of petrol in Nigeria.
Now some people misunderstood this protest. They thought that Shinka has actually become so poor that he can no longer afford to buy petrol. That is not what it means. This is actually a symbolic protest like what they do hunger strike where people that have food will refuse to eat for days just to show solidarity with other people who cannot afford to buy food. This was what Shanka did there. He's trying to show solidarity for Nigerians who are going through excruciating pain as a result of the price of petrol and Tunibu is doing absolutely nothing about it. the subsidy that you have removed we can't see what you are doing with it now there is a windfall because of the war going on in the Middle East and all the money that is coming from that windfall Nigerians cannot feel any single impact from the money yet you have refused to subsidize the price of petrol now this is showing showing to a very large extent now that he's no longer with Tinubu he's trying to remove himself now although Nigerians have refused to allow him to remove himself but this is what he's trying to do and believe me because of how prominent he is this is going to impact on so many people in southwest Nigeria because there are so many people definitely so many people whose resolve with this tinubu thing will be shaken I mean some of those people who genuinely think that they should follow him at this point because of how massively he has failed their resolve will be shaking. Should we still follow this man? Should we not follow him? But when they see a prominent figure like Shinka coming out to display clearly that the man has failed with this symbolic protest, you will see that they will now have the boldness to say, "Listen, I am no longer with this man on this issue."
And this was what I was talking about in I think my last video or the penultimate one that prominent Nigerians should begin to speak out. Don't say that.
Don't don't sugarcoat it. Speak out whoever you are, whatever position you occupy, even if you are a cleric. The other day, some paid members in Lagos state came out and said they were saying a prayer for Tinubu to succeed and that he will get back into office. So if we have people demonic people who call themselves Khan Lagos state charter coming out to support a demonic political party then why shouldn't you who is a genuine cleric come out and speak against it you should speak against it you should meet m Muslim clerics and have interfaith programs to speak against the all progressive congress but Nigerians did not entirely accept uh wlesink's gesture they felt that the man left it too late before he began criticizing Tinubu. Kogi first on here says I don't know what you guys are talking about. I see this as a form of protest. Even if the fuel cost more, these people will still be able to afford it. Kiwa's first one here is speaking to those who think that Shinka is actually broke. here says he don't tell Tinubu face to face they fear face AB saying she does not need this kind of protest that he should say to Tinubu face to face that he has failed on wheel says that is a bold statement about time he admonished his friend that is it and Adex John said God bless your wisdom for understanding this move as a symbolic protest at says hypocrite professor you cannot condemn the current administration Instead of speaking against tin he's using he will learn the hard way here does not accept this gesture he wants shinka to publicly speak against the tuba administration let him use his words the same way he did against Jonathan I think that is better that is better because uh prof has always been showing himself as a nationalist so come out now and discuss national issue the way you should discuss them the way you have been discussing them not trying to score a cheap political point by carrying out a symbolic protest. Many have come out to appreciate it and they have said it will go a long way to to to guide the decisions of so many Nigerians but I think if Prof wants to completely redeem himself he needs to come out and completely condemn this administration.
He began doing it once when he spoke about Shinubu's convoy and look at the reception that he received then. Many Nigerians actually praised him. Even though many still condemned him for the role he played in getting this administration into power, there were so many who said he tried by publicly condemning Tinubu. Now he should go ahead after this protest and begin to speak against this administration. Speak for your country. A country that has given you so much. Imagine what this country gave to all of you. How it helped you to become global icons.
Today, people, citizens of this country can't even feed. And even those that are struggling to feed cannot keep their lives because of widespread insecurity.
All hands must be on deck to get the All Progressive Congress out of power.
Anyway, make I leave. I'm here. I'll see you in my next video. And it promises to be informative. Don't go away. Don't go away.
