This video explores how Western media historically portrays Africa through negative stereotypes (hunger, war, disease), which can create feelings of shame and inferiority among Africans. The speaker argues that media narratives are often controlled by wealthy interests who avoid broadcasting their own negative actions like exploitation and colonization. The video highlights Captain Ibrahim Traoré, the military leader of Burkina Faso, as an example of African leadership that challenges Western narratives by pursuing economic independence, reducing French influence, and implementing nationalist reforms. The speaker emphasizes that all forms of oppression are interconnected and that understanding media bias is crucial for recognizing systemic injustices.

Captain Ibrahim Traoré : Who Is He & Why Does He Matter ? #shortfeed #usaelections #donaldtrumpAdded:
military hunter leader whom you brand as a dangerous radical whom you serve up as an anti-western dictator am now telling you the truth and this time you cannot turn off your microphones this time you cannot turn away your cameras this time your editors cannot cut the speech because the world you monopolize no longer exists because millions will hear these words now without passing through your filters without being subjected to your distortions without being muddied by your lies every day of my life I grew up with your lies As a child, I would watch Africa on television. Always the same images.
Children with flies, dry lands, weapons, death. This is Africa, they told us.
This is what Africa is. And we believed it. We were ashamed of ourselves. We were ashamed of our own lands, of our own people. But then I grew up. I read.
I researched. I questioned. And I understood that the effort that you showed us wasn't the story you told us was a lie. The fate you imposed on us, the script you had for years. How have you shown it? How have you sold it to your viewers? As if we were creatures had no share of humanity. As if we were savages left outside of civilization. As if we were wretches waiting for you to save us. Every day, every hour, every minute, the same story plays on the screens. Hunger, war, disease.
>> Yeah. So, don't believe everything you read, right? And you know, so one of the problems with the media and the narrative is that it is usually controlled by the 1% the wealthiest. And obviously they're not going to air their dirty laundry to the world. So they're not going to broadcast things like human trafficking and and and slavery and colonization and say this is what we really did. Uh and when they do uh go onto the world stage, they're going to often make themselves look like the hero of the story and not the villain. So that that's one problem with world media. And then another problem with uh AI is just as people automatically assume anything on the news is true, uh people assume anything that AI spits at them is true. AI is I want you guys to really understand this about AI. AI is is the fastest source of misinformation out there in the entire world. It it can scour the internet, jump to false conclusions. Um, and and remember it's only polling from the internet, which means anybody who who writes a post, it's getting data from that. Anyone who pay posts, whether it's accurate investigative journalism or fake news, it pulls from that.
And then because AI says it, a lot of you guys automatically think it's true.
Um, you know, so one of so one there's a couple things we talk about with marginalized groups and one of those things is the concept of eraser. uh meaning their their story and their version of history is often not passed down or told. Um and that is why it's important to keep documents in records that come to mind when no hopeess Washington Post Africa headlines times entrepreneur.
Have you ever asked yourselves director any world's richest lands poor?
South Africa of world's cobalt reserves your cell phone your computer your electric car won't come afford.
Tanzania gold flows like Angola, Congo, Sierra Leon Why is that?
Shape.
Now you make a perfect You used to rule with names, dates, but 126.
Justice 20 million tons now French oiling.
Okay, Honk if you you love this guy like do you have you guys heard of him?
Captain Troy, he's pretty amazing leader. He's he's probably one of the best world leaders I've ever seen in my life. Um he has uh brought factories to his his country. He he's brought jobs, money, wealth. He he's cut France out of doing dirty business in his country.
He's done what every uh colonialist like America and the UK and France has done to African nations uh claimed to do when they were there but never did. Right?
Like America's always going over to some region of Africa, claiming they're there for for humanity and their ultimate good, but really they're just stripping them of their diamonds, their gold, their oil, and they they continue to leave them in poverty, right? And then they spread a feel good story on the the news back to the Westerners, right?
Meanwhile, they they strip the Africans blind. We know this has been occurring because uh because it took one African leader to step up and change the course of history and his name is Abraham Troy.
South Africa billion unemployed.
>> Um so like again you guys are in here saying like uh ridiculous things. cuz I heard a good quote today um about a crow and an eagle. Uh and it was like uh a cro an eagle is the only bird that doesn't peck at a crow when it lands on its back because it just elevates itself further and further and eventually it gets to a point in the sky. The crow can't breathe. The crow chokes because the crow can't withstand the elevation of the eagle. The crow can't fly as high as the eagle. And uh you know that's actually better to watch in a little YouTube video. But uh the reason I respond to your guys's petty comments is because I use it as a a teaching moment.
Like when you're um in there going that's what Africa gets for being weak and stupid. Like I know that you believe black people deserve slavery and black people deserve colonialism, but but by that logic, do you also believe that children deserve to be kidnapped, abducted, and sex traffked? Do you believe that if a burglar broke into your house and killed you? That they have a right to grape your wife and kill your children and then rob your TV and any goods they could find because you were weak and stupid? You know, so like the kind of labels you guys say to justify violence when it comes knocking at your door, can we turn a blind eye to it and say that's what you get for being weak and stupid?
Like I mean honestly, I know this is the internet and it feels like what can I say here? But like words have like a real ramification.
Normally I uh I've been talking about the the the you know Obama. I've been talking about Obama, but I I but Obama he's sitting on the the bench lines. You know Obama he did his thing, boo. And and and and now I think it's time to talk about some other powerful black men who are leading the world well. so we can see what black leadership looks like because it looks freaking amazing. It looks like what the world needs to heal and recover and to be a more fair and equitable place for us all.
The only bird that dares to peck an eagle is the crow. The crow sits on the eagle's back and bites its neck. The eagle acts as though the crow were not there by ignoring it. It doesn't spend its time and energy. Instead, it just spreads its wings and rises high into the sky, soaring into heights beyond the ordinary until the crow falls off due to lack of oxygen.
Learn from the eagle and don't focus on the crow. Just keep ascending.
Do not allow yourself to focus on these trivialities. Keep your focus up and keep rising. The only bird that dares to peck an eagle is the crow. The crow sits on the eagle's back and bites its neck.
The eagle acts as though the crow were not there by ignoring it. It doesn't spend its time and energy.
>> Uh 44 million people are enslaved today. Shouldn't we do something about that? We we absolutely should do something about that. You know, again, uh Stacy Chen said a quote that I think is true, which is all oppression is the same oppression.
Like like when we have people in the comments who are saying things like that's what Africa gets for for being weak and stupid. You you probably weren't in here when I made the comment.
Is that what we should tell children who are sex trafficked or human traffked?
That's what you get for being weak and stupid, kid.
You know, because like that kind of cruelty is what manifests all oppression. Like uh when Stacy Chen says all oppression is is oppression, what she means is if any group is being oppressed, we're exercising a lack of humanity. We're exercising evil. We're exercising cruelty. And by that default, we are oppressing civilization in our own kind. You know, I know people like to think that we are so different based on melanin in our skin, which is a biological adaptation to the sun and where you your ancestors were geographically located quite literally, right? Like Europeans are white because they lived in colder climates. Asians tend to live in tropical climates, right? Like people with the darkest skins take the most intense heat. Curly hair is actually designed to release heat, right? So like our skin is literally an adaptation to the geography that our ancestors adapted to. That's all it is is the melanin in our skin is a reflection of where we were born on geography and in our DNA on a map. Quite literally. How much sun are you bio biologically equipped to take? Quite literally. and and and so to feel like uh an entire group is unworthy because they're actually capable of enduring the sun longer is is is is is completely a bizarre concept and and that is the foundation of racism.
But I think uh this leader can speak on his own leadership for himself.
deals, the offshore accounts, transport trucks. Every year, $88 billion in illegal money flows out of Africa. Who writes about this? Every year while you zoom, your camera scrolling.
Big deal.
news to international media and this is how the system works 100 years and you don't see the system you don't want because you're part of the system who cartels live on CNN, BBC, France.
>> He's um he's so disciplined and articulate and effective in his speech that he he seems like AI, doesn't he?
Uh, I remember when I I was first watching his videos like I really thought he was an AI generated character. It turns out he is a real uh leader in Bkino Foso and um forgive me for as usual my American pronunciations in my slip of tongue uh because I'm I'm learning about these uh him kind of on the spot and I'm intrigued. Uh so I want to learn more. Usually my lives are uh me learning about something and basically doing it live.
We can learn together. That's that's usually what I do on live is I don't I learn more about ICE agents or I learn more about somebody who got murdered in the news or I learn more about a country or I learn more about a world issue. Um and and so you we can call this like study time with Lion Brave or like and and and also there's opportunity to have discussion um and and and to learn together as a group, but this shouldn't be a space for like hate mongering or like just trolling and being nasty because um there there's plenty of spaces on the internet and like if you like and if you're not like like here to like because you're you truly want to learn more uh about about him, then like you know just go find another internet space where you belong. That it's like pretty simple.
Black Coley says black leadership looks like Nigeria, DCR, etc. We can dive into that. Collie said it looks like destruction, corruption, and incompetence. Maybe for some of the reasons like he said, like even within the American system, obviously there's a a great amount of corruption. I'm not sure where you guys are from and that would be helpful. Like how how do you who's the leader in your country? Where do you live? And how do you feel they're doing? Do you feel like they're a benevolent leader, a corrupt leader, or do you feel like they're somewhat in between? A balanced leader.
Will he run his country as effective as South Africa? So, I don't know a lot about South Africa and because I consider myself a woman of color, meaning I'm biracial. I have a white father and a black mother. I think a Africa South Africa would be a very interesting place for me to look into because I hear South Africa has perfect racism, meaning the upper class is white, the poorest class is black, and the middle class is biracial like me.
colored.
So, I would definitely be open to learning more about South Africa. If anyone is from South Africa, DM me because I would also be open to taking a personal tour of South Africa.
Harry said he is the military appointed president of Bkino Foso. He has become popular among panaffricans for his dim the minacing of the CFA Frank and French unfair trading practices. Harry knows a lot. That's right, Harry. Harry Harry knows a lot. Harry looks like he's he's already been studying this guy. He's admirable. I think a lot of us should be studying this guy. Like he is definitely a naturalb born leader. And one thing I really feel is that he is a divine leader. I feel like he was appointed by God.
Africans will always find an in their minds. As I was saying recently, Africa belongs to them. Our lands belong to them. Africa's wealth is theirs. And they simply cannot imagine that Africans could emancipate themselves, lift their heads above water, and want to stand up to them. And for that, they've ingrained a stereotype in their minds. Africans are easy to manipulate. They are nothing but emot.
>> Gotta boil some water.
My name is Lra. Hit the subscribe button. Hit the subscribe button. I had a kind of an emotionally heavy day today. Um, what does that mean? It means I threw myself a little pity party for like 12 hours. Okay. And um you know, it wasn't like a hardcore pity party uh or anything, but you know, I guess I was feeling homesick because I'm away from well, my home and my niece graduated, so that would trigger homesick fillings. Uh and uh the reason I'm bringing up my little pity party is also my room is messier than usual. Not terrible, but messier than usual. I definitely believe that it's it's not terrible, but messier than usual. And I I definitely believe that your um your environment reflects what is going on in here. And so it's not terrible, but it is messier than usual. And and and and I did have a like a like a a rough a rough like a rough 12 hours. P threw myself a little pity party because I missed my niece's graduation and then some work stuff didn't go the way I wanted it to. Um and and and and also I'm experiencing like major life changes. Um and so I I had a little pity party. Another reason I'm bringing up my pity party is because when you fall into a mood that feels sad or like depression, which by the way, let's clear up the difference between sadness and depression.
It is very easy to tell your friends you are depressed. No, you're not. You had a moment. You're sad. Like if if you're over it and for instance 12 hours, you had a moment you were sad. Depression is like when you cannot snap out of it for months and months and months and months on the end, right? It's when you you that no matter what happens, that bad mood doesn't go away. like there there's a big difference between falling into a a moment, a a sad day, a bad day, and and severe depression. So, I think people need to clear that up and and define what their their their feelings more accurately. Um, but either way, I would like to say that I believe this to be true.
depression.
Well, okay. So, depression can be caused for biological reasons that need to be investigated, but it's also it is quite a privilege to be throwing yourself a pity party. I I say this because I think it's really true. If you have the luxury of feeling bad for yourself, it means that you are comfortable enough that you can sit in your fillings. Like literally you can sit in your fillins and and go like you know like because like when I'm truly in survival mode like pounding the streets working three jobs like in my car like driving four hours a day at work like 14 hours a day when I'm like truly in survival mode trying to get that money pay them bills shoot maybe even sleeping in a car shoot maybe like trying to land on my feet in a foreign country and all these are real life scenarios. When I'm truly in survival mode, I do not have the luxury of feeling sad. I don't feel sad at all.
I'm too busy surviving. So, I would also So, I'd also like to remind people like if you're sitting there and you're like, congratulations. You're probably somewhat comfortable in your life to be honest.
If you have the luxury of to feel bad about your life, you're probably somewhat comfortable because Sorry about that. My my phone overheats cuz I'm actually living someplace that's kind of hot and it overheats and when it overheats it it like freezes and also I I I I I take a lot of videos so my storage is like completely full. I don't think that's that's happened. and and so I apologize because sometimes when I go live I have I have a lot of technical errors but frankly if you ever watched my YouTube channel you're probably used to that you know like honestly I feel like honored to have 10,000 subscribers on YouTube. I feel like for me that is a big following and I'm not really sure how I got there and like I got to thank the people who subscribed because we have had nothing but technical difficulties the entire way. Like I am not a perfect content creator at all.
Not even close. Like you guys see content creators, they have like these these big setups, these like amazing cameras, these these text and these mics, you you know, and like you know, so I'm to be honest, I'm not even really sure how I made it to 10K subscribers on YouTube, but thank you for following me.
My name is Lion Brave and I I appreciate the the support. um known for technical errors, but also real talk and and the truth. And and uh we try not to censor the audience, but we don't pay attention to every ugly comment at the same time.
So, let's see what area is dropping.
Hold on, let me scroll up.
Man, Drake056 said, "Will he run his country as effective as South Africa?" I think that's what we were talking about.
And I was saying, "Hey, if you live in South Africa, slide into my DMs on Facebook and invite me to take a tour of your country." All right. Do a little travel vlog with me. I have another channel called Accent Ambassadors, and that would make for some cool content.
Harry said he is the military appointed president Bino Fosso. He has become popular among pan-Africans uh for diminishing the CFA Frank and French unfair trading practices. Tony thinks South Africa is rapidly falling apart.
Um one of my good friends is living in Cambodia. She um is actually from South Africa. She she's a gorgeous South African. I'm sure you're wondering, she's a white gorgeous South African.
Um, and to be honest, me and her had a lot of racial banter um, in like a playful, humorous way. Me and her worked together, and we were like best friends.
I'm talking about the kind of like soulmate best friends where like on day one, she like threw me the keys to her scooter, was like, "Go get me a coffee beep." And like I did, you know, like why I mean, she trusted me enough with her her motorbike and and you know, like cuz I could have taken off that day.
That was like day one for me, you know, at that job. A scooter is would have been a big score in Cambodia. Cambodia is kind of lawless. I probably could have gotten away with taking her bike, frankly, because even the police will take your bike just to cipher your gas in Cambodia, allegedly.
Okay? I love Cambodia, okay? And and I I love uh I even love Cambodia's corruption. You want to know why? Cuz it's on a a scale I can afford. Like you can bribe like a police officer there for like $5. Like I didn't say that.
Allegedly you can like blow up a cow with a bazooka for like $5. If you don't believe me, go to Netflix and uh Cambodia is on uh this Netflix special called like Dark Tourism.
Oh, I I shouldn't be doing a YouTube live because I'm getting over a flu and my my voice is still rough.
Um but yeah.
All right. Harry says, "But the problem with that is those countries that join it no longer have uh sovereignty as the French Treasury de facto controls the peg." Harry said they can also order a country send some of their foreign currency income to the French Treasury to be held there.
Harry said there was a prominent issue in 2008 when the French treasury loaned African countries money that there was held in France. South Africa is a complete failure and Big Zip said facts.
pretty good comments. Pretty good comments.
Especially if you're you're hiding behind an alias, which it's perfectly acceptable on the internet and most people should do that. There's no reason you shouldn't drop what country you're in.
Uh Harry obviously looks like he represents the UK.
They will always find an Look who we are.
>> We're in Wagadoo, the bustling capital city of Bkina Faso, a country famously known for arts, culture, and African revolutionary thought. And in recent years, it's become one of the deadliest places in the world for terrorism. The people here are hoping that under the leadership of their charismatic young president that they can find sovereignty, security, and freedom from their former colonizer, France. I have the chance to meet the man himself and interview him under extremely controlled conditions. We're on our way to interview President Ibrahim Char for an exclusive round table that's been completely engineered by Presidential Comm's department. their cameras, their lights, their footage, and in the meantime, I'm cramming my French because we've been told we won't be allowed a translator as hard as we've tried to get one. What follows is a question being endorsed in >> other than across the country. The fact that my voice from being sick and I am still stressing it. Yeah, I can >> is raining and that is messing up >> my signal >> like in other towns or villages uh a lot of people.
>> We're in Wagodu the bustling capital city of >> Harry said I don't know why he's he's worshiped as some sort of good person.
He's a military dictator appointed to the military. He has never elected.
>> We can explore that. I think he's dope.
Frankly, I think he's one of the dopest leaders I've ever seen. Security and freedom from their former polo are >> and I believe he wasn't appointed at all. I believe he took it by a coup.
>> Controlled conditions.
>> But you know what? I would rather a righteous leader take a corrupt leader out of government through force than the other way around.
Chris says, "I'm a hot babe." And and by babe, he said beautiful. I refer to myself as a babe. Yeah, people who are not [ __ ] actually used to call me lion babe.
But I'm getting old.
Can you guys hear the rain in the background?
White noise is good for your sleep patterns.
Okay, I'm about to let AI give you guys some facts.
>> Ibrahim Dore, the current military ruler of Tokina, is a deeply polarizing figure. Admired by some as a revolutionary who resists western influence, but criticized by others as an authoritarian who suppresses democracy and free speech. Whether he's seen as a good or bad leader depends on perspective. His supporters highlight nationalist reforms and security efforts while critics point to human rights abuses and indefinite military rule.
Okay. Key facts about Ibrahim.
is a position interim president of booking deficit since April 2020 coup background military officer born in 1988 rose to power after ousting Paul or Henry Damiba ideology nationalist panafricanist strongly anti-western aligned with Russia to China controversial stance declares abandon western style democracy VA positive achievements security focus justify who is necessary ified jihadist insurgencies governs like a war CEO prioritizing territorial defense economic reforms reports of GDP growth 5.5% 2024 rejection of IMF loans and increased control of mineral resources national projects open tomato processing plants launch book's first locally designed electric vehicle and cut governance salaries while raising self- serving wages independence French troops distancing bikinis influence criticisms and concerns. authoritarian rule, dissolved political policies in January 2026, extended transition to 2029, and curtailed demographic freedoms. Human rights abuses, crackdown on press, oition, and then civil society constricted contradictions initially promised to return to democracy trust instability survived at least five showing fragility.
We're up against extraordinary violence to replace military stress of protection. Ongoing violence remains high. Economy growth, local industry projects, lack of transparency, media suppression. What democracy project independence from France and ego? Risk of isolation from Russia. Conclusion.
Abraham is neither simply good nor bad.
He embodies both charismatic reformist energy and authoritarian repression. His leadership appeals to those western bio democracy but raises serious concerns about human rights and long-term stability. Would you like me to dive deeper into his economic reforms ca ibraham economic reforms his stance of democracy caq ibra views on democracy or his foreign alliances ca foreign policy alliances. You guys, what are your views on democracy? I'm American, so we've been told the narrative that democracy is the best way to lead a nation. But to be honest, if you look at democracy, it would appear it doesn't work and is also corrupted and kind of an illusion, a farce even.
It would appear that only like uh certain people could actually, don't get me wrong, anyone can sign up to run for president, okay? And I've seen it. And to be honest, some of the candidates who sign up for president, it looks laughable. Like they don't understand the infrastructure it takes to be president.
Like, you know, if only your mom votes for you, your your campaign run was a joke. It wasn't serious at all. Like, running for president, it requires a large infrastructure, right? So anyone can technically register to run for president as long as they meet the requirements of being 35 and a United States citizen of an America. But to have a true true chance of winning, you have to to be well known in America.
America America is a large nation. I mean you South Korea can fit inside Ohio and that's just one of our states. So America is a massive country. It's a it's a geographic beast.
Um, and you have to reach that geographic beast to be a real contender.
And if you can only reach your mom, you're not going to win, honey. Like, you know, so like, yeah, anyone can run for president, but the people who have the kind of power, influence, and money it takes to actually win, that's a whole other ball game. Not to mention, is corruption and ballot stuffing real? Probably. you probably also have to deal with fraud, election fraud, ballot stuffing, uh corruption when you're when you're when you're dealing with politics. So, I would say it'd be very challenging to know if you have a a fair shake as running the running as president. Democracy, it seems like a fade. It seems like an illusion.
But either way, the way our our our policies in America are designed, it's like every time one side makes progress, the which Americans refer to them as I guess the liberals, the conservatives, I guess people uh seem to uh want to uh take back whatever the liberals did.
Like if the liberals get LGBTQU rights, the ne then the the the uh the conservatives want to take it back. The liberals get health care for women. The conservatives want to take it back.
I'm sick. I I shouldn't be going live.
I also need to drink more water, but it's raining.
I'm in a place where you cannot take drink the tap water. One of the reasons you can't drink the tap water is because of the rain. The constant flooding uh makes it very hard for the city's pip piping infrastructure to not become rusted constantly, meaning there will be heavy c contamination uh in the the pipes. I I'm not sure how much money it would cost them to redo the entire infrastructure, but they would need a they would need a completely new model than the old models. Uh because I I believe obviously they make their their piping out of metal. A lot of people do, but it doesn't work for places that have heavy rain season because it rust and is corroded quickly, meaning the water becomes contaminated. Anyways, my name is Lion Brave. Hit the subscribe button.
This laptop is about to die. This I probably should get off of this live because the voice the spawn wants to die. My laptop wants to die. It's Well, but it's raining outside so I can't even go get water right now.
Sh.
I have a Neo computer, meaning it takes a C charger, which I like that it takes a C charger because it means that you guys know, here's the benefit of a C charger. You guys know that issue when your remember when your Apple cord used to like get lost or stolen or injured somehow? It it it took like at least 70 USD uh to to replace it which in fairness is kind of a lot of money for a cord and also it took a trip to Best Buy or Apple. That's a lot of work to get your laptop to run again. C chords are everywhere. They're easily available.
So, I really like that the new Neo takes a C chord.
