Most couples don't need more love but rather need to cultivate cherishing (consciously slowing down to see each other) and understanding the 'why' behind destructive patterns; when couples learn to name and understand their patterns together, they stop taking things personally and become curious, which transforms their marriage.

Most couples don’t need more love — they need safety, understanding, and tools they were neverAñadido:
After working with couples through some of their hardest seasons of their marriages, two things shift almost every time. First, cherishing.
Sounds simple, huh? But when I watch happen when couples consciously bring it back, it's pretty remarkable. A closeness they tell me they haven't felt in years, not because everything's fixed, but because they remembered to slow down and see each other. Second, understanding the why behind the destructive pattern. Most couples I work with aren't in, you know, bad marriages. They're in unexamined ones. Two people running old protective strategies, neither one understanding where the other one's coming from. When they learn that together, when the pattern gets a name and a reason, something releases. They stop taking things so personally. They get start getting curious instead.
Cherishing and curiosity about the pattern. Those two things change marriages. I've I've watched it happen.
