[00:00:46]The Supreme Court rarely steps into individual deportation cases, but when it does, the stakes are always high.

[00:00:55]This case, a Mexican family, Fabian Lagunias Espinoza and Maria Angelica Flores Yula, and their two sons had been fighting a removal after entering the United States in 2021 during the Biden administration.

[00:01:11]They claimed threats from a drug cartel in Mexico, but an immigration judge, the Board of Immigration Appeals, and the Ninth Circuit Court all rejected their appeal. They said, "You guys are perfectly fine. What are you worried about?" The family was ordered to report for deportation on April 17th, 2025.

[00:01:28]Their lawyers tried one last emergency appeal to the Supreme Court to block that removal. What happened next caught many, including myself, completely off guard.

[00:01:40]You see what happened here was liberal Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson. Yes, the justice that isn't a biologist and can't tell you the difference between a man and a woman, Ketanji Brown Jackson denied the emergency order and request without comment.

[00:01:57]She sent the illegal aliens home.

[00:02:02]Ketanji Brown Jackson, acting alone, she refused to refer to the full court, allowing the deportation to proceed.

I didn't think this would happen and if you had asked me to bet money on which justice it was before I read the story, I would have never bet any money that it was Ketanji Brown Jackson, but it was. This is a significant moment. A justice widely viewed as the most liberal on the bench siding with the Trump administration on immigration enforcement priorities.

[00:02:32]Insanity. We're grateful for it, but it's insane. The ruling highlights that even ideological lines can bend when the lower courts have already ruled against the petitioners. It's another example of the court refusing to override established legal processes in individual cases.
