[00:00:00]Greetings. You are welcome to today's lesson. So I was uh a bit surprised when a certain person asked me that do you know that say the water that you have been taking has been taken before by a certain uh living things. So I was very confused but I couldn't ask the person because he he seemed to be in a hurry.

[00:00:21]But later I discovered that water on earth is never created nor destroyed but it just moves uh from uh one place to another and this movement is what cycle. Okay. So I've said that water on earth is never created or destroyed but just moves and the movement is what refer to as cycle. Okay. So we can write what we have said.

[00:00:51]So we have said that water on earth is uh never created nor destroyed. It's neither created nor destroyed.

[00:01:22]Okay. Water on earth is neither created nor destroyed but it just moves.

[00:01:41]Okay. So then I understood this. Okay.

[00:01:44]So the movement of water on earth is what we refer to as water cycle. So the simple definition of water cycle we can say is that it's simply the movement of water on earth. The movement of water on earth then we have seen that water is neither created nor destroyed. So you cannot destroy water it just moves.

[00:02:06]Okay. The movement is what refer to as water cycle. So this movement the movement is what we're calling water cycle.

[00:02:27]Okay. So this movement is water as water cycle.

[00:02:34]Okay. So for us to clearly understand water cycle we need to look at the following uh what we call key processes.

[00:02:43]So there are key processes on uh the water cycle that help us to fully understand how the water cycle works. So the water cycle is simply the movement of uh water.

[00:02:59]Okay. The key processes of the water cycle. So the first key process of the water cycle we have uh evaporation. So these are just the processes that are involved on the cycle during the formation of water. So the first one we've got uh evaporation.

[00:03:21]So I believe this is a familiar term with us.

[00:03:27]We've got evaporation.

[00:03:30]So what is evoporation?

[00:03:32]So this evaporation is simply the change of uh okay before we get into evaporation do you know that water exists in three states. Do you know that water exists in three states? And these states are uh we've got liquid.

[00:03:49]Okay we've got solid and the other one is gas. So the water just changes from this state to this state or from a liquid to solid or from liquid to gas just like uh that.

[00:04:10]So these are the states of uh liquid and or these are the states of water and for water to change from one state of to the to the other they uh they should be the process the processes just like uh that.

[00:04:28]Okay. So back to evaporation now. So we said that evaporation is simply the change of uh uh water to gas. the send of water to gas where a liquid changes to gas. A liquid changes to gas is what we call evaporation. So evaporation is involved during the uh processes of water cycle during the process of the water cycle.

[00:04:55]So here uh the sun the sun hits uh the water bodies the sun hits the water bodies and the the the water in those water bodies evaporates going into the atmosphere. Okay. So here we have said that the sun is the main key. The sun hits uh the water bodies.

[00:05:22]And these water bodies that we're talking about they can be uh lakes, oceans, uh rivers. There are there are many And so when the sun hits these uh water bodies, the water will evaporate going into the atmosphere. Have you ever thought of how the the clothes dries up when when you when you when you wash them? So they dry up as due to a process known as evaporation. The sun will heat uh that clothes and the water in it will evaporate going into the atmosphere.

[00:06:04]Hence your clothes being dry it up.

[00:06:09]So here you should just know that under evaporation or on evaporation water changes from liquid uh to gas or vapor. Let's use vapor because it's the appropriate term.

[00:06:29]Okay. To vapor, water changes from liquid to water vapor. And this water vapor is found in the Okay. The second process that we need we need to know on the water cycle it's transpilation. It's a transpilation.

[00:07:00]So transpiration is simply the loss of water in the plants uh in the form of in the plants in the form of uh water vapor. So the plants will lose that water in uh in them in the form of water vapor. And this process is what you refer to as trans umation. So transation. So here we can say uh that plants plants release water vapor from the leaves. So you should know that plants release uh water vapor from the leaves from the leaves.

[00:07:52]Okay. So this is what happens during translation. the plant to release the water in the form of vapor through the leaves. So here you should also the simple term that we can use is for you to remember you should also know that plants sweat to plant sweat too.

[00:08:22]Okay. So the prints do sweat do sweat.

[00:08:26]So when they do that they will release the water vapor into the atmosphere.

[00:08:31]Hence we're going to have water in the atmosphere. So this is what happens during the the process of transpiration I'm talking about.

[00:08:53]Okay. So, uh rather than these two terms that we have talked of another process that is involved in the water cycle is condensation.

[00:09:12]Condization.

[00:09:17]So uh during condensation water vapor cools and form crowds. So that that water which was was released from the plant will cool and forms the crowd. So this is where the formation of the crowds comes in. So we can write that water the water vapor which was lost by uh the the plants uh vapor cool and uh forms crow.

[00:09:56]So that's water which was released by plants will uh okay that's water which was released by plants we uh cool down and forms crowding this is where the preparation of the rainfall comes in. So uh condensation is uh is common in our even our daytoday life. It's just that some of us don't just notice okay notice uh that so uh I'm sure I'm pretty sure you have seen water droplets on a code water droplet on the code board okay for example if you put what's or maybe you put a bottle in the fridge you're going to find out that time you're going to remove it you start you'll find that there's water on on the outside of the uh bottle so that's the process of condensation. The vapor in the in the fridge has uh just turned into liquid through the process known as condensation. So condensation is just a process by which the water vapor turns into a liquid and here it leads to the formation of the crowd. So crowds are formed due to the process of condensation in the atmosphere.

[00:11:17]Okay. And uh another one another process that we need uh to also know is uh precipitation. So precipitation.

[00:11:28]So precipitation this is a common uh term. So this just means uh rainfall precipitation.

[00:11:37]This I here precipitation.

[00:11:43]Okay. like this precipitation.

[00:11:48]So uh this precipitation just means water force. Okay, water falls. So water water will fall uh down on earth, it will fall down on the ground through the process of precipitation. So here it simply means that rainfall that we receive that's what we refer to as precipitation. It forms it it comes down as a process of precipitation. You have I believe you have heard of someone saying that ah these are precipitates.

[00:12:16]Okay these are precipitates means that those were formed due to the process of precipitation. So under precipitation here you can just say that water falls water.

[00:12:30]So what are we for as a rainfall?

[00:12:45]Okay. And this rainfall can be in liquid form or snow. We have experienced uh the rains that are in uh snow forms.

[00:12:56]So on precipitation just uh when you hear precipitation just know that they're talking about the rainfall. And finally the uh last the last stage or the last process that we need to know about a water cycle is uh collection collection. So this is five number five collection.

[00:13:23]So here on correction um that water which came down we just correct in uh in the water body such as the liver. So here we can just say the river here you can just say that water falls into the rivers uh and oceans or we can just say water falls water water flows into the water bodies. So water flows into the water bodies. So if if a question was to come on the water cycle, these are the process that you need to include.

[00:14:09]Okay. So for us to uh clearly understand this, I I'll give you this uh simple trick. So you should uh remember this talk of this every uh teacher can miss or can pass class.

[00:14:45]Okay. So every teacher can pass class where. So these are the processes that I've just put it in a simple way that you can be used to remember. Every teacher can pass class where this E stand for evaporation that we have talked about. So this is evaporation and then this is transpiration. T stand for transpiration. C stand for condensation.

[00:15:07]P stand for precipitation and C stand for correction. So use this trick. Use this trick. Correction. precipitation, uh, condensation, transpilation, evaporation. Use this trick to remember the processes. Okay. So, for us to clearly understand this, we need an image so that we see what we're talking about. And this is a simple image.

[00:15:36]So, we've got this image. So, this is a simple image of a water cycle. So water cycle.

[00:15:52]Okay. The simple image of water cycle.

[00:15:54]So this is what happens during the form the formation of water. Okay.

[00:16:01]So we've got this this is a water body.

[00:16:04]We can name is a river. So we've got the river. So and uh let's say we've got the sun here. So the will be somewhere here.

[00:16:16]Okay, just like a simple sign. So when this sun hits the water bodies, the water will rise in a vapor form. The water will rise in the vapor form and go in the atmosphere. So this is the arrow showing how the water will rise after the sun the sun rays hits the water bodies. Okay. And this process is what's referring to as evaporation. So we've got evaporation here.

[00:16:44]Okay, we've got evaporation.

[00:16:48]So, evaporation is simply uh the rise of uh water into water vapor. So, when the these water bodies get got gets eaten up by the sun, the water will rise in a vapor form and it will be in the atmosphere. Okay. So, and this is a tree showing how the tree loses water into the atmosphere. So the as we said that the plants do sweat too. So when uh this especially in the morning the plants lose water into the atmosphere and this pro process is what we refer to as uh transpiration.

[00:17:29]Okay. So this is transpiration. So after the water has gone into the atmosphere or after the plants have lost water into the atmosphere the water will now uh be there variable in the atmosphere and it will form cloud. It will form cloud and this process is what refer as cond formation of of the clouds.

[00:17:53]Okay, condensation after condisation the clouds will be formed and finally we are going to have we're going to have rains coming down and this is what we refer to as precipitation. So we've got precipitation.

[00:18:09]Okay.

[00:18:13]Okay. We've got uh precipitation.

[00:18:15]Precipitation. After precipitation the water will now run off into the water bodies again. And this is what refers correction. So the order will be uh corrected. So you see so the the cycle keeps on repeating itself. After this this process might happen this process will happen also this process will happen back again back go again like just like that it's just keep on uh repeating itself.
