Look at that number, 10 million marks. This was printed in 1923 [music] and it could barely buy a newspaper and a few months later it couldn't buy anything at all. People were burning these to stay warm because the paper was worth more than the money.

[00:00:31]It is completely blank on the back and there is a reason for that.

[00:00:36]And on the front, [music] some of the text on here that's printed is some of the craziest text I've ever seen. Then there's this tiny coin with a small tree on it. The same tree [music] shows up again more than 50 years later on a completely different piece of currency and that's after the country experienced two world wars, a wall that went up and came back down. Germany chose twice not to let that symbol change. So why a tree? Well, that's part of the story.
