[00:37:38]Western Lantern reminds me of the Smashing Pumpkins remaster original.

[00:37:43]was kind of bad quality and the remaster were a fix. I usually do not like I usually don't like remasters, but some of them are are good. Like I grew up listening to um I grew up listening to the Offspring and Green Day. So, the original mixes of of the Smash album were good, but Spotify has the remasters up now. So, and I and I I like the sound of the remaster that they put up.

[00:38:26]I do not subscribe to the louder is better mentality, but the remasters kind of sort of improve on the original lacklusterness of the original mixes.

[00:39:30]This guy, look, he's obviously an analog fan and he has a bunch of analog gear in his studio, but like the way that he literally like goes and explores [ __ ] and he like he immediately knows exactly what it needs. He knows exactly where to bring it in studio.

[00:40:02]I mean, I still prefer the original over his mix, but like, >> but like like the the the backing vocals are a little more present in his mix.

[00:40:25]and he just like in a matter of minutes gets a mix going on his desk. Like this dude knows every in-n-out about his system. He knows exactly where everything is. And the the dude's awesome.

[00:40:41]Again, like I I I like to think that I'm kind of sort of the same thing with my with my digital equivalent, mostly because I don't have like six figures worth of funding to buy all the analog stuff. But the dude clearly knows what the [ __ ] he's doing.

[00:40:57]You wouldn't believe all the big son multitracks I have had that I that I have collected. Um I would love to figure out where to get the big multittrack stems from of the original mixes. Like nothing would make me happier than to just [ __ ] with it. You know, I'm I'm apparently not in the know as far as like where mixers and independent mixers get stems from.

[00:42:01]Um, stems, for lack of a better term, are like the raw track. So, like the kick drum, snare, high hat, rack one, rack two, floor tom, bass, guitar one, guitar two, blah blah blah. The stems are the individual multittracks. So when I say the multittrack stems, that's all the raw tracks in the session.

[00:44:35]So track number is beyond important. And that should be the first thing in the in the pattern. So that way when I get stems from people, I I see 01. Oh, that must be the kick drum or track one. And this is across the board with with the EP.

What he could have done was just simply go like, "Oh, never seen you before. You know, we play here all the time and part of our deal is we get a comped meal." To which I would have said, "Okay, my bad." And I would take the check right back, tear it up and say to my manager, "Didn't know."

It was It was I literally squished it and the juices were flowing out. It was perfect. This woman was just being a [ __ ] to be a [ __ ] But I'm like, "All right, let me cook it so good it looks like it's on the menu."

So our chef was literally just go like, "Listen, two of you can fight over to two salads for lunch. Make another make a third one. Send it out." So we make a third one. And I I'm telling you, it was so perfect.

[01:23:06]She sent it back again. The ranch dressing was too tangy.

[01:23:25]So, I go out. I get I I take I take five outside. I keep my head cool because I'm about to storm to this woman's table and and like explode on her.

[01:24:38]And mind you, the salad guy was going through a divorce, too. So this guy was he was not having it with anybody. And I'm like, and I walked right out. The dude into the dressing into the bottom of of the dressing, mixed it with the ranch dressing, sent it out, and all of us, of course, knew what he was doing. We all peeked out of the kitchen and watched this woman Pour the dressing on the salad and gobble it all up.

[01:26:18]So, whenever we spit in people's food, we always hid the spit to make sure they would never see that we actually spit in their food cuz that's that's rookie [ __ ] You got to like make sure that the sauce covers the spit. Mix it up nice so you don't notice the spit in in in the food.

[01:30:40]Um, with jazz, you let the instruments breathe. You let the musicians do their thing and just dial out like the muddiness and like dial out what what you absolutely don't need. And then if the band's good, the instruments just breathe themselves and it just like they sing together. Jazz is all about the the the whole cohesive band in a harmony.

[01:31:03]That's where room mics are going to like really kick it into high gear. Like the room mic needs to capture the whole room and the vibe of the band playing. But yeah, I love jazz and big band stuff.

If I'm up at 5:30 or 6 a.m., it's because I've been up the night before and I'm going to bed. 5:30, 6 a.m. is non-existent to me.

I by the time I got home, I still had to deposit some cash in the bank, take care of grocery errands, and take care of other things.
