Diplomatic negotiations can proceed simultaneously with active military conflict, as demonstrated by the 60-day ceasefire agreement between the US and Iran that extended negotiations on Iran's nuclear program while both sides continued military exchanges, illustrating that diplomatic and military strategies often operate in parallel during international conflicts.

Iran Boasts "TRUMP JUST LOST"... Then Their AIRPORTS ALL EXPLODEAdded:
The Iran ceasefire looks like they're hanging on by a thread as both sides trade attacks with US forces launching a new set of defensive strikes overnight.
>> Good morning. A significant development overnight after Iran launched drones toward a commercial vessel attempting to pass through the straight of Hormuz. A US official tells Fox News that four one-way attack drones posed a threat and were shot down. Then a strike was also conducted against a control station near the city of Bandar Abbas that was about to launch a fifth drone. In response, the Iranians launched a drone and missile attack against Kuwait, targeting a US base there, according to Iran's IRGC. Now, the Kuwaitis confirmed an attack on their territory that did trigger sirens. The exchange of fire comes amid efforts to reach a deal between the United States and Iran.
President Trump spoke from the White House on Wednesday saying he would only accept a great deal and he would not be comfortable with Iran exporting their highlyenriched uranium to China or Russia.
>> No one's comfortable with that.
>> Iran is very much uh intent. They want very much to make a deal. So far they haven't gotten there that we're not satisfied with it. But >> and we will be will be either that or we'll have to just finish the job. And the reason the president's saying that is because this latest back and forth exchange over the last 48 hours has been pretty wild.
>> The US and Iran once again exchanged fire overnight.
The latest exchange started around the straight of Hormuz. Iranian media report Iranian forces first fired warning shots as American ships tried to pass through Hormuz without authorization and that the US military responded with strikes.
An American official described the strikes as self-defense, shooting down multiple Iranian drones threatening American forces. Iran's Revolutionary Guard says it then responded by launching missiles at an American base in the Gulf. This is pretty significant.
Firing a ballistic missile is not part of a ceasefire. That's number one. But look at this. All the attack drones were intercepted and the ballistic missile they sent up was just ABOUT WORTHLESS.
BUT WHAT IS Iran still holding on to that's got them launching attack drones at ships that aren't even a military target?
>> We're also tracking developments in the conflict between Israel and Iran's largest proxy Hezbollah. The IDF launched a series of heavy strikes overnight targeting the southern city of Ty and further north in Sidon. Hezbollah is using fiber optic drones making it difficult for the Israelis to intercept the incoming fire.
>> You can't jam that.
>> And back back here at home the oil prices yesterday went down. both of the major benchmarks which is the uh the one in West Texas the WTI and the Brent crude went down by more than $4.
>> So why would oil be going down if Iran is this mighty force to be reckoned with that everybody should be AFRAID OF? AND WHY IS THEIR MILITARY acting so fractured? We've got people who just a few days ago tried to lay some mines in this trade of war moves. We've got attack drones being sent after ships that were quote unquote unauthorized while there's negotiation taking place.
So, it's almost like the people at the top are trying to get something done with the president, but they have people under them that still don't want to give up for some reason.
>> The oil price surge, they say, according to the White House, is temporary. So, be patient. Here's the Treasury Secretary Scott.
>> Okay, temporary oil. In terms of prices, I believe the prices are transitory. Oil will be lower than pre-conlict levels when this natural gas is already down.
As you me mentioned drug and pharmaceutical prices they are plummeting and rent is down.
>> Okay.
>> We are more resilient to energy price fluctuations due to your energy dominance agenda deregulatory efforts and we have never sold so much energy to the rest of the world. So, the president um is acknowledging the pain that some Americans are are feeling um and he realized that it may have some impact on the midterms, >> but he feels very strongly about not blinking when it comes to this because that's what Iran has essentially uh >> ah the midterms. I'm glad they brought that up because we've got these oil prices which people in the Trump administration say are temporary right on schedule. We're supposed to believe that the midterms are over and that Trump is already lost and that a vast majority of people are never going to support TRUMP AGAIN. BUT WHY WOULD THE PRESIDENT say that he's not worried about the midterms unless he knows something about how soon this conflict is going to end that the rest of us don't >> strategy to end the war in Iran?
>> They thought they were going to outweight me. You know, we'll outweight him. He's got the midterms. I don't care about the midterms. Look what happened last night. That was the prelude to the midterms. People understand it. SO TRUMP SAYS HE'S NOT WORRIED ABOUT THE MIDTERMS AND HE WOULD BE WORRIED if this was a situation that was really totally out of control spiraling where the president's just looking for a way out. AND PERHAPS THIS IS WHAT THE PRESIDENT KNEW when he said that the other day. This just came in the ceasefire.
>> We can now confirm that the US and Iranian negotiators have reached an agreement on a 60day memorandum of understanding to extend the ceasefire and launch larger negotiations on Iran's nuclear program.
>> 60 days. This is significant.
>> Yeah, this is sources are telling us that it is now awaiting Trump's final approval. And the signing of this agreement would be the most significant breakthrough since the war started. But >> well, I guess we know why the president's not worried about the midterms. I guess we know why everybody in the in the administration was saying the oil prices weren't going to stay UP FOREVER. BUT WHAT DOES this mean? Does this mean Iran has surrendered or are they still trying to fight this out? And what about their underlings who are LAUNCHING THESE ATTACKS? agreement that addresses Trump's nuclear demands would still require further talk. So, this is a memorandum of understanding. It's significant. And Harris, I spoke to a senior administration official at length Sunday and they were emphatic saying no dust, no deal. If they reach this, you would think that there is a deal on the dust, the enriched uranium.
>> Well, I don't know because what you just said, and by the way, Axios had this a couple of hours ago and I don't know how many other networks I still hadn't really seen it break. We all needed to confirm this for ourselves. And so now that Fox has done that, we're talking about it in more detail now. But I don't know if it if it deals with the uranium that's been enriched and whether or not we take it out of that country, leave it in the ground. What kind of a deal would be worked around? The president has said that if we don't deal with that aspect, then it's not a good deal for the United States. What this to me is about is that straight of hormone moves. I mean that's that >> this is about getting the global energy markets moving again for our recalcitrant allies who have done very little to keep their own economies chugging along while this whole thing has gone on. There should have been a 1990s desert storm coalition to get this thing open. But there was no coalition.
The coalition was the United States and Israel and the Gulf allies and that's it. But now it looks like oil prices are going to go in THE DIRECTION EVERYBODY WANTS JUST IN TIME FOR THE MIDTERM elections that Trump apparently has lost. >> What this is telling me, and because it's a 60-day ceasefire and we're, you know, we're not that far into this one, >> right? We're about 55 days or so into this one. So, it's almost doubling the time that anybody might have thought we would have done it. And this is about money and resources. They had to open up their internet a couple of days ago in Iran. They did crushed economically.
They do a lot of commerce. Well, all of our countries do online. They weren't able to do that. That was not, by the way, for giving the citizenry more freedom on the internet. No, they can't move anything out of their Iranian ports because of the US blockade. So, they got to try to do business a different way.
And Marcus, I see you nodding at me.
This comes down to money and we're taking that real live look of ships that are waiting to kind of get through the straight of Hormuz. What that?
>> So, uh, she makes a very good point.
Every move the Iranian regime is making is to just try and keep itself alive while it goes through this negotiation.
That's why they want to have internet.
They want their own people to be making money as their economy has experienced mass layoffs and as things have just gone through the roof as far as inflation's concerned. You think inflation's bad in the US? It's very bad over there. But what do the people who've been studying this constantly think is going to come of another 60 days of >> look like if this loosens up oil?
Remember UAE just pulled out of OPEC and OPEC plus >> they could flood the market with some oil. We know that we are able to um process uh the crude, the tough crude coming out of Venezuela. Our ports are ready to go along the Gulf Coast. this could be a huge impact in the oil industry, bring down prices pretty quickly and flood the market with oil. I think it's it's really interesting.
>> I don't know though. They just tried to hit one of our bases in Kuwait and Kuwait had to like intercept that Iranian missile.
>> What I think we've got happening here is what everyone has been saying for a long time. On day one of Epic Fury, what happened? The command and control structure of this regime was taken out.
So, their military became fractured in a sense. You had all of these different factions which were spread off across different areas of the country that were just kind of doing their own thing, launching attacks against whoever they wanted to. These are people that used to call and ask HQ what to do. And now when they call, nobody answers the phone.
Everyone's kind of left to their own devices. And when you hear about a random mine laying ship that wants to go out and put some mines in the straight that ends up getting caught by the US Navy, understand that the people on that ship, that may have been something they unilaterally decided to do, just like this attack on a US base. That's not something a negotiator who's trying to come out of this with a peaceful solution is going to put forth. Why would the president be saying this entire time that he's negotiating with people who are better and smarter, as he puts it, than the former people they were NEGOTIATING WITH? WHY WOULD he put so much faith in these negotiations if nothing's coming of it? Something's happening here. And it's about to be the one thing that might actually guarantee victory in the midterms for Trump and the Republicans.
>> We have a deal on the nuclear stockpile.
We have a deal on the straight of Hormuz, but we are negotiating language.
There's not a deal until there is a deal. And they said it'd be five, six, or seven days. This tracks with that, and it would be monumental.
>> It tracks with it, but it's still not a deal yet. And I think that's important.
And when you look at one thing that I always want to remind everybody, we went to Iran because we have a zero tolerance policy for nuclear weapons.
>> But we are at a point where the economic crisis is starting to brew a little bit.
Inflation came out this morning at 3.2, 2 3.3. That's problematic. Energy seems to be stabilizing a little bit. Oil dropped a little bit this morning. But when you look at what that straight does to boats, to baskets, to balance sheets, to a lot of different things, consumers are starting to really feel it. And in the summer, we know that oil prices go a lot higher just cuz demand is a lot higher.
>> I think this is a perfect balance of we don't need to blow people up. We need to get money flowing and we need a period of time to negotiate how that's going to work. I think this is classic textbook Trump negotiation.
>> You know, and a lot can happen in 60 days. WE >> THAT'S FOR SURE. BUT THIS LINES UP WITH EVERY STATEMENT WE'VE GOTTEN OVER THE last two to three weeks. That we're close to a deal, that they want to make a deal, that oil prices are not going to stay up here forever, that this is all going to change. It's transient. It's not going to persist. That's what we've been told. And what did everybody say?
They said, "Nope. Trump's getting played by Iran. Iran's got the upper hand. They got missiles all over the place. Look at this. Iran allegedly has a huge missile arsenal that they just discovered, which if they really have that and this is really happening, well, uh I don't know why they would negotiate. Look, this says the US is lying about decimating their nuclear capabilities. It almost looks like people were talking about stuff that they didn't fully understand.
But now the question is what will happen over the next 60 days? Are we going to see more peace, more volatility? Are ships going to move in and out of the street? Will there be sanctions relief?
That's one thing a lot of people don't want to see happen until there's a deal.
>> Yesterday, I thought it was very interesting when he said, and it was a message to both the Iranians in charge of their government right now and Americans saying they think they're putting pressure on me with the midterms. No, I feel like this is not just a legacy building moment for President Trump. It's more than that. It is about international security. So it's not just about, you know, another election cycle. It's about our children and our children's children >> and and our overall safety. So we do away details on what this deal actually means and what is actually being reached. But just from a 30,000 foot view here, you know, there's this constant narrative and I see it every single day that Iranians the Iranians have somehow have the upper hand here when they have absolutely no leadership class. Their navy is at the bottom of the street of Hormuz. They have no air force minus some, you know, small drones that they can use and that's basically their attack force right now. Uh and and the internet being turned on has given us another level of insight into the fact that the Iranian government is also facing internal pressure. Remember that part of this whole uh war was started and and at the beginning of it, we were thinking that maybe the Iranian people could rise up and take things over themselves. I don't know if that's going to happen, but it's certainly not off the table. If you read some of the messages saying that they feel like prisoners, that they are deeply upset.
>> I think the people of that country are waiting for the right moment. They can't do anything if every single day getting food is a challenge. They can't do anything if every single day getting water is a challenge. But once things start to loosen up, the situation on the ground might change. The people may have what they had when we saw those riots in places like the capital before Epic Fury started. There were scenes of people all over the place. That's not a population that was starving. That was a population that had energy. They may just be totally burnt out now and they might just be waiting to get back on their own feet before they do something else. But the fascinating thing about all of this is that there have been two competing narratives this entire time. One is that Iran's winning and that they are now stronger than they've ever been. And the other narrative is that they're not winning. They're weaker than they've ever been and they really want to make a deal. And that is the narrative that seems to be playing out ahead of us.
There is no looking back on the president's statements about this and seeing that he was wrong about anything.
He has been telling us the truth. He's been saying that they want to make a deal. He's been saying we're trying to negotiate with people. He's been saying they're fractured. They've got to get it together. All of those things have been true. And it looks like we are headed in a direction, a peaceful direction on this. A peaceful direction that will end this thing and get this straight of war moves open while removing the militant threat that Iran has been to the entire world. What do you think about that?
I'll see you in the next video.
