Rabbi Nachman of Breslov's Story of The Lost Princess

[00:00:03]Shalom. This is Ley Shore. Welcome back to Swing Good Torah. So, I've been wanting to share this for a while. We're going to go and learn the story, Rabbi Nakman of Brezlo, story of the lost princess. And it's the perfect time to learn the story because it's very tied in to the upcoming holiday of Tishb. And the lost princess is talking about the Shahina being lost in exile with the Jewish people. And we want to restore uh the lost princess to her, you know, to her castle. And that is the rightful place in the koshkaim, the holy of the holies in the temple on the temple mount in Jerusalem. So tishab is the holiday where we fast and we're mourning over the destruction of the first and second temple. And we're hoping, you know, through our tears on tishab to, you know, bring there's an idea in a karaba, the messiah is born on on tishab out of the longing of the Jewish people to restore the shikina to the temple, restore hashem's presence, the temple in Jerusalem. And there's also another interesting aspect that the lost princess is everyone's it's, you know, looking for your your soulmate, looking for your lost princess. And that's a very interesting connection that the tishab is on the 9th of A. And then there's another holiday tuba which is on the 15th of A. And this traditionally was a day where it would be shook where husbands would meet their wives. So there's an aspect of restoring the lost princess. All right. So let me bring it up on the screen here. I'm going to do a follow-up video and then we'll go through the deep cobalistic secrets of the story. But I just want to read you guys the story today. So this is The Lost Princess by Rabbi Nakman of Brezlo. And the Rebi spoke up and he said, "While on my journey, I I told a story and whoever heard of it thought of Tshoua, thought of returning to Hashem.

[00:02:00]There was once a king who had six sons and one daughter." So this refers to the seven lower Sapphiros.

[00:02:07]So the the six higher saphiros are was traditionally called um zerpin tis or the prince and then the lowest the seventh saphira is malus which is the princess. So he has six sons and one daughter. The king of course is hashem.

[00:02:24]So the daughter was very precious to him and he loved her and this also is the aspect of the shikina and the shikina going to exile with the Jewish people.

[00:02:34]So he the king he loved her very much and he spent much time with her and one day he was alone of her on a certain day and he became angry at her and he inadvertently said may the evil one take you away. So this is referring like to the Satan like the Yates Sahara, the Kipos, the the dark spiritual forces and at night she went into her room and in the morning no one knew where she was and her father was very upset and he went here and there looking for her. So the vice roy realized that the king was very upset. So this is the second to the king and this is going to represent Messiah.

[00:03:14]And he stood and he asked the king to give him a servant, a horse and I think money and some money for expenses and he went to search for her.

[00:03:26]He searched for her very much for a very long time until he found her. And now he's going to talk about the search of how he found the lost princess. So the voice, he traveled back and forth for a long time through deserts, fields, and forests. He searched for the princess for a very long time. Finally, while traveling through the desert, he saw a path to the side. He thought it over.

[00:03:50]Since I've traveled for so long in the desert and cannot find her, let me follow this path. Perhaps it will bring me to inhabited area. He continued traveling for a long time until finally he saw a castle. Many soldiers stood many soldiers stood around it and the castle was beautiful and the troops around it were standing in a fine order.

[00:04:15]So they're standing in a military discipline and the viceroy was afraid that the soldiers would not let him enter. But he fought it over and he said to himself, "I will go ahead and see what happens." he left behind his horse.

[00:04:30]So it's interesting. So Rabbi Arya Kaplan, he gives um commentary on the story. So I'll give you a slight hint here. The the uh horse is the physical body. So this means it's a spiritual journey with just the nama just the soul and he went to the castle. So through a deep meditative state going into higher spiritual worlds and when we when I do the next video of all the secrets, we'll go into this more. So the soldiers let him come in doing nothing to stop him.

[00:04:59]He went from room to room without being challenged. Finally he came to the main hall. He saw the king sitting there with a crown on his head. There were also many soldiers as well as musicians with their instruments in front of them. It was all very pleasant and beautiful.

[00:05:15]Neither the king nor anyone else asked him any questions. He saw delicacies like gourmet food and there and he ate.

[00:05:24]And then he went to lie down in a corner to see what would happen. So to free the princess, you had to be in a spiritually elevated state. And then when he eats the gourmet food, now it's the desires and the t is getting pulled back into the physical world and he can't rescue the princess. So it's teaching us like one of the main things we have to do right now is we have to fight, you know, against like the physical desires that are leading us away from growing spiritually, right? the negative physical desires and we're using the physical desires to elevate ourselves like for instance making kdish with wine on shabas then it's a mitzvah we elevate the wine or eating a beautiful meal on shabas or not eating not eating fasting on tishbah this also has great spiritual you know elevation to it so he saw the king issue a command to bring the queen so people went to fetch her was a great uproar as they brought forth the queen and the orchestra played and the choir sang.

[00:06:23]People set up a throne for the queen and sat her next to the king. So the queen, she was the lost princess. As soon as the viceroy saw her, he recognized her.

[00:06:33]The queen looked around, seeing someone lying in the corner, recognized him. She stood up from her throne and went over and touched him. "Do you know me?" she asked. "Yes," he replied. "I know you.

[00:06:43]You were the king's daughter who was lost." He then asked her, "How did you get here?" She replied, "It happened when my father said that the evil one should take me. This is the place of evil." So this was really So this is the the the negative spiritual forces. This is the the palace of the satan is the negative forces of the kipos and they're trapping the infinite light, Hashem's infinite light. And our goal is to release this, you know. So the world is is lit with the infinite light and the wisdom of the Torah.

[00:07:17]>> [cough and clears throat] >> So he told her that her father was very upset, was grieving, was mourning for her and had tried to find her for many years. How can I get you out of here? He asked.

[00:07:32]She said, "It's impossible to get me out unless you choose yourself a place and remain there for an entire year. All that year, you must long to get me out.

[00:07:43]where whenever you are unoccupied, you must only yearn, seek and look forward to freeing me. You must also fast. Then on the last day of the year, you must fast and go without sleep for the entire 24-hour period. The viceroy went and did exactly what she told him.

[00:08:03]On the last day, at the end of the year, he fasted and did not sleep. Then he stood up and was headed towards the castle and he saw a tree with very very beautiful apples. It was desirable to the eyes and he ate an apple. As soon as he ate the apple, he immediately fell asleep and he slept for a very long time. So this is talking about the garden of Eden, right? Where we wanted to free the princess, you know, for all mankind. And then unfortunately we ate from Adamava, Adam and Eve. They ate from the eight das to the tree of knowledge of good and evil. So his servant tried to wake him up but could not. So when he finally woke up, he asked the servant, "Where in the world am I and the servant told him exactly what had happened. You slept for a very long time." Now the servant I think is the the soul is our intellect, right?

[00:08:53]And that's guiding us. It's what we need to uh you know learn the Torah, do the mitzvah and rescue like the shikina, return the shikina to the temple. So the servant told him exactly what had happened. you slept for a very long time. And we're asleep in this this exile, right? We're we're we're we get asleep and we start assimilating into the the nations that we're exiled to and we have to wake up and remember who we are. Remember the greatness of the Jewish people that we're Hashem's people. We have the holy Torah. You know, we're supposed to be leading the world, not following in all the frivolities of the world. So ser said, "You slept for a very long time. For many years I survived by eating this fruit." So the viceroy was very upset.

[00:09:35]He went to the castle and found the princess and she lamented to him if you had come directly on that day you would have freed me from here but because of one day you lost everything but is very difficult not to eat especially on the last day and I believe this is talking about Roshashana so it's the last day of the old year the first day of the new year when the evil impulse the gates ofahara is very strong now find yourself a place again and remain there for another year this time you permitted to eat on the last day, but you may not sleep. Do not drink any wine on that day so that you will not fall asleep. The main thing is to avoid sleeping. So the viceroy went and did as she has instructed him. [00:10:43]So, this represents our first exile and the four exiles of the four empires. And this is the Babylonian exile which lasted for 70 years. And we like we were asleep through that exile. So then when we redeem then we wake up when it's the ghoul we wake back up. So meanwhile many soldiers pass by along with their baggage trains with their equipment and the servant hid himself because of the soldier. Then a chariot and carriages passed by carrying the princess. She stopped there next to the viceroy and descended sitting next to him. She recognized him and tried very hard to wake him up but could not be awakened. She then began to complain to him. He had spent so much effort and great toil for many years to free her. But then on the very day that he would have been able to free her, the opportunity was lost. She cried very much. It's a very great pity both upon him and upon me. I've been here for such a very long time. I cannot leave." She then took the kirchief from her head and rode on it with her tears, leaving it next to him. She then got up, sat in her chariot, and left. When the viceroy woke up, he asked the servant, "Where in the world am I?" The servant told him everything that had happened. He told him that many troops had passed by, and that a chariot had come. The woman had wept over him, cried over him, and had lamented that it is a great pity both on him and on her. The viceroy then noticed the kirkchef lying next to him. "Where did this come from?" he asked. The servant replied that the woman had written on it with tears. The viceroy took it and held it up to the son. He began to see the letters and could read what was written on it. It contained all her lamentations and grief. He also read that she was no longer in the castle. He must now search for a golden mountain and a pearl castle, a castle made out of pearl, and there you will find me.

[00:12:46]The viceroy left his servant behind and went alone to find her. He traveled for many years. He concluded that he certainly would not find a golden mountain and a pearl castle. So the golden mountain is Mount Maria. This is in Jerusalem, the temple mount. And the pearl castle is the base of Mikdash, which is made of beautiful white stone called Levanon. And in the prophecy of Yakco of Ezekiel, we see that the third temple is going to be made of precious all kinds of gold and silver and precious gems. So, it's going to be the most beautiful building that mankind's ever seen. So, it says he he concluded that he would certainly not find a golden mountain and a pearl castle in any civilized area.

[00:13:29]So, since he was an expert in the geography of the world, therefore, he said, "I will go into the deserts." He searched for her for many years in the deserts. Finally, he met a huge man, a giant.

[00:13:40]And he was such a huge giant that he could not be considered human.

[00:13:45]He was carrying an immense tree. In civilized areas, such a large tree would never be found. "Who are you?" asked the stranger. "I am a human being," he replied. "I've been in the desert for many years now," said the giant in amazement. "I never saw a human being here before." The vice told him the entire story and said that he was looking for a golden mountain in a pearl castle. The giant said that he was certain that no such thing existed. He discouraged the viceroy and told him that he had been convinced by foolish tales.

[00:14:20]Certainly no such place existed. The viceroy began to weep very bitterly. He was certain that it must exist someplace. Even though this giant was discouraging him and saying that people had obviously told him foolish tales. I mean it's interesting. It's always like you just heard conspiracy theories. It's not the truth. The viceroy insisted it certainly does exist. The giant said to him, "In my opinion is mere foolishness.

[00:14:46]But since you are so stubborn, I will do something for you. I am in charge of all the animals. I will summon them all together." The animals run all over the world. Perhaps one of them knows something about this mountain and castle. He summoned all types of animals, large and small, and asked them. They all replied that they had not seen anything like that. So he said to the viceroy, "See, people have told you foolish stories. Listen to me and go home. It is certain that you will not find it. It simply does not exist." So the viceroy continued to press him and said, "But it must exist. Definitely."

[00:15:25]The giant said, "My brother also lives here in the desert. He is in charge of all the birds. Maybe they know something. They fly high in the air and it's possible that they have seen such a mountain and castle. Go to him and tell him that I sent you. The viceroid traveled many, many years searching for him until he finally found him. He encountered another huge giant just like the first one, and he was also carrying an immense tree. This giant asked the same questions as his brother had, and the viceroy replied telling him the entire story and how his brother had sent him here. The second giant also discouraged him, saying, "This is obviously something that does not exist." But the viceroy pressed his convictions to him, too. The giant said to him, "I am in charge of all the birds. I will summon them. Perhaps they know." He called all the birds, large and small, and asked every one of them.

[00:16:21]And they all replied that they did not know of any such mountain or castle. The giant said to him, "Don't you see that it certainly does not exist anywhere in the world? listen to me and go home.

[00:16:32]Obviously, no such thing exists. The viceroy pressed him and said, "But it certainly does exist somewhere in the world." The giant said to him, "Further on in the desert, you will find my brother who was in charge of all the winds. They fly all over the world.

[00:16:48]Perhaps they will know." The viceroy traveled for many years searching and finally found another giant like the first ones. This giant was also carrying a huge tree. He asked similar questions and the viceroy answered telling the entire story. This giant also tried to discourage him but the viceroy pressed his case on him also. The giant told him that he would assemble all the winds for his sake and he would ask them and he summoned them and all the winds came and he asked them but no not one of them knew anything about the mountain or the castle. The giant said to him, "Don't you see that people have told you foolish tales? The viceroy began to cry very bitterly. "I know for certain that it does exist," he said. Just then he saw another wind come. The giant was very angry at it. "Why did you take so long to come?" he demanded. "I decreed for all the winds to come. Why didn't you come with them?" The wind replied, "I was detained because I had to carry a royal princess to a gold mountain and inside a pearl castle." And the viceroy was very happy. The giant asked the wind, "What things are valuable there?

[00:17:56]Everything is valuable there, replied the whim. The one in charge of the wind said to the viceroy, "You have been seeking the princess for such a long time, and you have expanded so much effort. You may have difficulty because of a lack of money. I am therefore giving you a purse wherever whenever you put your hand into it, you will find money there." The giant then issued an order that this wind carry the viceroy there. that storm the storm whale came and carried him to that place bring him right to the gate. There were soldiers there who would not let him enter the city. But he put his hand into the purse and took some money. He was then able to bribe them and enter the city. The city was very beautiful. He went to a wealthy person and bought food from him. He would have to remain there a while since he would have to use his intelligence and wisdom to devise a plan to free the princess. The Rebi did not tell how he freed her but in the end he did free her. So this is the whole secret of how Messiah is going to redeem the world and Rebean left it as a cliffhanger. But bizarre, God willing, it seems like we are living in very special times and we may get to see how this whole story unfolds and how Messiah rescues the lost princess who's the Shikina and returns her right to the holy of the holies in the temple of Jerusalem.
