Well, as expected, we're seeing those showers and thunderstorms for parts of Northern California. They started off pretty intense in southeastern Oregon where there have been several severe thunderstorm warnings in those areas.

[00:00:51]And of course, now that has made its way across the state line into northern California and parts of Syscue County, particular northeastern Syscue County under some severe thunderstorm warnings as I'm recording it recording this shortly after 5:00. All of this activity is, as you can see, moving to the south and west. And we will continue to see that potential for some pretty strong thunderstorms. And you can see plenty of lightning strikes, wind gusts upwards of 60 mph plus, and hail. There have been reports of accumulating hail on some of the highways up there in northern Syscue and even into southeastern Oregon as well. So quite an intense series of storms kind of heading mo and moving to the south and west. This is our Divine Sky Cam in Reading looking to the north toward those storms. You can certainly see the ominous looking clouds way off in the distance. But now we take you off into Syscue County. This is our Lwood Ranch Lake Shastina um sky cam here. And of course, this is out at the Lake Chestina Resort, Golf Resort. You can see this is looking in the direction of the storm as it's moving toward the camera. So, moving to the south and west. And you can see those dark clouds and off the distance, you can see the streaks coming from the clouds and of course that heavier rainfall. This is on the coast and this is what it's been like pretty much through the afternoon. mainly clear skies. So quite a different story just depending on where you are in Northern California. All right, let's take a look at your Krueger's quickcast for your Wednesday, May 27th. All right, so for tonight, I am expecting more showers, possible thunderstorms in some of the mountain locations. Even the valley could see some of that as well. And then as we take you out the door for tomorrow morning, I don't expect a ton of rainfall out there, but there will be a chances for some showers out towards some of the eastern mountains and maybe some fog in some of those mountain valleys as well.

[00:02:43]But it is going to of course increase.

[00:02:46]The chances for showers and thunderstorms will increase again through the day tomorrow as that area of low pressure continues to rotate and spin and these storm systems kind of rotate around the area of low pressure giving us that rain. Again, you can clearly see the movement of the rain to the south and west around the main area of low pressure. So, we can't rule out some of these stronger thunderstorms to work their way into central and central Syscue County and into northern parts of say Shasta County and Trinity County as well. So, we'll have to continue to monitor these here as we do go into the evening hours. You can always check the latest on the free weather app and trap the storms there as well. All right. So there you can see HR forecast model.

[00:03:30]This what it does. It takes the current radar and the current data every hour and then projects what it will do. Now the overall intensity I think it's overdoing it, but as we saw there are those severe thunderstorms. So that's pretty much what it's picking up on. So as you can see as we go through the evening, it is going to skirt the north end of the valley and then the west side of the valley as well. And we'll see some of that heavier rainfall working its way through Trinity County and parts of Humble County as well. That main band that's now over Syscue County will be down to our south by the time we get into about 10:00 and midnight tonight.

[00:04:05]But still, as you can see, some more leftover activity into the overnight hours. And this is really pretty much in alignment with what the Storm Prediction Center had put out. The darker shade of green is in that marginal risk of severe weather. And we certainly have seen severe weather in those areas or darker areas of green. And of course the lighter areas of green is just kind of the the general chances for thunderstorms. So we look at your Thursday. Yeah, we got more thunderstorms in the forecast. Still another cool day even in the valley with temperatures only reaching somewhere in the mid70s for your daytime highs. We take a look at your 7-day outlook for the valley. Temperatures slowly increasing and drying out. So as you can see by Friday, mainly dry. Saturday, Sunday, dry and then back in the 90s by early next week. Looks like for the coast, dry by Friday as well as the inland areas. Trinity County, I'm still keeping a slight chance for a stray shower for you on Friday, otherwise dry by the weekend. Now, what we've got here is a bit of a lull in the activity on Friday. We're not going to see much activity, but we I don't want to rule out especially eastern Syscue County, Modoc County, and Lassen County a chance for a thunderstorm or two uh for Saturday afternoon. But then by Sunday going into Monday, things will start to warm up and of course dry out as well.

[00:05:22]So cooler and unsettled through Friday.

[00:05:24]Showers and thunderstorm chances across the board once again for your Thursday in particular, but it will be wrapping up by the weekend. Drier and warmer by the weekend and especially for next week. So let's get into that deeper dive forecast, shall we? And we're going to start off with that satellite image here. And that area of low pressure, as you can see here, it is kind of rotating around the main area. So, there's an upper area of low pressure right about here. And all of the activity, as you can see, is just rotating around the area of low pressure. And that's what's responsible for the activity that we've seen today. And we'll see again here for tomorrow. But eventually, this area of low pressure will shift off to the north and east. But again, not until the end of the week. There's the area of low pressure counterclockwise rotation around that low, bringing in more activity for your Thursday. There it is, scooting off to the north and east by Friday. That's the low in the activity.

[00:06:17]But you see how there's still a chance for a few stray sprinkles, light showers on Friday. Uh and then the European forecast model backing down a bit, but there is a potential, especially for the Sierra and even northern Sierra, Southern Cascades, to maybe see a stray shower, thunderstorm developing on Saturday. We'll keep watching that closely for Saturday. But for now, the weekend, for the most part, we're going to start to dry things out and then we'll really notice it going into early next week as high pressure starts to settle back in. Temperatures warming back up again. So, here's your severe weather outlook for tomorrow. Pretty much all of NorCal has a chance for some showers and thunderstorms through the day tomorrow. But by Friday, I don't expect any thunderstorms, just that chance for a stray sprinkle or a light shower. If we were extend this into Saturday, I would expect to maybe see uh, you know, maybe a little bit of green off towards the north and to the east. So, we'll kind of have to wait and see what happens with that. But, like I said, overall, I do expect a drier trend, especially for the second half of the weekend. Now, this is futurecast, not HR. This doesn't update every hour, but it does update every 6 hours or so.

[00:07:23]This again I think is overdoing it on the overall intensity. But what it is picking up on is the chance for those thunderstorms especially by later this evening kind of kicking itself off to the east and then it kind of works its way into parts of the north coast by tonight. So looking at some showers there but you see how it breaks apart, loses some of its intensity as it does kind of move off to the west a little bit but still a chance for a stray shower maybe even an isolated thunderstorm here for tonight. Then by tomorrow morning, a lull in the activity, but then we're going to see more of this energy working its way from the northeast, working its way southwest. Chance for showers, chance for thunderstorms, chance for heavy downpours, gusty winds, hail, lightning, the works. These are all things we'll have to watch. And, you know, maybe a brief spin up as well. That's not of the question. Maybe a funnel cloud, right?

[00:08:14]Or or weak tornado. We can't rule that out either. Then we go into midnight, Thursday night into Friday morning.

[00:08:20]There is that next batch of rain kind of pushing off to the east. Friday, there it is. We're just looking at partly to mostly cloudy skies. And the chances for showers are very slim, but if you see a stray sprinkle or a light shower across the board, coast, inland, mountains, even the valley, it's not out of the question, but it is a bit of a lull in that activity. And then on Saturday is what I was talking about. You see that Plumis, Lassen, but I'd expect that even parts of eastern Syscue, Modoc County in northeastern Shasta County could see a stray shower or thunderstorm Saturday afternoon. Then by Sunday, it's done, right? Sunday afternoon, you can see the afternoon clouds, but we're not expecting any rain for anyone on Sunday.

[00:09:04]And that is when they should finally be over, right? We take a look at the rainfall estimates. It keeps changing run model run by model run. But I would expect that once all is said and done, there are some spots in the valley again through to the rest of tonight and tomorrow and even into Saturday. I'd say the valley could pick up if you get a caught under a straight shower or or straight thunderstorm that is maybe a quarter of an inch of rainfall in some spots here, but most likely not much more than that. The main footprint though is going to be in the higher elevations. And believe it or not, where we're seeing the least amount of rainfall looks to be along the coast.

[00:09:42]Ain't that interesting? But that's just because of the flow around that area of low pressure. Snow. Yeah, a little bit of snow kind of picking up there on the summit of Mount Shasta, a little bit on the Warner Mountains. You can see a little bit in the Sierra, but we're kind of getting that where that's going to be behind us as well. Temperatures are eventually increasing, too. You see, we're back in the 90s by early next week, even some upper 90s by next Wednesday. So, yeah, don't get too used to these cooler temperatures. They're not going to last forever. Uh, so looking at the 7-day forecast, slight chance for showers Friday and then dry for the weekend and then dry going through next week. And of course, warmer conditions as well for the North Coast.

[00:10:24]Uh, Friday, I've got you dry. It should stay dry through the weekend as well and going into early next week. And then for the inland areas, I've also got you dry by Friday. still a chance for a few straight showers and thunderstorms for your Thursday. I mean, that's pretty much the case across the board. Now, again, for Syscue County, I would say that by the time we get into Saturday, it's going to be mainly say Mount Shasta eastward that may still have that potential for a popup shower or thunderstorm on Saturday. Otherwise, it will be dry for the weekend and warmer going into Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.

[00:10:54]For Modoc County, chance for showers and thunderstorms tomorrow, stray sprinkler light shower Friday. So basically alone in the activity and then another slight chance for a pop-up shower or thunderstorm on Saturday, drying out and warming up for next week. Same exact story for the eastern mountains that I just mentioned for Modoc County. Uh and then you can see as we go into uh early next week, we're back into the low to mid 80s. Now for the valley to the south, temperatures in the mid to upper 70s. Uh warming up in the 90s by early next week. You see that on the 7-day forecast for Chico. We're back in the low to mid 90s Monday, Tuesday, upper 90s by the time we get into Wednesday of next week. 75 for Reading, Redluff about 76, 75 degrees in Palisro. And there you can see Lake a high of about 68 degrees.

[00:11:42]Temperatures in the 80s by the weekend, 90s by next week, and of course, upper 90s by next Wednesday. All right, I'll keep you updated here throughout the evening. If need be, I will break into uh the 24 hours channel and of course break in and give you any uh severe thunderstorm updates or if there's anything that we need to be concerned about.
