Tesla’s FSD 14.3.2 proves that even the most advanced neural networks can still look like a confused student in a simple parking lot. It’s a humbling reality check for those who mistake high-tech hype for actual functional intelligence.

Tesla FSD 14.3.2: Parking Test - Hot Mess!Added:
Hello. Today we are testing out Tesla FSD 14.3.2.
First of all, a shout out to all my subscribers. Got a lot of new ones with the robo taxi video. Really appreciate it. And if you like robo taxi, Tesla or FSD content, please subscribe.
All right, so we are doing the parking test and we are starting right now. 0.1 miles. We're going to make a turn going to Einstein's Bagels.
I've done this test on maybe five times.
Um, starting with V14, which is the first, um, you know, the first update that really did parking. Uh, V13 did not do any kind of parking. So, there's Einstein right there. Whoa.
Um, wow. Well, not off to a very good start here.
Not off to a good start at all. It wanted to turn into this um business that had a gate. It It missed the turn. So, already having some fun here. Um it's been some mixed reviews on whether this is better with parking. It seems like some people say it's a lot better and some people say it's a little worse than 14.2.2.5.
Um, just kind of missed it there. I don't know why it missed that turn.
My eyes see it pretty clearly. I guess it just uh it just didn't. So anyway, oh, and we're going to do a U-turn.
It's really bizarre because um Einstein's right here and it's doing the same thing. So, we're going to get into an infinite loop here.
I want to let it do it a couple times.
Never had an issue uh with this. This is the biggest issue I've had with parking on any FSD version that I've tested. um in V14.
Let's see if it tries to do it again. If it's just going to do a loop, I'm going to take over um and then kind of force it into the parking lot because I, you know, I'm not going to sit here and uh do this all day. Let's see. Okay, this time it went it did it correctly.
Um so we're going it looks like to the back of the building.
And it's going to try to back in to a street parking spot.
This is like a in the back of the building. It has like parking spots that go this way.
Maybe let's let's zoom in so you can kind of see where we are. These parking spots go that way, but it's backed in this way.
Well, we're going to continue trip.
That's a fail. This is the back of the building. So, you know, if I was, you know, providing products for the store, maybe this would be a good place.
Huge fail.
I was going to next talk about my ABC fail grading system, but I don't think that's necessary now because it's automatic fail because I think a disengagement would be a fail and I haven't disengaged. But that that was bad enough to just make the whole thing a fail. But we'll uh we'll go from here. Maybe uh there's nowhere to go but up.
Yeah. I don't know why why it did that.
Okay. So, now we're going over here across the street to Brookshshire's grocery store. These are basically the same locations that I've done this test with. I think the Einstein's I've either gone from it or the Sun View Cafe, but chose to do Einstein's today.
And it's not super busy. It's in the evening. 7:30 in the evening. I wanted to get out here and this is the only time I'd have to do this is in the evenings this week. So, all right. So, we're coming straight in here. So, the map data has us going to the back of the building.
Uh but it says it's set to parking lot.
So, okay. So, here's a parking spot.
Not too bad. Like to have seen it get a little closer spot, but you know, uh like I said is only [laughter] it can only get better from that that first um parking basically out in the way in the back of Einstein's Bagels.
So, okay. Okay, the next stop is Walmart and it's always gone behind the building come and come around to the front to park.
So, I'm I really don't have an issue with that. So, we'll see if it does the same thing. It seems to be definitely acting different. There's there's some different stuff happening here in this version for sure.
It is much more um and I've I've seen reports of this. It's It's much more jerky. Um just like small little It's not breaking a lot. It's just It feels like it's just making all kinds of little decisions. You probably can't see that on camera, but it's not as smooth around pedestrians as it's trying to kind of negotiate. It is taking a weird way out, but it's the map data.
It's never taken this way before. This gives it an unprotected left instead of the the traffic light.
It's done the traffic light every other time I've done this test. So, this is the first.
I hope it um hopefully it'll manage this well.
All right. Looks like there's an opening here on the left, but there's also this truck out here.
We're going. Yeah, we're going to go.
Uh, maybe not.
This person behind me is pretty annoyed right now, I think, because they want to turn right. And um it looked like we're going to go out into the middle, but it didn't do it. I'm surprised it didn't go out to the middle. Yeah, here we go.
This is what it should have done a second ago, but it's saw something it didn't like. I can't blame it. It's, you know, you see human drivers do all kinds of crazy stuff, uh, as often as, you know, normal correct stuff. So, it's it's long as it's being safe, I I guess that's okay.
Think I'm just thrown off, guys, by the that first parking job. It just right out of the gates like uh didn't do very well.
Got a chance to ride in the robo taxi two days ago. That was that was Sunday.
Today's Tuesday.
It was great. It worked really well.
Video out on that.
Um, very it was it was pretty cool to ride in my first unsupervised vehicle uh in the passenger seat.
It's amazing how well um they have that that down and and I really think that they have a very detailed uh map upload to that to those cars for that geoence that just just goes along with the model very well so you don't have all the navigation problems. All right. So yeah, we're getting over to the right here.
A little turn in. Yeah, it looks like it's going to The map doesn't have it going around to the back. It has it going around going to the front, which is probably the more normal way. Although I didn't mind the way it went before. It used to just stay right here and go to the back. But this is all map dated differences. It's not the model.
Got parking lot selected.
This is one of the later times I've gotten a U FSD version. I've been fortunate a couple of times to get it.
Every now and then they have a really small wave after the early access wave and I've gotten that a couple of times where I have it for three or four days before just about anyone else does. I think it's quite the opposite this time.
This might have been the last wave today. Um, so there's already a lot of people that have tested it and a lot of videos out there. But okay, so we're at Walmart.
See where it decides to turn to park.
It's so weird how it just fall because it says the map data wants it to go to the all the way just just another 100 ft and it seems to be following that. Okay.
So, it's just considering this door um the drop for for Walmart. So, it didn't want to I would have turned in one of those places back there. There's actually more parking available, but I didn't see that.
Um, it's trying to back. I don't know what it's doing. I'm having I'm going to go ahead and stop because it looked like it was trying to uh back into It was trying to back into a cart return. And what I didn't like is it might have recovered and turned around, but there was somebody else backing up right there, too, trying to get out of the get out of the spot. So, don't know what's happening today. I don't know what's happening with this version. Let's go ahead and keep going.
We're going to a little Mexican restaurant that's just up in the parking lot.
Like I said, some people have said that this version does a much better job parking.
Some people said it's gotten a little worse.
This is worse than the first V14 I've had. Um, the first parking version, it's horrible.
What What are we doing here? It's just It doesn't It's like it's forgotten how to how to park.
I think I mentioned to somebody on on on um on X the other day that I don't think that we're going to see Banish anytime soon.
and they disagreed with me, but there's, in my opinion, there's a 0% chance we see banish this year. And that was with, you know, I thought what I thought would be a better parking. But, you know, you think about it, they've only been training parking lots since V14, which is like this year or uh end of last year. it or it hasn't hasn't even been a year versus driving on the roads. They were they've been training for years and it took them years to to get to unsupervised. How are they going to trust [laughter] a car to go from the front of the store, you push a button and just let it go? Is it then just back into a shopping cart holder?
And the and the answer is they're not that they are so cautious. Um they they want it to be perfect.
So it's going to be a while. It's definitely going to be V15, which I think isn't going to come out till the earliest December, the latest maybe u January, February next year. Okay. So, it found this spot right here. This isn't the the restaurant's on the end, but this this parking lot is full. So, this this is this is actually perfect because I don't think I was worried uh there that we were not going to find a spot at all because it is just completely full. So, this is not this is not bad. I've gotten um some grief in the comments about me saying that parking over there way away from it wasn't bad because I I actually don't mind it. So, I was going to be a little more critical if it did that. But I'm not critical of this cuz I'm literally looking and I don't think there's a parking spot over there. So, the fact that it just found the first available and it looked like it didn't just find it and go immediately. It looked like it evaluated like it might have looked up the road and saw that parking lot's full. I better take this one.
Um, which is a much more intelligent um decision than it's made so far in any of the other parking jobs.
So, the next place is Chili's.
So, we'll see how it does there.
So, we're two for four. Is that right?
Fail at Einstein's Brookers. It It did fine.
Walmart.
Another massive fail.
Salsa's perfect. So yeah, two for four.
If it's baseball, it' be looking pretty good, but it's not baseball.
Good job recognizing um that that was not a three-way stop.
There's a confidence that it has. It reminds me of the robo taxi just in the way that it stops and it keep and it goes. It's a little bit You can definitely tell it's a different model.
It's It's thinking a little quicker.
It's considering more factors. It seems like when it's before it acts right here, it knows that that truck's got the right away. It's good.
I feel like other versions might have creeped and just kind of waited for it to slow down um or to continue before it made that decision, but it didn't even creep. It was just stayed stopped until that truck was completely clear. Okay. So, here's Chili's.
I'm really curious. It's 50/50 whether it's going to be uh good or bad. Okay.
So, we made a quick little snap decision. Oh, just find the per the first spot at C's.
I mean, I give this a B minus. See, I would I would never park here. This is the back of the building.
It's where employees park probably, but it just took the first spot it saw.
There's plenty of parking up there. It did not, in this case, evaluate that there was no parking other places and and then park in the first spot that it saw.
So, okay, let's see what it wants to do here. It's going to go out to the side road of the highway to go down to Home Depot. That's fine.
There's a little road right over here that goes to the Home Depot, but you know, if it wants to come out here, that's fine.
I've mentioned this in the other videos that this area, some of this area is pretty new. Although we've been doing these for a little while now, so it's hard to say that. So, it's definitely probably twice as old as it was when I first said that.
But then again, I don't think we have new map data since then. So, it it may not be aware of that that little road that's uh between Roadhouse and Home Depot there.
So, we want to turn in here. No, let's not turn in in the front of the store.
Feel like this is like a FSD blooper reel. Let's come way over here. That's what the navigation says. I guess it's really bizarre to me how the navigation can just do two different things in the same route, different days.
Okay. So, we're going to go to the back of the store.
So, we just drove past Home Depot.
Some sort of road back here.
Well, we have it set to parking lot.
Okay, you could go into Home Depot there. Didn't want to do that. Okay, now we're here.
Um, we're driving past Home Depot again, taking the scenic route, going around Okay. Well, that was the road to go to Home Depot.
Now we're driving back to Walmart.
You know, the only positive So, this this is back used to when I went to Walmart, it would come back and it go through here. And I remember the first time it parked right here for Walmart, which was not good.
But now it came it d it did a big loop around Home Depot.
At least I haven't had to disengage.
Guess that's positive.
Um, well, we're going to we're going to take this adventure together. Let's see if it can make it back to Home Depot. Home Depot is about quarter mile at least.
Um, quarter mile back the other way.
Says five minutes to get there. I think we've already been driving for at least five minutes.
Um, [snorts] from Chili's.
What was that? I heard a noise.
So, it looks like the map has rerouted us.
I'm going to go around this truck.
Looks like it it's actually a really good job going around this truck. So, it looks like it is actually parking.
Let's uh This person's flashing me to to go on to get out of his way. I had my foot over the gas pedal, but I did not push it.
It actually handled that really well.
And I think the model is there. I think this map data is over the last year.
Well, really since V14 started, it's like the maps are getting worse and worse and worse and um they've added some reasoning to the parking which which not impressed. So, so, so maybe that's So, the reasoning and the map data together are just not there at all. So, we're going to try to go back to Home Depot.
Luckily, I got the car fully charged.
So, I've done this um this drive when I was working from home and I just came out at lunch, you know, and I tried to just stick to it, have a one-hour lunch.
Luckily, uh luckily today is after work, so we got time.
What I was saying earlier is, you know, the good thing is I've only had to uh I've only had to disengage once.
And honestly, it probably wouldn't have hit anything. I think that's what this model's good at. I mean, that would be a great way to get to Home Home Home Depot right there. See, here's the problem is it doesn't know where Home Depot is. It has a P like that P that they talk about, but it's on top of the building.
Okay. So, this time, at least right now, you don't know until it turns, it looks like it's going to try to actually go to Home Depot. Okay. We're going to go around back.
Yeah, it's going to park, I'm sure, in one of these back parking spots in front of a tal front of a pallet of roofing materials.
I've got my foot right here over the brake.
Okay.
All right, we got to Home Depot.
Yeah, I don't know what to say. That was a hot mess.
[sighs] I usually don't get this. I usually uh my attitude is uh not very good right now towards FSD.
This is This is just not very good.
Okay. So, we're going to come out this way.
They shouldn't have released this version.
I mean, there this is this is uh this is not good. I mean, if people are trying this for the first time, um, we're going, by the way, to Texas Roadhouse, which is up there past Home Depot. This is the first time we're actually in the Home Depot parking lot.
If people were trying FSD for the first time and it did this, they would not be impressed and they'd probably never they'd probably say it sucked and wouldn't use they they should not release something that's this bad.
I am looking forward to trying the highway test.
Rumors of good improvement on the highway with this version.
That'll be a welcome uh change.
Think I'll do that test tomorrow on the way home from work.
hopefully get some good footage there will be in my my car. My car actually got this update, too, but it wasn't able to download it until um it's weird that stop signs turned, but it still figured it out with the stop on the road.
So, here we're going to coming to our final stop.
Some pedestrians here.
Okay, we're going to go to the to- go order number two.
This is of course incorrect unless I was coming here to get a to- go order, but it's random.
So, a couple of notes. It seems like whenever it gets to the parking lot it's supposed to be in, it just finds the first spot and goes into it, which is which is cool. The problem is I think there was six places and it only parked correctly. And I mean, I'm calling it correctly.
It just I don't know. I This is not correct obviously, but the uh the Walmart one was a disaster.
I don't know. I don't know what to say, guys. Well, thank you for watching. I'm sorry this was so bad. Uh I've never This is the worst performing FSD video I've ever made. As far as the driving on the way over here to do this test, it was fine.
But um yeah, parking man, it's an absolute absolute disaster. Thank you for watching. We'll see you next time.
We'll get that highway highway test going very soon.
