[00:00:11]Copenhaver is an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ and he expresses his low view of scripture when he writes, "The Bible was not dictated by God. Nevertheless, God's spirit was working within ways in which the narrative took shape at every point.

[00:00:30]However, God's spirit worked through flawed, limited human beings. So, in certain respects, the biblical accounts are flawed and limited. There are historical records in the Bible. Some of them may be accurate, but others may be less accurate. There are eternal truths in the Bible and there are time-bound perspectives that reflect the time and age in which they were written."

[00:01:03]This kind of background should give context to the now viral clip where Bishop Evan Flunder says of the Bible, "Because the Bible has become problematic."

[00:01:16]It's the word of God.' I said, 'No, it's words about God. Come on now.' But is it the word of God? No."

[00:01:23]Since the JEDP theory is present in many mainline denominations, be warned. Be wary. Not all churches teach good things about the Bible and if they teach a low view of the Bible, they're going to teach a low view of God. They're going to teach a low view of Jesus. They're going to downplay his role or your need for salvation.
