[00:00:24]The smell of coal and sulfur is everywhere. My hoodie has already started to turn gray, and I've only been here for 2 minutes. Today I'm going to explore the East End, visit a factory.

[00:00:35]It's so crowded here and a little dirty, but fascinating. You can really see the insane contrast between rich and poor just by looking around here. It's unbelievable. And and I might try to warn some people about what's coming.

[00:01:08]The streets are muddy, there's horse manure everywhere, it's absolutely disgusting.

[00:01:48]Look at this. Women washing clothes in dirty water and kids are playing in the street with almost no shoes on.

[00:02:36]Okay, I'm now standing outside a large textile mill. You can see the smoke and workers behind me.

[00:02:45]The building is enormous and everything is covered in soot.

[00:02:52]Look at all these chimneys pumping out smoke non-stop.

[00:03:04]The machines inside never seem to stop.

[00:03:08]Hundreds of people work here every day.

[00:03:11]They work 12 to 14 hours a day, 6 days a week.

[00:03:24]The conditions here are truly heartbreaking.

[00:03:27]These children, so young, work tirelessly in this brutal industrial setting. This is heartbreaking to see in real life.

[00:03:40]I knew about child labor from history books, but seeing it with my own eyes is completely different.

[00:03:50]These children should be playing, not working in dangerous factories. The air inside is filled with cotton dust and thick smoke. It's truly a sight to behold, though difficult to breathe.

[00:04:11]The noise in there must be unbearable.

[00:04:18]Long hours, dangerous machines, and terrible air quality.

[00:04:22]Many workers won't live long because of this.

[00:04:39]And it feels like we've stepped back in time. Okay, I've walked a few miles west and then wow.

[00:04:50]Just look at this. The environment is changing so fast. I'm so impressed with how clean these streets are. You know, I have to say the streets here are also much cleaner than I expected. Look at this.

[00:05:22]Welcome back everyone. Today we're indulging in some classic Victorian afternoon tea at this absolutely stunning, elegant restaurant. This tea is absolutely lovely. It's the perfect temperature.

[00:05:45]This must be the West End.

[00:05:48]The rich are really benefiting from the factories.

[00:05:54]The gap between rich and poor is much more extreme than I imagined.

[00:06:01]The wealthy are living in luxury while workers suffer on the other side of the city.

[00:06:09]I'm standing near some workers finishing their long shift.

[00:06:14]I'm going to try something.

[00:06:17]I know I probably can't change history, but I still have to try.

[00:06:28]Excuse me. I know this is going to sound completely crazy, but in the future, this coal smoke and pollution will make a lot of people very sick.

[00:06:41]And children shouldn't have to work in dangerous factories like this.
