[00:01:30]The Italian Prime Minister said the country wants to further strengthen trade ties with India.

[00:01:38]Today here in Rome we are further strengthening our relation all the way up to the special strategic partnership the highest ever reached in the relations between our two nations.

[00:01:50]So, I think it's safe to say that now Italy and India are closer than they have ever been.

[00:01:57]Our relations uh are now uh capable of expressing uh their fullest potential.

[00:02:08]The leader said Italy aims to raise bilateral trade to 22 billion euros by 2029 from the current 14 billion euros.

[00:02:21]While stressing the importance of the proposed India EU free trade agreement in achieving the target, India and Italy also exchanged multiple MOUs in presence of Prime Minister Modi and the Italian Prime Minister. Following the MOU exchange, the two leaders also planted a sapling.

[00:02:38]The Prime Minister arrived in Rome on Tuesday as a part of that last leg of his five-nation tour following his engagements in Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands, and the UAE. Upon the Prime Minister Modi's arrival in Rome, the Italian Prime Minister posted uh selfie on X and wrote, "Welcome to Rome, my friend."

[00:03:01]Along with flags of India and Italy, the picture was taken uh with the background of the Colosseum, the ancient Roman amphitheater, glowing against the night sky in the heart of Rome. The two leaders visited the iconic site where they were engaged in deep conversation over a wide range of subjects. During their interaction, Prime Minister Modi gifted Meloni a packet of Indian toffees called Melody.

[00:03:25]And uh she then posted this heartwarming moment on social media thanking the Indian Prime Minister for the gift.
