[00:00:00]As for the next gen UBE, things are a little bit different. Unlike the legacy UBE, the next gen UBE is a day and a half. That means you are testing for 6 hours on day one and 3 hours on day two for a combined 9 hours of testing overall. The next gen UBE will not test on subjects like conflicts of laws, trusts, wills and estates, or secured transactions. Notably, however, the next gen bar exam will test on professional responsibility.

[00:00:28]And while family law is notably absent from initial iterations of the next gen bar exam, it is anticipated to return to the bar exam in July 2028. Even the formatting of the questions on the next gen bar exam is a little bit different from the legacy UBE. Testing will still be broken into 3-hour blocks. These blocks will not be as neat and clean as the legacy UBE.

[00:00:51]Instead, all three types of questions will be integrated together during each of the three blocks. The first type of question is multiple choice. Different from the legacy UBE, next gen UBE multiple choice will have four [music] to six answer options with one to two correct answers.

These are questions with a shared narrative or fact pattern that build over time and include short answer and multiple choice. The final type of question is a performance task.
