Weather forecasting involves analyzing atmospheric conditions including wind patterns, temperature variations, and precipitation probabilities to predict weather events. Wind speeds typically decrease as the sun sets and surface cooling occurs, while daytime heating creates mixing that can bring stronger winds down from upper atmospheric levels. Temperature forecasts consider factors like cloud cover, wind speed, and humidity to predict daily highs and lows, with urban areas often experiencing higher temperatures than inland regions due to heat retention. Forecasters also track low pressure systems that can bring storms and strong winds, providing advance warning for severe weather events.

Cleveland weather: Mainly sunny with a stray shower possible on Friday
Added:All right, let's uh let's check our weather outside. AC, you were saying that we're sort of ticking down this weather impact alert, correct?
>> Yes, and really it's going to be the timeline when the sun is going to be setting, the surface is going to be cooling off, and that's going to allow for the winds overall to back off, and they're going to be stuck in the mid to upper levels of the atmosphere. But right now, the sun is still out, and we have a lot of daytime heating, and it's really mixing down and blowing down those stronger wind speeds. Check out the peak wind gusts over the past uh over the past 24 hours uh since we've had this recent cold front. We had gusts at 43 from Mansfield, highest gusts from Ashtabula at 47, from downtown Burke Airport, we've been uh the highest wind speed I've seen so far is 39, 36 from Lorraine. So, these areas still under that wind advisory until 6:00 for this evening, and that pretty much goes with our next 4 hours for the next 4 hours.
At 4:00, we're looking at a couple more hours of high wind speeds, and then backing off as we get deeper into the evening approaching twilight. Then after sunset, which is at 9:04, we're really going to be cooling off as those winds beginning to calm down under clear skies. So, that means a chilly start for some of us for tomorrow morning. Let's talk about current wind gusts at 29 from Elyria, gusts at 38 Wooster. Some of our inland areas have been gusty as well, although you guys are not any under any type of a wind alert right now. We have gusts at 38 from Akron, 36-mph gusts from Ashtabula. These readings update every 15 minutes or so, we will continue to track that as we go between the next couple of hours. Here's where we stand right now. This low is swinging off to the east, so those fans from Scotland, uh [snorts] we're looking at possibly some severe storms blowing in your direction closer to the Boston area. For us, we're just looking at some passing clouds. We had a little bit of shower activity approaching midday, but we have more daytime showers to look forward to. This is going to be our weather pattern. You notice how things kind of bubble up in southern portions of Minnesota. So, that is going to be sort of a rinse repeat type of forecast we have as we go throughout the next couple of days. So, calm winds for tonight. Watching out for some daytime showers as we go into your Friday and Saturday afternoon.
Late Sunday into Monday, we're going to be watching out for our next low pressure system and that one is going to be bringing another round of storms and possibly some strong winds with that as well. Currently, we're in the 70s.
Everyone's in the 70s. 81° in Dover right now. If you're looking forward to summertime heat, tonight calm winds, mainly clear, 55 inside the metro.
Outside of the city and further inland areas, temperatures will be starting in the upper 40s. We're talking Dover, Camden, locations like Ravenna could be briefly starting in the upper 40s around daybreak for tomorrow. And there's a brief little rogue shower approaching mid- day as we go throughout the early afternoon. We're considering about a 10% chance coverage wide, but mainly sunny with peaks of sun all throughout the afternoon hours with temperatures in the 70s cooling off into the low 60s, upper 50s early Saturday morning. And then we do it all over again. 70s with some pop-up showers bubbling up with the daytime heating heating giving us those little pop-up little rogue showers. So, have the umbrellas just in case. What did your June 10th forecast is looking like mainly sunny with temperatures in the 70s. Have the rain gear just in case for your Saturday with your Union Home Mortgage the 10-day outlook. Show those temperatures in the mid-70s, mid-upper 70s. The first of summer, Father's Day, looking good for the month for the morning and through the afternoon. And then watching out for those showers and thunderstorm chances late Sunday, Monday. Keep a close eye on that. All right, very good. Thank you, AC. See you in the next half hour.
