When governments organize evacuation operations for citizens facing xenophobic attacks abroad, the success of such initiatives depends heavily on effective communication and citizen willingness to return. In this case, the Ghanaian government arranged a flight to evacuate 300 Ghanaian nationals from South Africa following reports of xenophobic attacks, but only one person showed up, raising questions about information dissemination, citizen priorities, and the complex factors influencing migration decisions.

SOUTH AFRICANS ๐ฟ๐ฆ BLASTS GHANAIANS ๐ฉAS ONLY ONE OUT OF 300 GHANAIANS SHOWED UP TO LEAVEAdded:
First of all, have you guys seen how the Ghanaians in South Africa took the attempt to disgrace the president and the foreign minister?
>> The Ghanaian government sent a plane to evacuate 300 Ghanaian nationals from South Africa. Only one person showed up.
>> It stands now Ghanaians, South Africans, Nigerians are reacting after only one Ghanaian showed up. I don't know if you guys have been following up on the news where the Ghana government alongside with the foreign affairs minister announced that they will be sending down rescue flights all the way from Ghana to South Africa to pick up over 300 Ghanaians that showed interest that they want to come back due to the xenophobic attacks that has been going on in South Africa. Do you guys believe that out of the 300 people only one Ghanaian showed up and people are reacting? A lot of Ghanaians are so displeased with the actions of these people and they felt like the last time they checked Ibrahim Mama made it clear that they have a lot of benefit for these people. They will establish these people in Ghana. So why are you guys wasteful? Why are you guys wasting the money, the resources they paid to ensure that they send you back home? Let's take a look at the videos and please leave me your thoughts in the comments. Do not forget to like this video, share this video, and subscribe.
and the ministry of foreign affairs, pragmatic ministry of foreign affairs, they put together a package for them.
They put out um you know the press release and everything. So they coordinated and arranged with the 300 people at this time we are going to evacuate all of you to Ghana and when we come all these things will be available to you guys. I here I just came alone because of I heard about the the situation going on and they say the flight will take off 5:00 a.m. So you must come that is why I prefer no I must come tomorrow.
>> Yes. Per report at the time the flight for move only one individual and per the information like they have a page where they communicate to all these people. Do you know how expensive it is for government to actually even bring 300 people back to government say you come and put things in place and on the D you don't show up you are wicked first of all have you guys seen how the Ghanaians in South Africa took their attempt to disgrace the president and the foreign minister have you guys seen what they've done so four weeks ago came in tweet that 300 Ghanaians are willing to return back home and that on the 21st of May flight will be made available for There were 300 Ghanaians that are willing to come back home. I'm pretty sure a lot of you know what's going on in South Africa. So today being 21st of May, the flight was arranged by the Ghana government and sent to Olivo airport so that the 300 Ghanaians can, you know, can join the plane and come back. Guess what? Out of the 300 Ghanaians, only one joined. Only one. Only one showed up to return. Only one. Meanwhile, the government says if they come back, there will be financial package and reintegration for them that will come back after all this stress wasting money on flight and everything only one showed up. So next time if they are crying at that South Africa again that this and that and that DO YOU THINK THE GOVERNMENT WILL TAKE them serious?
Some are saying that they are married, they cannot come back. Some are saying that the the time frame is too short, they cannot come back. They've disgraced the president and the foreign minister after all this week. Anyway, stick you know what to do. The Ghanaian government sent a plane to evacuate 300 Ghanaian nationals from South Africa following reports of xenophobic attacks. Um, only one person showed up and even then this one person, this man here, he spoke to Newsroom Africa. He says he's not even leaving because of xenophobic attacks.
He says he came to South Africa in 2024 and realized it was time to go home.
Something happened at home and so this opportunity presented itself and that's what he's doing. He's not even leaving because of xenophobia. Look at this post here by Ghana's foreign minister and member of parliament. It says the first batch of 300 Ghanaian nationals will be evacuated on the 21st of May, which tells you they were planning on getting more people out of South Africa and back home to Ghana. But why didn't these people pitch to the airport? Was it maybe a case of this call not reaching the intended audience? Do people just not want to leave South Africa? What is it? As always, if you don't follow me, please do. I do news stories, true crime, and any other stories I think you might find interesting. Happy Thursday once again.
>> Genius where they play one carry on. I don't reach airport for South Africa. Only one person got sure Nigerians where all I said today. I put my funny face and say this one be smart.
This one suit me well.
So you know say xenophobic attack what happen for South Africa among the Ghanaians all the Ghanaians living in South Africa 300 of them 300 of them come sign say they won't go back to Ghana. Yes they come sign say they won't go back to Ghana because of the xenophobic attack going on in South Africa. So before in 200 they come they sign they sign they sign they sign. Now it's up to 300 people. 300 Ghanaians don't sign say make plane come carry them go back to Ghana say they don't tire which the government of Ghana don't approve say oh yeah today go come carry all of >> it today now out of 300 Ghanaian he today only one person there for this be legit updates I give her Don't be joy say they want leave South Africa plane one car don't reach South Africa today now they come enter only one person there for only one CAN 299 nobody show up nobody show up they say they not going anywhere why are they running away from Ghana why they don't want return to Ghana I think the local champions for Ghana Europe for Europe Europe FOR ALL AFRICA WHY they want to European country chalet what are we hearing this morning what are we hearing this morning guys today being the day where you know some of our Ghanaian brothers that are in South Africa according to our Ghanaian government and according to you know some people there is xenophobic attack going on in South Africa. Whereas the South Africans are also saying there's no xenophobic attack going on here. They are just marching against illegal immigrants that are committing they've been committing several crimes and they the citizens they are not safe and they are marching and they've not done any single um xenophobic attack. But on the other hand, you have people circulating videos that there is xenophobic attack going on there. And today was a special day where it was announced by the Ghana Foreign Affairs Minister in the Ghana High Commissioner that 300 Ghanaians are to be repetrated back home. 5:00 a.m.
they are supposed to be at the airport this morning. The video coming from the airport. I don't know that guy. He's a Ghanaian. A Ghanaian has made a video.
He said he's the only Ghanaian that came to the airport. He was there since yesterday till this morning. He hasn't seen any Ghanaian. He hasn't seen any flight. He hasn't he thought he will see at least some Ghanaians around arranging their items. He hasn't seen any Ghanaian at the airport. He's the only Ghanaian there.
And then with him he just want to come back to Ghana because he wanted to even come last year but he didn't get the opportunity and then he decided to come this year. So when this thing is happening he said okay he should also come and then go with the people back and then he's not seeing anybody. But like I said let's not conclude yet.
Let's wait till we hear from the Ghana High Commissioner and the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Probably that guy was at the wrong airport. Probably he was using the wrong gate. Probably he didn't get the information. Well, probably didn't register on the portal. Probably they used a different airport. Let's wait and let's hear from them uh before we conclude. or probably there wasn't any single xenophobic attack in South Africa as the South Africans are claiming that they've been friends with Ghanaians for so long and they've had Ghanaian teachers, Ghanaian barbers, Ghanaian nail technicians and they live peacefully. Ghanaians were very peaceful and their agitation even wasn't on Ghanaians until it got to a point where our foreign minister and our ministers came in in a strong manner and called them xenophobic. aware of they've not touched any Ghanaian. They've not done any xenophobic attack to any Ghanaian.
And that is why the Ghanaians even don't want to leave the country South Africa and only one person came to the airport.
So let's wait. Let's wait and then let's see probably like I said they came through other route and this guy missed the particular gate where they also used in coming back to Ghana. Please let's exercise patience to hear from the ministers. Thank you. So, so what what what made you come to the airport then to um to hit the call in a sense?
>> Yeah.
>> Uh because they told us uh we must come to the airport and find the solution so that we know the time the flight will take off. That's why we came here. But the time I arrived here, I didn't find any Ghanaian like moving around this area. So I think it won't be happen or Yeah. Yeah. I think so.
>> Why are you leaving South Africa?
>> No, it's not like maybe I feel like because of xenophobic attacks that's why I'm leaving South Africa but I can't stay here for long and here's not where I'm from. Yeah. So I have to go back home and rest there. Yeah.
>> And when did you come to South Africa?
>> I came here 2024.
Yeah. 2024.
So I just prefer to go back home. Yeah, even I was planning to go back home last year and there is a small situation happened at home. That's why I just say okay let me just wait for next year but God willing it had been happening. So we are just waiting for the flight to take off.
Um so for you to get here to the airport um how did you get here and um who maybe brought you to the airport airport?
>> Yeah I here I just came alone because of I heard about the the situation going on and they say the flight will take off 5:00 a.m. So you must come. That is why I prefer no I must come tomorrow so that I will get the flight fast. In terms of maybe there is oh there is a lot of people. Yeah. So I came here I think yesterday 8 7 to 8. Yeah. I think I I I took more than 8 hours or 9 hours. Yeah.
>> What job are you doing in South Africa?
>> Uh I'm cutting hair.
>> Yeah. I'm I'm working at Sal.
>> And you said you were using your passport for as a permit.
>> Yeah. I was using my passport before but now it's like the date is off. Yeah, I would say. So the date was off. So I just using asalam. Yeah I was using asalam and when it's 3 month every 3 months I renew it. Yeah the flight. So they think that that's the best way for them that's why they came here. So if you say there is no flight then nothing they going to be disappointed. Yeah. And even me also. Yeah.
>> Who's government?
>> Uh it's a Ghana government.
He's the one doing all this for Ghanaians living in South Africa because of xenophobics. That's why.
>> Ever experienced any xenophobic attacks?
>> No, I never experienced before but I have feel it. Yeah, I have but I never experienced and I've seen it many times happen to many people and other Ghanaians.
>> Was it crime or xenophobia?
>> This one is not a crime. This is not a crime.
>> You are here at Tumbbo airport and it's hours away from the flight. How do you feel that you're going back home?
I'm just worried. I'm just worried about that because they told us to take off 5:00 a.m. So, we decided to come here fast so that we can get what we want.
But now we are not seeing anything now.
So, I just Yeah, I'm just confused. Yeah, I'm just confused now. I don't know what to do now. So, we are just waiting. Maybe there is a news there also. Yeah, there is a news because so we are just waiting when anything happens we just let you guys know.
Ghana Ghanaians um uh in this system to go home but there are also other uh countrymen from Africa in South Africa. What do you say to them? I would say to them be I would say to them like they must know their rules.
Yeah. Because if if you're in someone country, you have to obey the law. Yeah.
That's what I was said about my fellow Africans. Yeah. So me I can't just say anything about Nigeria or Ethopia because I don't Yeah.
warehouse. Do you think um those South Africans that say illegal foreigners must go home, do you think they are being unreasonable?
>> Uh I can't just say they're not reasonable because it's their country and they prefer what they want and they know what is better for their country.
It boggles my mind that why is the country trying to bring Ghanaians stranded or Ghanaians under xenophobic attack in South Africa back to Ghana and they do not want to come to Ghana? Is it because they are scared of trying again or starting all over again? Is it because they have properties in South Africa that they don't want to leave behind? Is it because they are not sure of jobs in Ghana? Why are they ready to risk it? Why are they ready to, you know, restand the xenophobic attack in South Africa? They attacking them. Go away. Go to your country. Why are they not willing to come back to Ghana? Why are they not ready to be on the next flight back to Ghana? Why are they not enthusiastic or willing to just come back to Ghana? Because this is free flight, no payments, nothing. Come back to Ghana and come and have your freedom and you don't want to be on the plane.
What is happening? The thing there is that I totally understand what Kanti was trying to say when he said that is there anything like WhatsApp group where these guys are being probably confined or you know ask certain questions to ensure that they know what is going on because I was like 300 people are not small people. Are you sure they did not miss the flight probably unintentionally because I don't understand how can you have over Jesus Christ how can you have over 300 people Ghanaians that showed interest that they want to return back because of the xenophobic attack just the other day I saw um Ghanaian two ladies they were crying that they shouldn't show their faces that they will go back to to Ghana they were um I think they they were confronted by duda leader queen Victoria and she was like you She needs to go. You guys should hold your Ghana government accountable, right? I'm actually very shocked, guys.
I am totally very shocked to find out that only out of the whole thing, only one, not even up to 10, let's manage 290. Are these guys not scared of this whole thing that is going on in Ghana?
Please, are these guys not scared?
Because with the way Ziggy, Jinta, Queen V, and others have been screaming that 30th June will be deadly. That that's the deadline. I thought that these guys would would embrace the opportunity also considering what they did for Asamoa Emmanuel. They state the guy up.
They made him they gave him accommodation accommodation. They set up a cement deport business for him. He's bowling very well now in Ghana. Please Ghana foreign affairs himself should make this guy rich because for him to come out shows that he's a true patriotic Ghanaian that he loves his country very well because I don't understand only one Ghanaian showed up.
For me, I feel like the only reason why it's just one person is because the information was not prop passed properly. Maybe the information was not passed across properly because there is no way only one person will come back.
Maybe I would have managed maybe 50 I'll be like okay but not one. That is actually very shocking to me and I know a lot of people have been shocked. Some of them are dragging them and they felt like they are being wasteful. They are wasting the government's money because it's not cheap for you to send down rescue flights rescue flights all the way from Ghana, South Africa. They're not going to pay dime and also promise them a lot of benefits if they come back to Ghana willingly. This is a country that has the interest of his people at heart. This is what we Nigerians are not even privileged to get because no one is sending rescue flight down for Nigerians in Ghana. But then Ghanaians that have rescue flights are still not yielding to the whole thing. You guys have yourself to blame because Ghanaians are saying that if you get attacked massively, they will not talk to you anymore. You you had the time they announced it they gave um stipulated time you would have embraced the time and returned back today flight came nobody was found only one person.
Oh you guys should please leave me your thoughts in the comment section based on the videos I shared there. What are your take on this? Please South Africans take it easy. Let them let them be given maybe a little bit more time to know if they would show up and the attacks on the fellow African brothers they should just take it easy is small please. So that people are I think the tension is high now the tension is high everything and it's still not easy to leave not after you've worked your day and night trying to survive in a country. These guys some of them have lived 20 years 24 years 26 years. So it's not never easy for them to leave. It's never easy for them to leave. Okay, I'm going to see you in my next video. Please stay happy, be kind, and be blessed. Bye, guys.
