In the primary election conducted in Delta Central Senatorial District, incumbent Senator Ovie Omo-Agege defeated former Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege in the APC Senatorial primary election for Delta Central.
The Delta Central result was announced by the secretary of the APC National Assembly primary committee, Nosa Amagbor. While Honorable Dr. Okeoghene Benjamin, who served as a collation officer, the team declared that Senator Ovie Omo-Agege pulled 116,252 votes, while Omo-Agege secured 3,643 votes. Senator Ovie Omo-Agege having satisfied the requirements of our great party and having scored the highest number of votes in this primary senatorial Delta Central Senatorial this primary is hereby declared as the winner of the Delta Central Senatorial District primary.
But the former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, is also claiming victory. He said in a statement that based on collated results from all 85 wards across the eight local government area of the Senatorial District, he won decisively.
In Delta North Senatorial District, former Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, defeated incumbent Senator Ned Nwoko to emerge winner of the APC primary election.
Okowa pulled 113,309 votes, while Ned Nwoko secured 2,612 votes. Miriam Alli pulled 40 votes.
The Delta North result was declared by returning officer Eugene Odoh with Hope George serving as returning and collation officer. Having scored the highest number of votes in the Delta North Senatorial District of APC Senatorial primaries of Delta North is hereby declared the winner of this election.
That made politician understand a whole lot of things.
I do not like to say that I made a mistake, but the real truth is that first, the people of the South were not ready. They were not ready for another Northerner to come in. So, I think my party then, the PDP then, made a mistake by bringing a Northern candidate.
