The James Webb Space Telescope has confirmed the most distant galaxy ever observed, named JADES-GS-Z14-0, whose light originated when the universe was only 290 million years old. This galaxy, observed at redshift 14.32, spans 1600 light-years and shines far brighter than standard cosmological models predicted, challenging our understanding of how galaxies formed and grew in the early universe.
