[00:00:00]Firebase was being overrun. Our launch instructor pilot got shot down on the mountaintop. He called in artillery. He called in spooky. All the support he could get to keep the North Vietnamese from overrunning that firebase. [music] He was up there for like 7 days. And the day he got shot down, we were inbound to pick him up when they called us off. But they were they were weighing the circumstances. They said they thought it was [music] a safer. And so they called us off about a 100 ft from the area.

[00:00:26]What He got off the mountain okay eventually? About 7 days later, he got off. [music] And those Vietnamese soldiers were so happy. They were thankful for all the help he'd given them.
