Konig eloquently frames the "imperfections" of handcrafted ceramics as a vital rebellion against the sterile uniformity of modern mass production. These objects are not mere decor, but vital vessels of human history and the tactile trace of a maker's soul.

Rita Konig's Slice of Humanity From V&A's Archive追加:
Ceramics and porcelain [music] and China is really a passion of mine.
Hi, I'm Rita Konig and I'm here at the V&A East Storehouse. Something that Wedgwood [music] did so beautifully was the drab color they used. The blue is so strong next to it and the leaves and the flowers and the combination of something [music] that's so delicate with a color that we sort of associate with burlapp and >> [music] >> working fabric. I love that combination.
Porcelain at that time was so expensive.
It's called white gold. You know, this is a fruit dish which of course we don't think now how precious fruit was. We're much more throw away now.
Things made by hand are so individual and they show such a beautiful craft. No two are the same. I mean, once this is done by machine, it doesn't have the same depth.
The things made by hand are very precious. It's just the time they take and >> [music] >> the humanity that's gone into them.
There's a life cycle and not a churning out. The person that made this plate, they probably didn't imagine that it was going to end up [music] in a museum.
