This video explores the philosophical question of whether modern conveniences like air conditioning have made people weaker by reducing their ability to handle discomfort and challenges, with participants sharing personal experiences of enduring extreme heat in restaurant kitchens and lawn maintenance to illustrate how past generations developed greater resilience through direct exposure to physical hardships.

GMRS Coversation- Have we become weak
Added:I believe everybody's gotten too used to being comfortable.
>> Well, I agree with you.
We're definitely living in the uh Hard men Hard men make good times and uh good times make weak men. We're living in the weak men era, that's for sure.
I love my AC, but Yeah, there's something to it.
>> Oh, I believe it back when I uh you know, when I was running my restaurant, it was anywhere from 90 to 110° in the kitchen in the summertime.
And uh I just we just dealt with it. We had air conditioner, but it just didn't do anything to keep up.
But uh yeah, I uh I still think uh I'm used to the hot used to the heat.
It's going to be close to 90 today, and they're talking about uh it being hot and humid.
When I get home here in a little bit, I'm going to be out there riding on the lawn mower on my lawn mower push mower and weeding today.
But uh yeah, I believe uh I've gotten used to it.
I hate to say it, but I believe the uh younger generation is a lot more expected of it.
They're always saying, "I'm cold." or "I'm hot."
"Turn on the heat." "Turn on the air conditioner."
And uh I'm used to being like dealing with it and being comfortable if I'm a little >> What do you guys think about this younger generation or the what we all have become now regarding modern conveniences?
>> I might lose you here in a second.
>> These guys are discussing it on GMRS channel two, which is a big repeater in my area. They're almost always somebody on there and I could reach them at any time if I wanted to.
Um GMRS, you do need a license, but it's no test. You just pay the fee and it's good for 10 years, I think, for you and your family members.
So, it's worthwhile to have because if you have a radio with GMRS capability you can contact on those certain channels with your license.
Which is different from ham radio where you need to take a test to speak on the radio.
To listen is for anyone.
To speak, you need a test for ham radio.
GMRS, General Mobile Radio Service you do not need a a uh test. You just need to pay the fee for the uh license.
So, that's my video today. Have we become too soft with modern conveniences?
